Hey Moe I just finished my week long training and I've been a ride along a couple of days and got a lot of info.on loading n unloading , operating the maneuvers it's a great job. I've been driving trucks for 12 years n now I've taken on a new challenge of driving cement trucks. Great video n keep up the good work.
Hey Readymix Moe, I really like your videos. I used to drive a ready mix truck back in the mid 80's. I just recently retired from the corporate world and I'm thinking about getting back into a ready mix truck. I'm 58 years old but in great shape. I'd appreciate your thoughts on me getting back into driving. Thanks Buddy.
Awesome job by you and your trainee. Its my third week as a ready mix driver. Still working on slumping by eye and ear I'm getting better. Also getting accurate with chute in tight spots but I'm working on it. I love your videos.
You're doing good there Moe, I had a trainee for a day he ground up my gear box and used the park break at every intersection and roundabout...after the rough start he's doing good now. Big shortage of drivers in New Zealand, young ones don't see it as an attractive career.
Readymix Moe Some big transport companies here run an apprentice system where they train up the young ones working them through the license process to get there "class 5" (CDL) and pay for it , Then to keep them quite often they will get a late model Kenworth, Mack, Freightliner or a big Jap truck or a European truck...but have to sign up with the company for 3 to 5 years , they driving big shiny tippers up and down the country. The readymix industry's drivers are mostly in the late 40's plus age group some are in their 70's. Certainly no young ones knocking on the company's door saying I want to drive a concrete truck.
Readymix Moe just found your channel think it's great! I just got into concrete myself. I am on my third day of training. It's simple but challenging at the same time
It will I started otr so it's not hard. Just remember there is no trailer behind you lol. I train guy all the time fresh of the road and they turn wide and back like there's a trailer there.
Bad idea to add a fourth chute most companys wont alow it the chutes are engineered to hold so much weight and ibe seen them collapse when a fourth chute is added unless you can pour really wet so thetes not much in chutes dont do it someone will get hurt and you will have broken chutes
I been driving tractor trailer for yrs now im driving ready mix trucks what is a good training video or where is your training video I have a bad trainer
What's up brother? New employee at Jenco in Bayshore. Love it, they say you started here. Keep it up learned a lot from watching your vids. Thinking of moving to TX, NY to damn expensive. Are you making same amount as up here or close to it? Thx
Hey Moe I'm a school bus driver and I'm looking to make more money and I called a concrete company to ask if they would hire me and they said yes. I have 3 kids and I just want to know do you think females could handle this job and how are the hours. I'm a lil shy about this job but my husband is so encouraging. Lol
@@readymixmoe6088 we have the verifi slump system on our trucks, I like it and sometimes dont like it. It automatically maintains the slump while in transit. And keeps a record of everything that happened to that load. But when something breaks on the system it's all bad
hey man good vids....im thinking about the Crete business bruh! been driving over twenty + years just wondering what type of money can you make??? without gettin too personal about your finances
i thought all cement drivers make $100k? oh well that's the game...east coast cost of living is low...west coast is HIGH !! i guess thats why they make what they make man!!!!!
how long is your average week and how many loads do you deliver on a "normal" day? up here in maine drivers only get 18 and hour, one company pays 21 an hour. last week my busiest day was 3 loads only. i need/want more action bro. not a stand still kind of person.
I work in Vegas for a company called American Eagle Ready Mix and I'm one of their trainers, I drive a 2017 KW T880 with a McNeilious Mixer been driving mixers since '00 looking good though bruh! Keep up the good videos!
What am I doing? I work all day. I finally get home and what do I do? I watch other people work.
Jesse Jaymes lmao I'm the same way.

Thanks brother and welcome to the concrete world.
awesome videos love t osee some ride alongs in the truck to and from jobs and the yard !
MATCO MANIAC got you.
was going to ask about the 4th chute. we use a lot of long chute too. We're warned about supporting it but if it's wetting down enough it works ok.
Yea it's not normal practice but got to get her done lol

Robert Anderson I think it's a great idea, I know older guys than you doing it so, come on back.
Thanks!! I'm gonna do just that!!

Billy Ford keep working, it comes easy after a while.

Lindsay Harper we don't have that here in NC
I start my training in a week, look forward to it

