Omar, I am just loving the new 3rd party lenses for the X-System. The Tammy 17-70, Sigma 56 1.4, and now this 10-18 are just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. These new lenses along with the 40mp X-H2 have finally given me a new photographic home. Z6ii to A7iv and now to Fuji-Land. The overall eco-system finally hits the mark I personally need for myself and our 6 kids that also do photography. Would love to see some more videos with either the X-T5 or X-H2. Thanks for staying you!
You and Pal2tech are the reason why I switched from Nikon to Fujifilm. I had Nikon D7200 and Z50. I was thinking to go with Nikon Z6 or Z6ii but Fujifilm was really really interesting and I don’t regret the purchase of XT3 + 18-55mm 👌 crazy good combo and the lens for kit lens it’s insanely good. Can’t believe it’s a kit lens.

I really enjoyed the video as well as the still images. The mood of the video, including the choice of music, was pleasantly inviting. I usually think it is difficult to make use of ultra-wide focal length lenses, and yet your photos were great: good use of foreground framing in some shots; eye-catching land- and waterscapes, and no distortion from misaligning the lens vertically. I REALLY wish Fujifilm would revisit the X-Pro line. Maybe next year?

the biggest thing keeping from immediately picking up this lens is the zoom ring that turns in the opposite direction from fujifilm and nikon
Is IT aby problem? How often you use zoom?
While an initial annoyance, I found that I quickly adapted to it when using the Sigma 18-50. So it may not be as bad as it initially seems!
...Although I will occasionally still turn things the wrong way when I'm swapping between Fuji zooms and the Sigma, but hasn't really been an issue in the long run; I find that I miss the aperture ring far more when going between lenses.

Thanks for this video Omar. I sold my Fujifilm 18mm f/2 and regret it because I realised after the fact that a lot of my favourite images were taken with a 14mm MFT lens on an OM-D M10. Seems I like the 17-8mm look. I now have an X-E4 and X-S20 and have been looking at the XF 16mm for video. This is long winded :). Meanwhile I bought the Lumix S9 partly to get into video with the 24 and 45mm Sigma lenses, I didn’t get on with the S9 but loved the lenses. So you’ve just found my new lens, this will go well on the X-E4 and X-S20 and fills my 18mm photo and video lens gap in one purchase. Thanks, again. :)
This lens looks good, I tried the 18-50 2.8 and just didn’t like how bad the corners looked at 18mm, both CA(red fringing ) and softness.
This lens look a lot better and the price is right, will pair well with the 18-120 f4 and the 150-600
let's go!!!! wow this is small enough that i might consider trading in my 8-16mm zoom. i'll have to use that one a bit more in the next few months to determine how badly i'll miss 8 and 9mm though. but the fact that this goes to 18 is a huge boon to me (i love 18mm on Fuji).
It seems it loses focus when zooming, like 70-300. Reviewers rarely test this on purpose, and you have to rewatch all the reviews to find if someone tried to shoot videos while zooming. Thanks a lot, thought about gettings theses lenses, but it's a dealbreaker for me.
unfortunately it does :( It's a great lens, but I'm considering on returning it due to that problem
How does it compare to the Fuji 10-24? Is the image at 10 the same?
Omar, have you tried this lens and it's complimentary 18-50 on a 40mp Fuji camera? If yes, how are the images as compared to the ones you shot with the X-T20? Cheers.

Let me answer my own question ! I got the lens today and yes it loses focus terribly when zooming in/out on XT5 , and exposure is all over the place if you zoom no matter what your setting are .

Seven months on and no-ones noticed Fujfiilm!
Debating getting this or the Fuji 10-24 F4 mainly for landscape. I’m not really concerned with the 2.8 as I never use that aperture for my landscape. 8mm focal length for a zoom lens seem very constrictive but is it sharper than the 10-24?
Personally, I prefer a standard zoom for general use and a fixed super wide at 10 or 12mm. Smaller, faster and cheaper. A 10-18 or equivalent focal range lens would mostly be used at its widest focal length anyway..... ymmv
Thing is fixed 12mm lenses aren't smaller or lighter than this Sigma. Like the Samyang 12mm f/2, basically the same size.

You mentioned image stabilization on the kit 18-55 but I didn’t hear this lens had it. Is it true in your experience that IS is less necessary with wider focal lengths?
Definitely is less necessary on wider lenses, your hand shake has less of a effect (think of it as how much of an angle the shake is adding, and what proportion of the total angle of the image that is)
With a body with IBIS that problem is solved. It's really fun being able to take long exposure shots handheld entirely thanks to camera IBIS.
How it's AF performs when shooting a video?

I have the sigma 18-50 and you can update the firmware just by using a sd-card in camera. Would expect the same for the 10-18.
I wish Sigma would make that lens with micro 4/3 mount
I believe it does. I just saw it listed on B&H as as L-mount lens (as well as X-mount, of course, and Sony).
@@tuskey You're having them mixed up. L-mount is only the mount Pana uses for their fullframe cameras like the S1 & S5 series. This lens isn't made for M4/3 mount, which makes sense since 10mm wouldn't be nearly as wide on an M4/3 camera anyway.

@@fotografalexandernikolis I am aware that this lens wouldn't be as wide on MFT as it is on APS-C (same as with their contemporary 16, 30 and 56 1.4's) but still it would be a great all-rounder with FF equiv of 20-36mm. It's a pity that Sigma doesn't want to bring it to MFT. It wouldn't be much work for them anyway, just slapping different mount on the back of that lens.

"Slapping a different mount on the back" is an oversimplification - there is testing and calibration involved, which is not free (in time and money). Also Sigma has limited production capacities, which was shown in the past, where the Fuji X lenses were released by a significant delay (the Sigma 18-55mm 2.8 and then 23mm 1.4), which also confirms that making a lens work for a different mount is not just a "walk in the park".

@@Pixelpeeps-69 actually he has a point , I had XT3 for 3 years , and XT5 for 2 years , and I can easily say that XT5 has much better autofocus performance . New lenses tested on old camera bodies usually mislead people who want to buy the lens for their newer camera bodies
