Further note on Josie: for the finale of season two a scene was shot but never used in which Cooper encounters Josie in the red room. She is wearing the exact same outfit as she did the night she died, but it’s just her body, her head is poking through the curtains. Also when she died it was said she only weighed 60 pounds. This to me seems to suggest that Josie is stuck between two worlds, halfway between the black lodge and our world. Her body is in the red room and her head of course is in the doorknob.
Could you tell me where you found that information? In all my years I’ve never heard of that. Nothing like that was in the original season two finale script either.
It was from Frank Silva’s talk at Twin Peaks fest in 1993: "..If you notice, in the Red Room...you do see Josie's body, You don't see her face, but you see her body sticking out of the Red Room curtains. In the series... Joan Chen wasn't available at the time, so we had to get around that! There was a double of Joan Chen, but you just saw the body and her head was outside the Red Room. If you look in the Red Room, you see Josie's body, the last outfit that she had on, you'll see that body with that outfit...and her head is sticking outside the red wall...” The story was then corroborated by Richard Beymer’s on set photographs which depict the exact scene he was described being shot, with the Josie body double wearing the nightgown she wore the night she died in the red room. Because the Red Room sequence was almost entirely unscripted his photographs are one of the only resources we have to know about cut scenes besides interviews. I recommend seeking out an article on a blog called Twin Peaks Archive called “Between Two Worlds: Josie’s Fate”, it documents it in better detail.

@@adynaton4266 It's also the same audio as can be heard in the pilot, but nobody else than Sarah should be able to remember that, since Laura was already dead or missing, Cooper was not yet investigating her murder and Cole visited Twin Peaks later.
Maybe this will sound stupid but... what if Gordon seeing Laura at his hotel room door was actually Lynch himself watching what symbolizes Twin Peaks (or who's "the one" that embodies the whole show)? Like he's telling us he opened a door 25 years ago for something else on TV and hes doesn't care about the final meaning of it all... because this is only art, living emotional art.

5:40 I am pretty sure the figure in the dark clothes ins Bernard Renault, who works together with Leo on the drug trade and gets killed by Leo, so we never see him again. He just shares an outfit with Leland. There is no reason to think that Leland worked with Leo running drugs. Would also be a huge risk after he attacked him the night his daughter died. But who knows what Bob / Leland were up to. I also always interpreted the make up on Vindom Earl as a costume / trick he pulls on Leo. Vindom is constantly discusing himelf and I thought he might just want to scare Leo a bit and the plan to enter the Black lodge and take its power to do evil adds up with his Earl's motivation and not Bob's. Bob has the power of the Lodge, Vindom wants to get the evil power of Bob. I am not sure he would want that while controled by Bob. Vindom Earl's plans change a bit when he realises that he can open the way to the Lodge with fear, using Annie to open the door and not just kill her and Coop. But I also do like the idea that Bob took over Earl, either way I always saw it as Bob playing both Vindom and Earl by louring them in to the lodge, to take his new victim (he directly appears infront of Coop after Josie is killed, planting the idea how to enter the lodge in Cooper's head). I do think all other explenations work out pretty perfectly.

