Translated to English it says to be prepared to get hit with a stray bullet in the pit. I’m curious if this is a literal translation, a figure of speech/ overexaggerate, or it just translates that way but doesn’t mean bullet??? Thank you in advance 😊
Thank you so much for this. I wished someone would have made this video back in ‘08-‘09 to really show the rise of Japanese metal into the world until today, you made a dream a reality today. Thank you all who worked on this. It’s incredible. ❤️🙏🏽
My partner and I have plans to go to Japan in a year and would love to go to a HxC show!!! The vibe is totally different to here in the states because the passion runs so deep in Japan where I've experienced a lot more banality at shows. If anyone knows where to meet up or how to get to a show in Japan please comment to this because I'd love to meet y'all!!!!
Did you go? How was it? I grew up in the states going to hc shows in the 90s and lived in Japan between 05-09. Loved going to shows while in Japan, long after I was over going to shows in the US. Just a much more fun atmosphere over there.
Following bands on social media is the easiest way to know where and when they are going to play. I live in Tokyo, and I've been to many live houses in the last seven years, bands like OTUS, Loyal to the Grave, Gates of Hopeless, NUMB, know how to put on a show. I'd recommend you to visit Tokyo in December for Nerds Fest.
Just saw Numb, Sand, many others bands.. and Zulu this night. It was incredible. The level of energy, positivity, was astonishing. The japanese hxc scene manages to keep the oldschool spirit while being fierce af 😍✊
Very glad to see the influence of metal spread worldwide, into Japan as well and watch how other cultures digest and make their own out of the mold! Much love fam!!!
As a foreigner in Japan, I'm suprised GaijinPot of all channels uploaded this. I thought Gaijinpot was for job seeking as a foreigner in Japan. Thanks for showing Japanese Hardcore to the world.
Sin duda algo que me ha llevado a Japón en más de una ocasión es la música, RADIOTS fue una banda que me gustó mucho verlos en directo en Shibuya The Game
My two favorite bands came out of Japan. Su19b who were awesome Powerviolence now more Doom/Sludge who formed around 1996. And everyone knows Corrupted! Been a fan of them since 1995 when I first heard “Anciano”. They were the heaviest band out in the scene back then!
Su19b absolutely kills it, whatever release!......ridiculously underrated band, during their pre-straight-doom/sludge, and even nowadays. Corrupted is a total classic as well!......listening to them as I type this now, 'cause you mentioned it - always sofa king dope. I'm honestly much more into Japan's ole'school hardcore, powerviolence, grindcore, fastcore, and noise scenes, over this 90's tough guy/modern beatdown version of hardcore (in general, not just Japan's scene)...... *insert rant that you can feel free to skip* Propagating and the advocation of willfully-minded violence, fueled by purposeful-intent (especially crowd-killing) within a crowd and even a mosh pit itself, is something that I can't and won't stand behind, nor support. That kind of senseless violence crowd/pit violence is exactly what broke up Minor Threat, and CIV's "Soundtrack For Violence", is an anthem those entire hardcore scene could learn to take a lesson from. All that machismo testosterone, gangs, crews.....paired with all that talk about "unity", "family", and "brotherhood" within those scenes - I've seen waaay too many times, how quickly all that preaching goes right out the window, when someone accidentally close-fisted-backhands someone, in or around the pit. haha *end rant* There's a few 90's tough guy hardcore bands that I'll never stop listening to (Earth Crisis, Mushmouth, ect.), and some modern beatdown stuff is cool (End it, Jesus Piece, ect.).....but those scene's vibe hit different with me nowadays - I use to sing in a band, that was actually a part of that 90's scene (Outbreak, NEPA), but while in that band, the guitarist & I discovered Spazz, and that was a rap for us. haha We started a powerviolence band (Stabacadaver), and I've been pretty much involved in that scene (fan and/or band) still to this day, like 20+ years later.
There are definitely a few iconic, extreme Japanese bands that deserve their place in history. Corrupted is one band that no one will ever be able to match. Another example is GISM’s final record. But the bands included in this video just ain’t it.
@@reidellis1988 7 seconds i great! I'm 36 from Belgium, we had a big scene here - check out H8000 Belgian hardcore scene and check out Dead stop, they have some albums on youtube.

That one guy got introduced to hardcore music by the documentary video American Hardcore. He thought, "What is this?" And was so inspired he went back in time to 1993 to see a Sick of it All show but could not get in. He stayed outside anyway and hung out. That is hardcore! Time traveling because you have that much passion for the music. Then he came back to the present and started a real hardcore band and plays his own shows.
yooo wasn’t expecting a cameo from Aaron Heard of Jesus Piece, I been curious to find out about japan’s hardcore scene and I’m glad I came across this, hope to travel one day over there, sending love from Texas 🫡

@@LANGI902 I'd say this isn't Hardcore Punk, it's just "Hardcore" with the Chugga Chugga 90s american thing going on. Hardcore Punk is still alive in japan too
I was never really into hardcore. It sounds too much like metal to my ears, but I like a bit of punk, maybe more on the 70s style, straddling that punk and rock & roll boundary. It is good that Japan does seem to have quite a punk scene, offering a full range of styles. Unlike the west, it has a ton of female bands too, and they seem to be less on the hardcore side.
@@graveyardspliff With hardcore and the more extreme metal, I find it rather like spicy food. People who love really spicy food really need that spice kick, or they find food bland. People who don't like really spicy food find the spice destroys the flavour, and makes the food unpleasantly tasteless and boring. There's no right or wrong, just a preference.
