I worked in Devine as a medic for the EMS. I remember meeting him many times, the whole town looked after him.

It's so heartwarming that this community was his caring family and how much he cared for his community!!! We should learn from this humanity...pure Joy. Yes, he's at peace, reunited with his birth family...service was today...obit on line.

You are truly correct if we all had just the a tenth of the heart of him we’d be truly blessed

I saw him on my bike in 1986 and he was on his bike. Only difference was I was 11 and he was ??...also he had a Huge Cowboy hat and Big'ol Bely buckle. Rest in Peace Mr. Eddie, I saw you in the sun livin' the life you were meant to live. It was a good day!

Another great story from your voyage across Texas. I was heartbroken to see you are retiring and for one who doesn't even live in your state, I vote against it.

I remember Eddie back in the day. I lived just outside of Moore & remember his family on Saturdays sitting in front of Loggins & Lillies with their wagon in the back. My friends & I rode motorcycles & I remember Eddie would always be fascinated about them. He would park his bicycle by our motorcycles & join us, being part of the gang where ever we were in Devine. Eddie was a wonderful & kind person & will be missed by me & everyone who knew him. Rest in peace, my friend. Jesse James Ferguson

We had a night watchman in Athens Texas until the 1970s.
I think his name was Mr Green (?)