I just noticed the security guard in New York is the former UFC fighter, now announcer, Michael Bisping. I just noticed that the sounds of Laura screaming, and Sarah calling her name are also present in the opening shot of the episode that opens with Leland getting read his rights for the Jaques Renault murder. When it does that long pull out shot from the hole in the ceiling tile. Neat little connection there.
Amazing videos, outstanding effort on all of them, loving it. Had to comment on the intro for episode 6, the mixing of original fire walk with me theme into Fantomas version, love it..
I'm both pleased and surprised by how many people were familiar with the Fantomas version. That's long been a favorite album of mine, so it was great to get to include it.
Am I crazy or has it been pointed out before that the stop light scene ("it's him! It's your father!") shows mike with the jade ring on his right pinky (with no limp arm). Typically, we see the jade ring on the left ring finger (the spiritual mound) and those who wear it there end up with limp arms.
I think that might be nothing more than the fact that Mike has no left arm, so they had no choice but to put it on a finger on his right, and if that one had been perpetually limp, he'd have been unable to drive.
Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don’t plan it, don’t wait for it, just let it happen. It could be a new shirt in a men’s store, a cat nap in your office chair, or A NEW VIDEO FROM CORN PONE FLICKS!
I really hope, that you make more videos on Twin Peaks. There always seems to be more to explore of it. I've watched and loved Twin Peaks, from the very first episode in 1990, and love it even more and am more fascinated by it, almost 30 years later.
I love the way you clearly explain why the entire syncing theory is crap. People do love to see patterns and intention where there are none. Evolutionarily, it’s better to see a pattern where there is none than to miss the intention of another human.
It's probably someone who's a big proponent of syncing the episodes. I frankly expected more pushback on that than has happened so far. The channel may be small, but I've been making videos for thirty years, and before that I shot on 8mm film, so I should hope I've learned a thing or two by now, at least as far as production goes. I've just never been one to court audiences.
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks Well, I hope you manage to gather a larger audience, you certainly deserve one! I have only seen the Twin Peaks Overview series so far, but I will see other videos from the channel for sure.
This is fantastic. Honestly, I’ve yet to find other creators with such a firm grasp on the events of Twin Peaks. I have an MA in Film and did my thesis on Lynch and definitely could have used your insights during my many sleepless nights!
Great video as always. I think the frequent displays of sickness in the town of Twin Peaks, and the little vignettes of the people who live there, are supposed to show that the town is full of suffering and corruption. It's demonstrating that the "black corn" has fully ripened over 25 years, as Judy (in Sarah) has been influencing the town, and is feasting on the results, in the absence of Laura who was her previous source of food.
I'd wager it's also because it's a personal concern of Lynch's. I don't personally buy his idea of transforming the world via meditation, but his self-named foundation is very focused on improving the health of the world.
I always thought that I had pretty much figured out Twin Peaks by now. But there are some obvious details here that are making me feel stupid. How did I never realize that when Cooper and Diane have sex as part of a supposed plan or instructions it's obviously a reference to the beginning of the season when the couple has sex at the room in the skyscraper?
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks Once said it is more than obvious actually. What it is supposed to mean is of course another question but how can it not be meant to be noticed?
Congratulations, I agree on pretty much everything. Awesome editing too. I think Lynch did screw up the date with FWWM but I believe season 3 was intentional. Specially with Frost there. In fact, considering the ending of season 3 and The Final Dossier I believe Frost went out of his way to keep it considering that apparently reality retcon itself on Twin Peaks.
Apart from the obvious good vs evil, light vs shadow theme imho Lynch & Frost are explaining how everything in existence flows from one Source of consciousness. The third thematic principle is imho "we live inside a dream". Again imho that being the dream of the Infinite Creator. In this sense we are watching David Lynch's dream as Twin Peaks is his creation as the director (no offence to Mark Frost intended). One possibility is, thats not Gordon looking at Laura through the doorway, its Lynch himself. This aspect is also visited when Laura sees herself on a movie set inside a picture frame; ie. Shes in Lynch's dream. And again with the Monica Bellucci sequence. If you watch The OA you'll see it again. This theme has been portayed many times but one must be either an initiate or spiritually evolved to understand it. There's a reason the symbol of Freemasonry appears above the RR Cafe in S3. Love your work btw, your videos have helped me comprehend TP much better. Cheers. 😊

i think Gordon saw Laura at the door because he "remembered the unnofficial version" (whatever that means)
Now that I think about it, maybe that vision was somehow sent to Gordon from Philip Jeffries to ensure that he'd remember the unofficial version. 🤔

