I'm not even from the USA, but i absolutely adore this simple and sincere 2000s-like camcorder interview format. Been thinking about doing something about local hc/alternative scene myself, and this video gave me at least a bit of an idea of what even to ask so it would be interesting to watch lol. Greetings from Russia (and fuck all these political bullshit that trying to divide us)
Lol... I was born and raised in Houston from 1972 - 2010. Was a member of ARA in the late 80s...went to numbers nightclub from around 1986-2007 ish....Now living in Dallas and at age 50 I'm still in the punk/skin scene. It's pretty big up here. Nice to see Houston has something other than fucking country and rap to gravitate to.
Yo you kids are doing it the right fucking way . My partner and I tabled an event at house of j and all I saw was multicultural queer youth building community and sharing resources. I’d rather see that than burnout at the bar with withold heads anyday. -Dev (zealot/shiv)
Some of my favorite bands are from Houston, SNOT, Stark Raving Mad, Really Red. I also like pre-crossover DRI (just saw em twice) but they weren't in Houston long. We drove to Houston from S.A. for some show in the mid 80s, Crumbsuckers maybe, and I remember talk about skinheads coming to fuck shit up. This did happen & the skins waded into the crowd trying to start shit but nobody would fight. They took over the pit a few songs, everyone stopped slamming, nobody would touch them. It's _very cool_ to see this great video of a vibrant, strong scene not long ago. At 56 I still go to _lots_ of shows, mostly touring bands, but I've started going to see local DFW bands, trying to support the scene where I live.
Here’s a calendar of Houston local shows! docs.google.com/document/d/12RUNqKjEOGaQPEyFPWC8c45Bf7IQBO9nOwJ3HuTH2yM/edit U can also follow my insta @temptatszine for documentation on the scene! good luck on your move!

Don’t know what editing program you use, but I recommend you fill the left with the right audio. It’s unbalanced for some of the clips
I’ll try to figure that out
Hell yea brother! What camera did you use?
Younglings. Enjoy it. Reality check though, nothing lasts.
Eh, I recall the days from Cabaret Voltaire and this doesn't seem that far removed.
