It’s not “off the rise.” The expression comes from tennis and it’s taking the ball “on the rise.” Which is an accurate description of what is happening: you are hitting the ball as it’s still rising from the bounce.
No.pro stands that close to the baseline. If your opponent is serving deep and hard serves you are toast.
Valid, but keep in mind there’s a difference between “advanced” return of serve and “pro” return of serve
True. It’s a riskier shot and you’re not likely to win a point or really bother your opponent by a fast return anymore than a drive will bother them. Better to hit a lower risk deep return with less pace. I think at rec play it might be more beneficial.