Victor Carter yes it is but when u get it, it's on lol welcome my man to the concrete world, I salute you!!
Always remember the mixer is always the first truck on a job site TO FIND THE SOFT SPOT. Pay attention to the ground your driving on
Today is my 1st day out there in the field came from a otr driver trying out this new life hope everything works out
It will I started otr so it's not hard. Just remember there is no trailer behind you lol. I train guy all the time fresh of the road and they turn wide and back like there's a trailer there.
@@readymixmoe6088 agree its hard to get out of the mood. But it was a awesome day
@@concreteman8777 that's what's up💪
Video is helpful. I start training soon. I'm a Woman Driver. Looking forward to learning.
Iove ya bud, never add extra chutes. Massive liability problems
Yes, you could bend your main chute, especially if you are pouring off to the left or right too far. My truck has a bent main because of that.
Big liability
I start doing this in 4 days. Pay is not that good, coming from otr driver! But at $18 a hr it helps me be home everynight for my triplets.
Good old footers perfect thing to train new drivers
Bad idea to add a fourth chute most companys wont alow it the chutes are engineered to hold so much weight and ibe seen them collapse when a fourth chute is added unless you can pour really wet so thetes not much in chutes dont do it someone will get hurt and you will have broken chutes
It was a footing job so yes it was wet. Only way I would of done it.
Not a good idea to hang more chutes. Adds too much pressure to the first chute and to the hydraulic system. just my 2cents.
Hey your 2 cents matters lol I'm still learning everyday so any advice is good advice.
Man that's a good looking peterbilt, i here u man here in western North Carolina it get pretty hot here to
KLX 22 yes sir I was ready to get back in the a.c lol
Readymix Moe I don't blame you man... keep on trucking I salute you and all the concrete drivers
Yeah my trainer had no patience, I lasted 2 weeks and then quit.
Never quit lol push through
Word bro same here
New guys done something ive never done it 14 yrs driving mix. 4 chute pour !
Wouldn't normally do this but needed to get closer.
im training a guy now thats right hands on
Hot 88?? Lol. Try Texas 106°. Hahaha... Great video
No more than three chutes!
I know but we were in a shitty situation lol
Safety first, Moe! Remember you are in charge of your truck. Be the captain! Be safe out there, brother.
@@Rolandbv salute my guy thanks
Oh yeah it's hard work pulling the truck up and discharging the concrete
Can I ask why you have all the wheels and what’s with the dolly wheels on the rear.
There pusher axles. New trucks come with them.
I been driving tractor trailer for yrs now im driving ready mix trucks what is a good training video or where is your training video I have a bad trainer
I don't train rookies you have way more patience than I do my friend
Lol man you have to be easy with these guys. It's a scary situation sometimes lmao

Lol no I started here and yes my is expensive. We share the same owner lol he does pay pretty close to NY but it's way cheaper to live here.
Bro how do you keep your truck so clean???? Damn
Man I just put the brush on it every now and then lol
@@readymixmoe6088 haha nice!!! I’m halfway through my training man there’s a lot of shit to remember… you make it look easy bro
Should of had a front loader to train in. Gotta roll and pour! Sumbody deserves a raise or job title upgrade. Plant manager maybe? 😀
elizabeth b say it lizzzzz
And somebody needs to learn some spelling. 😂
RebelSoul my dude stop lol
RebelSoul troll alert. No content no life. 😄😄😄
I'm glad I drive a front discharge.
Rear is so much easier. I’ve driven both.

Any advice on interviews for mixer driver I have struck out twice now and I have class a and perfect driver record
A good teacher learns to let them struggle. Can't just give them all the answers.

Linda Lopez yes you can, it's not a hard job. Hours can be crazy but seems like you have support. I say go for it you will never know unless you try.
Readymix Moe Thankyou so much for replying I was waiting for it, and I will try this summer since school is out. Thanks!!!
Linda Lopez go for it.
Where's my shout out for my truck lol!
Andrew Peedin Andrew you should be here man. I know you out there getting it.
Moe, what drum RPM do you recommend for initial mixing, transit and then discharge ? You do a good job on your videos, very respectful to everyone.
I would say 15 to 20 for mixing , 2 to 6 in transit and for discharge it's all about how fast the contractor wants it.
I always mix at 2000 on my gauge , 1500 in transit or a little lower. Discharge as fast as the finishers want it lol
@@readymixmoe6088 we have the verifi slump system on our trucks, I like it and sometimes dont like it. It automatically maintains the slump while in transit. And keeps a record of everything that happened to that load. But when something breaks on the system it's all bad
Thank you very much for the information. Very interesting profession.
@@johndavidson4128 wow that is interesting I need to see how those work.
I think these drivers should be paid more
hey moe, got my class a,currently in the oilfield to see how it plays out, how much does concrete pay on a weekly average?
Aus 10 well I've made 1200 a week on a good week, and as low as 600
Depends where you work. I'm in rural NW Arkansas, $17 an hour, averaging 50/60 hours a week, but make an extra $3200 a year in bonuses
hey man good vids....im thinking about the Crete business bruh! been driving over twenty + years just wondering what type of money can you make??? without gettin too personal about your finances
John Langston my first year I made 50 that was with training pay. All depends on how you run, run hard get that good money.
cemex in Cali make $100k
John Langston I need to get to Cali lol
i thought all cement drivers make $100k? oh well that's the game...east coast cost of living is low...west coast is HIGH !! i guess thats why they make what they make man!!!!!
John Langston yea I'm in the south low cost of living down here. If I was in N.Y. I would make 100k
i like to grind. ill grind it to the nub if allowed.
Off upanddown grind on lol
Nice!
Nice. But a 4th chute = issues .. dont ever do that. Take care my man! Keep slingin that mud!
