I've been lucky to drive all the Eggs, from the newest models including multiple Regeras and Agera RS' (no full Jesko/Gemera yet), going back to the early cars, and it's always amazing to see how pioneering these cars have been. But this CCXR at Esser Automotive is now 15 years old, yet it could still do 250mph (400 km/h) and when it comes to sheer drama and excitement of a car, there isn't really much that can come close! This has to be the one to buy....
@@billiejean6520 at this very moment i dont think he really could afford a good one. most cost over a million and shmees most expensive buy is basically his senna which he admitted was a big jump
@@TheGreener121 Yeah it's legit but it would need a strain gauge and ignition cut to be able to flat shift but it is possible, don't get why he's saying its such a workout because it should essentially makes shifts faster and easier.

Putting your foot down and realising how quick it revs and how quickly you need to shift at 14:48,as it felt like the boost hit, made me smile... as the egg is a totally different ball game altogether!
First saw Top Gear and Jeremy Clarkson drive the CCX to stop smoking, and Stig had the Fastest lap ever on the test track after the crash and the new spoiler was fitted, it held the record for a while, after that I became a Koenigsegg fan, I had no idea the CCXR was a Sequential Shifter?! How cool you got to drive the CCXR, and all the other Eggs you have driven, how awesome.
You’re right Tim. The ccxr was made in so many examples , in so many trims at such a low price ! It’s a car for everyone and the ccxr is the one to buy !!!
Wow Shmee, What an experience and rest assured many of us would love to switch seats with you! This car encapsulates the raw and demanding driving experience that many modern cars fail to deliver. Lucky man indeed...and please buy it👌
The whole point of a sequential gearbox is faster shifts since no clutch is needed once you get going. The clutch is only used when doing a standing start and reversing. Other wise makes zero sense!!!
Shifting a sequential without clutch wears way way more than using the clutch. If you shift without clutch it just bangs the gears but if you use the clutch it's way smoother both for the gearbox and for the driver.
@@LokeGson Negative my friend. Sequential transmissions only want use of the clutch from take off and stopping. They don't have syncro's that require meshing, they've got dog rings. Those dog rings allow you to do clutchless, and flat foot shifting given how strong and fast they allow a gear change to happen. Funny enough, quickest way to hurt a sequential is to baby it in-between shifts. You'll round off the ears of the dogs if you're not BANGING it into gear.
ZuuYork Still there is a lot of stress for all the other components like engine, enginemountings, exhaust, ... A clutchless shift is a big hit. Concerning the gearbox itself, i‘m not sure, don‘t have the knowledge about that. But I could imagine that by using the clutch, there should be no more stress on the dogs because there is less energy to compensate...?
ZuuYork the few sequential track cars i have driven did not cut the ignition and the gears were just banged in without cutting the ignition, maybe that creates more stress?? Radicals for example
