    I've just bought a bus in nz, so glad I wasn't the only one who found the floors tough going haha, I got the crow bar into it, my ply was sooo stuck that it stayed attached to the lino rubber 💪🏻🤦‍♀️

      Good luck on your conversion! I found the demo to be the most grueling.

    I am jealous that your floors were screwed in, ours were glued and they were a nightmare. Good work!

    Great video,
    A tip that can be helpful to some, is to Pry up the edge of the plywood up with a pry bar, and sneak a floor jack under there. You can get "tons" of power to pry them up.

      Thanks John! Luckily ours came up without having to use extreme force!

    any1 watching for ideas, save yourself the trouble. Leave the rubber and just pull up the plywood. I used a prybar and a small car jack, hammer in the bar, then jack it up to pop the wood loose (if its old enough wood, don't ruin your bus floors). Took about 3 hours to get down to bare metal. Wood ripped up leaving exposed screws and nails (who nails wood to metal?). Great vids tho :D

      I'd like to add to this great tip:
      Buy or rent yourself an air hammer, aka air chisel. It will speed things up hundredfold, as it is able to cut rubber, cut nails, remove rivet heads, and basically rip through most of the flooring with relative ease. They come in various sizes, and I am renting mine (with air compressor) at $35,- per day which is very reasonable.

    Love your videography! That reference back to "doesn't seem to be too difficult" is hilarious. How hard you all worked!!! Even the little guy & young man. Beautiful family time, though. :)

    I'm having the same issue with the trim that goes around the flooring. The screws heads are rusted and soft and just strip. Had to get the pry bar. Was thinking maybe a metal grinder if all else fails, lol. Thanks for sharing!

      Yep that is usually the progression :) try to screw it out, try to pry it out, then just grind the heck out of it. dynamite is step 4.

    Do the floors have to come out??

    • @ColaVentures
      @ColaVentures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope! But a lot of times people find rust and rotten plywood down there. School buses get pretty banged up over the years and you find some pretty crazy stuff.

    I’m new to this. What is the purpose of taking out the plywood flooring?

    • @ColaVentures
      @ColaVentures  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The floors can be pretty stinky and moldy and it helps to prevent rust.
