    Wow. God bless you! I have been home for 2 weeks now after 8 days in the hospital with a horrible Covid attack. Left weak and wobbly. I started physical therapy for walking but this video this morning felt so good and I will do it every morning until I get my strength back. This is perfect because all patients like me can manage is this in bed. Great job! Thank you very much!!

      Faith Hope- Hi. I saw your message, and I was just wondering how things are going for you. Have you regained your ability to walk? I sincerely hope that you are doing much better now. I noticed that you posted this message 6 months ago. I have been confined to a bed for over a year now. I am trying not to give up, but it's hard. ☹ I am sure that you can relate.

    Wonderful video. I have exercised while in bed in the hospital and at home. I even walked the halls with my IV stand while in hospital. Nurses said they hadn't seen anyone so dedicated to staying fit before.

    Just got out the hospital so these exercises are going to help me. Lying in bed for a week weakened my muscles. Thank you

      I had sciatica pain in one leg and used a cane for three weeks to prevent putting weight on my leg. As soon as the pain was gone I went back to using my leg and it’s weak as ever. I’ve actually fallen a couple of times because it literally buckled! Gonna start doing strengthening exercises today!

    thank you so much for this video!! I'm outpatient, but have severe chronic pain, and sometimes flareups leave me bedridden for several days. It's been happening more and more & even on my good days I'm struggling because I've lost so much muscle mass. "beginner" exercise routines just aren't the level I'm at yet

      Just had hip replacement and pretty much bed bound. Down and depressed 😪

      Yeah I'm in a very similar situation myself atm, I've been in a huge decline over the last few months and my fitness is atrocious, started doing a bit of yoga in bed and it is actually helping my mood a bit. I hope you're doing a bit better now

      Nope, you’re definitely not alone. I can barely leave bed at all when my depression just takes over, so I’ve been trying to just do some gentle stretching exercises like these to keep my blood flowing. It’s nothing to be ashamed of - instead we should be celebrating that we are able to do this for ourselves! 💛

      Two months ago, I was a happy, strong, very active man who enjoys the outdoors as well as being at sea as captain of a ship. One night, I started having pains in my lower back. The pain grew grew and grew and I thought perhaps I had kidney stones, something I’ve had before that was very painful. So I went to the hospital only to discover that after many many tests, and scans, and MRIs, and CT‘s, and x-rays… I did not have kidney stones as I thought. By this time, I was no longer able to walk and was placed on a hospital bed. I was diagnosed with Osteomyelitis with discitis! This is something I’ve never heard of before however I had a better than 20% chance of dying from it. But it took away my ability to walk or even get out of bed. Just like that!! It has required a minimum of 12 weeks solid of antibiotics given both IV and orally. However, the discitis was in the advanced stage when they found it and eventually ate through the spinal disc and that disc then collapsed into the disc below, thus crushing one of the biggest nerves that goes into the lower body, and preventing me from walking or being able to get out of bed at all. Now, the only thing I can do is raise my head no more than 30° and I can’t lower my body off this bed, without extreme pain from that crushed nerve. The only solution to this problem is they have two of my disks on my spine replaced with machinery discs that will lift the spine off that nerve and hope that enough of the nerve has survived to allow me to walk again. While I’m rushing to try and get this surgery done, it is a very slow process because of the bureaucracy involved. Finding the correct spinal surgeon in my area is a huge challenge. Getting the insurance to follow along is another challenge. Being able to just be transported around town to have a consult or testing is a big challenge because I now require a medical transport vehicle (nonemergency ambulance with gurney) just to get around. I can’t ride in a normal car or truck because I can’t bend to a 45° or 90° angle. Any attempt could do permanent damage to my spinal cord and spine. So I must remain flat at all times, hence the gurney. My entire life has come to an end and I have lost everything already. So I’m here, not because I’m bored, Not because I’m curious, not because I have depression, but because I don’t have the option of getting out of bed. I am stuck here in this bed for the rest of my life until this surgery happens, if it happens. I’m scared half out of my head! I literally never been more terrified in my entire life. This is a nightmare that began two months ago that never ends. And I am a combat vet, and this still has me scared far worse. And I am here looking for exercise to give me a better chance to walk again someday after surgery happens.

    Im a couple week into this; I was in a hit/run/drag accident everything but my head was broken. I can do SOME thing to help myself

      @@liaburks6215 Don’t lose faith. We will both hold on like Palm Trees in a Hurricane. They go all The way down to the floor but some of them have very deep roots that cannot be shaken. And we will both be fully recovered sooner than expected. Hugs from SE Florida

    I've been bedridden for 12 years. And can't have in house physical therapy because the risk of infection is too high. So this is a great alternative. After I did this a lot slower with several pauses I am very out of breath, my heart is racing and my pain and exhaustion levels went up. Is it still recommended to do these? I could push through this and then nap for a few hours to recover, but am not sure if I would be helping my body or not. I still feel very shaky and have a tremor in my legs 15min. after doing the exercises.

    Tis true being stuck in the bed is very depressing. The more I can move in the bed the better my outlook gets better also

    Currently bedridden in hospital with gout, muscle spasms and osteoarthritis. Can you recommend anything safe that won't make me immediately cry and scream like a maniac? Did that today after they wanted me to get in a recliner...I must've screamed at the top of my lungs at least 20 times. Diagnosed with osteoarthritis as of Saturday. Been dealing with gout since 2015. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and i feel like is only going to make the condition worse. But I know I need to get in that chair but the spasms leave me crying and screaming and wanting me to die because the pain is so bad. But they don't have any other bed options that won't destroy someone. I also started developing a burning sensation in my feet the other day, I can still move both sets of toes, left better than the right. I think I'm getting the knees tapped tomorrow so that will be a huge weight off my shoulders.
    I cannot handle severe pain anymore...any advice from anyone is welcome.

      I don’t know if this helps. But my doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong for a long time. I was also screaming in pain with the burning symptoms you mentioned. When my neurologist looked at my contrast MRI, they discovered that a botched lumbar puncture from 2 years prior had inflamed the arachnoid layer in my spine. By that time it was too late. The pain is still hell and my disability isn’t going anywhere unfortunately. But at least I know what I’m up against. Try and get a contrast MRI done. If the dr gets defensive over anything arachnoid layer related , change the topic and find out more another dr.

      Get better pain meds. I am on 150 μg/h Fentanyl plus highest doze of Tramadol. I'm not free of pain but am at least able to think and sleep most of the time.

    If you make this execices without help it s ok,but if you have an physioteraphist must to do this exercices with oposition,more speed and eficient muscle recovery----sorry for my english 😁

      @@thatonellamawhoissoobsesse8138 It’s probably my heart. I have tachycardia often and POTS. But I suspect it’s something more with my heart because beta blockers so far aren’t helping to do anything except slightly lower my heart rate.

    Great you show this!!! BUT--- Why do you use a computer voice? No warmth. Use real people with real voices to reach your patients. And why the shoes in bed?
