so unusual to watch about Chisinau in the eyes of foreigner, a bit proud, thx! but a bit ashamed that our government leaved thing right the same back in 70s :( zero work was done in places like that and one more thing: borsh without sour cream and piece of dark bread - is an act of crime :)
Certainly not the same. I live abroad and I come home to Chisinau once every 6-12 months and I clearly see the improvements. The roads, the buildings, the parks, the shops, come on, Chisinau of today and Chisinau of 2010 even are two majorly different cities. Let’s give credit where credit is due.

Very unusual that you went for the cheapest food. Usually tourists go to the restaurants which doesn't seem expensive for them. On the other hand you had a genuine experience.
I am happy you visited Chisinau. Welcome to Moldova! That canteen was definitely on a cheaper side, but the food did not look bad! In chisinau, we don't have a big tradition of night street-food, but you can always find 24/7 caffees and restaurants. We use to go there after a long night out for a sour hangover soup
I love the way you describe everything! Your energy is amazing! Also, you make simple food sound so delicious 😁 I Would love to see more videos like this 💓

@195Under30, just FYI: at 3:03 thru 3:13 when you were ordering from the lady in the cantine she was talking in Russian with you - not Moldavian/Romania as you mentioned later on after trying out the meat.
first one: real tasty borsch u can find in restaurants, not in "cantina" . second one: our traditional soup is not borsch but "Zeama". third: we have a lot of cafe & bars that work all night
I don’t remember the exact name but it’s the biggest main market in the center of the city. You can’t miss it because it goes on for many blocks in the center
BTW as a romanian its pronounced "Chi-Sa-New" kingdom of castles im actually surprised that theyre still charging in lei, thats ancient back to my grandpas time. Borscht is a staple anything cabbage is historically authentic
Thank you for breaking down the pronunciation! I have heard it pronounced multiple ways. Since I will be visiting Chisinau soon, I want to pronounce the name correctly.
No it’s not, a real Moldovan cuisine doesn’t have borş which is a part as the russian cuisine as the pelimene and so on. These places are the ones who have rats, this man hasn’t tried the real deal, the good stuff if you know what I mean. If you want to try Moldovan food don’t do to these places, ‘cuz real Moldovan food is served by someone who knows the language and the culture. And btw I had seen rats on those places so don’t fool me around. At my school’s canteen there were spiders in my friends spaghetti.
@@murapanas2182 no, you are mistaken))) all the rats, spiders and lice, and bedbugs are now in France, Britain, in Europe. Moldovans and Russians are not tasty, I suppose)))

Why does Google/youtube translate the word "Moldova" into the Ukrainian "mova"? Because Moldova no longer exists?Ahhh... only slovenian lenguage understand
Before you say that there is no Moldovan language in Moldova, it is worth asking local Moldovans who studied the Moldovan language before they changed the language to Romanian - this is one language
thats because soviets changed its name so that we wouldnt be attached to romanians, ask 90 yo people what language they speak and theyll surely say romanian

The beetroot borș should be served with some sour cream.
