Maybe the best show I ever saw him do (and I was lucky enough to see him quite a few times, including and an amazing show in Paris Le Grand Rex in 2000).
I was at the Edinburgh show too - one of my all time favourite gigs. There was a fairly decent audio recording of it on TH-cam at one time, but I can't find it at the moment. Hopefully it'll turn up again.
If only one could find the original taping of this. with the full set including walking spanish. remaster it and release as it's own little live album. because he has never sounded better than what he did here.

i was in the audience for this and the stage crew had to stop people leaving as it was the last performance of the show. I was standing next to producer and we just looked at each and shook our heads. To be in the presence of such a talent and not appreciate it.
When the show ended he kept on playing as studio emptied. He went on to do more songs to the few people who had bothered to stay. Genius and I SAW HIM LIVE AND ONLY A FEW FEET FROM ME MAGICAL.
Not sure who Tom tells to "Watch it! " at around 10:27 but... they better watch it!!! Tom will mess ya' up! My favorite performance artist in this century, next to Jack Nicholson!!!! STUDS!!!!
I just discovered Tom from Lex Fridman's podcast where he mentioned "I want you." Amazing. How the hell have I never heard of him before? I'm sharing this everywhere.
To witness this in the 80s must've made you freeze like stone cause most 80s culture was really poppy/materialistic. I don't think there was anyone else in his lane.
