WOW! Sorry this happened to you. Your checkout went very smoothly and you had a wait in line time of only 3min. My check out went horribly and I had a wait time of 6min. Something is not right. TY for sharing 🙏🏾
The truth is, Mattel has no control of their own product. Workers in the factory are swiping and swapping cars from basic cases, of course their taking RLC cars. Start watching eBay for multiple super treasure hunt lots and RLC lots and look where they are coming from. I live near Memphis and for the first 6 months of last year ,all the Walmart’s in and around Memphis received 2022 P case ,every two weeks , for 6 months. I nearly gave up completely.
Thx for posting this, you are way more laid back than I was when I had the two ‘69 Camaro’s cancelled/refunded after 8 months wait. We are not alone in abuse from Mattel. Sound is just fine, and overdrive is just a price gouge IMO Membership should receive a modicum of respect at the very least you’d think.

didn't have much issues with the Advan, i think wait time was around 3-4 mins. not really concerned with OD. there should be less traffic as well on the day of the drops
I think I’ve had 4 cancellations… so far. Some are pending that are late. The worst one was for the Master Set. They took my money, which was over $1000 CDN, and never bothered to send a confirmation. I had to contact them to plead for my money back! I had another cancellation that was a good thing because I had buyers remorse. They even gave me a $5 off code. But the strangest thing was that they have now twice sent me a duplicate of an order that I was only charged once for! 😅
It's too bad Mattel doesn't care about customer service. I'm sorry you got screwed. They've told me that I got one, but .. we'll see. It's my last RLC purchase. I've had enough of dealing with them. I'm not overly impressed with the quality control either, especially for the price point. This whole Overdrive thing makes a regular membership seem worthless. Now we'll have two groups of bots to fight, neither of which the average person can do. I'm all done buying from Mattel. I'm going vintage second hand for my collection. There's enough out there to make it interesting for centuries without Mattel's new stuff. I literally made a request for a refund of my $9.99 Membership since they changed it after I paid for it. I don't expect to get a refund, but it's worth a shot.
I keep hearing about the bad customer service,I bought a javelin new to the hobby and my first rlc purchase came damaged by mail send a email and they responded in less than a day and sent me a replacement one
This seems to be the growing sentiment among collectors that have been around a while. I usually prefer the newer stuff so, like many others, they have us by the short and curlies 😅. There’s enough people willing to put up with their bs system that they still sell all the product, even if the experience is horrible. Hope you get some feedback from them at least, otherwise enjoy the vintage stuff, this should be an enjoyable hobby. Thanks for the great comment! 👍
There are definitely exceptions, I have had shipping issues resolved quickly as well, but it is not consistent. And with the Javelin, it may have been a more convenient fix for them as it’s not a great seller. 😅 I might grab one now that I’m not getting the Skyline 👍

Mattel to Collectors: if you want a shiny collectible at half the scalper cost, you need to start paying us EXTRA! 😡. BTW you are so articulate and informative! I am not sure if you are using VOIP at high compression or your microphone is just poorly positioned, but I find it incredibly difficult to make out what you’re saying. My recommendation for a wireless microphone is the Hollyland Lark Max Wireless Lavalier. Keep the great content coming but PLEASE improve your audio 🙏Microphone System

@@VonSail did you pay with Shop Pay? Have multiple RLC accounts? They put all your orders into your "primary" RLC account that has the same email as Shop Pay. Example: you have 5 RLC accounts, bought 1 car for each membership, paid with Shop Pay, all 5 cars go to the RLC account with the Shoo Pay e-mail. Then they cancel 4 cars because the limit is one car per account. That's how it was explained by CS. Of course they can't undo the cancellation, they just said not to pay with Shop Pay anymore. Great customer service huh?

Complain about too little made, now too much made, no stickers, still cant get stuff (though why would anyone worry about not have a now MASS produced "exclusive" item) So many threaten to leave but still stay. Apparently they like the abuse. I don't know.😂😂 Sorry but they are not unique anymore. Much better priced premiums from ither companies out there and PLENTY of retail premium Hot wheels out there. As for OVERDRIVE. so many suckers bought into it and except maybe for the pink car, everything has been easy to get. And ALL are pretty cheap aftermarket right now. $100 wasted imo. You just watch them change a bunch of stuff again next year. I buy very little RLC now. 9 or so in the last 2 years. Thrill is gone my friends. Time to move on.😂

From a buyers point of view, creating instant fake value is to sell products is probably the worst marketing gimmik I've ever seen. Most of this stuff won't have any real value in a couple years simply because there is too much, they've flooded the market to death.
This is true. Ever since they expanded the RLC membership availability and stopped numbering the cars, they really haven’t been “limited editions” or “exclusive”.

@@Anth230 I don't see it as a hobby but more of a past time or obsession. Hobbies are meant to create and buying a HW collection is not creating. Taking HW's apart and modifying them is a hobby and takes great talent to do a good job.

That was my expectation as well, to at least get a drop or two included in Overdrive. Hope you get yours. My other item in the order also hasn’t shipped yet (the Protekto Pacs).

Mini GT or Tarmac Works have chases. They are much harder than any Hot Wheels or Matchbox chases or premium cars to find.

Yeah, main issues seem to be with the ShopPay side. Quite a few people had problems with it during the nft token drop as well.

I use a US forwarding company for all my RLC purchases, always have. As far as Mattel is concerned, I’m sitting in sunny Florida! 😅
Shop pay is the worst avoid using it if possible.
Will probably revert to PayPal again. Anything to try and avoid issues. 😅👍
