Question is it better to us a slightly bigger hook to not catch the to small bluegill..most of the time you will kill them trying to get your hook back..just a thought

Always good to consider the fish, thanks for your question! Using artificials I have never had issues with gut hooking like you get with live bait bobber fishing sometimes since you feel the bite right away. Smaller lighter wire hooks are also less damaging to the fish. If you are still not convinced my way is the best it's ok, everyone has their own style and you do what lets you sleep good at night.