I have read a lot to understand twin peaks. But your videos make the mistery feeling again. Thanx you. That's not an easy task lately.
I HAVE THE FURY OF MY OWN MOMENTUM
With this ring.
I the wed
Am I crazy or has it been pointed out before that the stop light scene ("it's him! It's your father!") shows mike with the jade ring on his right pinky (with no limp arm).
Typically, we see the jade ring on the left ring finger (the spiritual mound) and those who wear it there end up with limp arms.
I think that might be nothing more than the fact that Mike has no left arm, so they had no choice but to put it on a finger on his right, and if that one had been perpetually limp, he'd have been unable to drive.
Love it. All of it. Another banger from Corn Pone. TX!!!!
This was incredible. Your editing just gets cooler and cooler with each video. I look forward to seeing anything you post! 🙌
Great series man. Thank you for your work!
Loving your TP videos! Hope you make more!
Oh ma freaking god your dedication, editing and that last scene 😱 😍
Your editing and humour are impeccable
CARRY PAGE HAS A HORSESHOE AS A NECKLACE
omg, do you have David Lynch trapped in a glass box and torturing him for these answers? so concise and plausible. u sir, are yrev very good
great video, excited to watch the rest
Great channel
Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don’t plan it, don’t wait for it, just let it happen. It could be a new shirt in a men’s store, a cat nap in your office chair, or A NEW VIDEO FROM CORN PONE FLICKS!
Thank you! I wait and watch for a new video to appear in my feed from you and when it arrives I fee such joy.
I really hope, that you make more videos on Twin Peaks. There always seems to be more to explore of it. I've watched and loved Twin Peaks, from the very first episode in 1990, and love it even more and am more fascinated by it, almost 30 years later.
There will be one more, after which I've got a laundry list of other videos to get to.
I love the way you clearly explain why the entire syncing theory is crap. People do love to see patterns and intention where there are none. Evolutionarily, it’s better to see a pattern where there is none than to miss the intention of another human.
Agreed...a false positive is unlikely to have immediate unfortunate consequences, whereas a false negative gets you eaten by a tiger.
Thanks again!! These are too good. Gonna go watch them in order now!! Keep em coming please...
That Stranger things moment reminds me of every Twin Peaks recap.
Gives me the giggles every time.
Brilliant just fantastic 👌
The one dislike is Bob for sure. It amazes me how well made these videos are coming from a relatively small channel!
I have only seen the Twin Peaks Overview series so far, but I will see other videos from the channel for sure.
best explanation ever , and underrated channel, subbed
You make Lynch and Frost look like super geniuses.
I kind of felt like I was actually DE-mystifying things a bit. People often look for the most over-complicated, non-intuitive answers.
thank you for making this yrev very amazing video. each of your episodes on this is tremendous
Hey, was that a Fantomas song in the opening credits? Sweet!
Love that tune!
you do a real good job. I love the way you shoot your angles.
This is fantastic. Honestly, I’ve yet to find other creators with such a firm grasp on the events of Twin Peaks. I have an MA in Film and did my thesis on Lynch and definitely could have used your insights during my many sleepless nights!
I feel more vindicated than ever that I never bothered with college.
Yer a wizard, Mr. Cornpone
I absolutely love the cinematography in these reviews
Thanks for saying so, though I felt the lighting in this one didn't really come off the way I hoped. I'll have to try to get it better next time.
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks That's probably true too.
Fantastic video!!!
It is, of course, just a speculation on my part, but it's one that makes sense to me.
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks Once said it is more than obvious actually. What it is supposed to mean is of course another question but how can it not be meant to be noticed?
I agree, but I also try not to be too sure of myself. Fan theories that are really certain of themselves can get downright insufferable.
Cheers. 😊
Damn, Son. The work, time and thought that went into these videos....just, just damn. Good Work.
And, uh.....F....U on that ending.....perfect.
Let me add my voice to the choir and say these TP videos have been superb! Looking forward to that last one👍
