- Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herezgovina- The historic city of Sarajevo is home to some of the most incredible sights in all of the Balkans. However, aside from the many museums and streets to visit, the food scene in this city is incredible. From traditional Bosnian desserts like Tufajie and Sampita to savory eateries serving authentic home-cooked food, Sarajevo has all the Bosnian food you could dream of trying. This has to be one of my favorite food cities in the world and in this video, I show all the incredible food on offer in this city!
Thank you so much for watching!

The Burek being prepared straight like that is just how its made at scale in shops. No one makes it like that at home, this is basically industrial grade burek, it takes less space in the oven and on serving trays, and serving sizes can be controlled better.
Burek is a pie with meat, all other pies (with potatoes, with spinach, with cheese and...) are not called burek, but pie with potatoes: = krompirusha, with spinach = zeljanica, with cheese =: sirnica, etc...😀🇧🇦❤️👌
Schaum = foam in German. Pita is the eastern word for 'cake' or 'pie' layer below it. So that cake has a localized name - Šampita (Schaumpita).
Basically it's a mix of east and west as it is usual in Bosnia. As you saw, the "East meats West' spot is very close to that bakery so it's only appropriate to eat a cake that has mixed two worlds in one :)
I am very pleased that you decided to visit my hometown! Thank you very much for that! I hope you leave Sarajevo with good memories and good feelings. And don't forget, whoever drank the water from the wells on Bascarsija will come back! I would like to thank you very much for your visit and wish you all the best for the future. From a warm Bosnian heart...
P.S. Another little tip from me, did you know that Bosnia and Herzegovina has more waterfalls than Germany, France, Italy and Spain combined?! And you haven't even seen one... 🤣
Thank you so much for the support!! I’m actually going to be visiting waterfalls here in Bosnia soon so make sure to stay tuned for those videos!!
Thank you for visiting our country! But have you ever heard about the tip?
Is it mandatory in Bosnia?
Amazing!
Fun tour

Sarajevo or in general Bosnian Food is the BEST in balkans❤. Amen😂
quality production
The problem is when you grow up and live 40 years of your life on that food, you move away and almost never had a chance to find it around... The only way is - make it your own!
That is exactly what I did :) But I also think that's the best way to preserve the culture, instead of relying on others to preserve it - do it yourself!
You didn't get kajmak (sour cream) with your Cevapi? No ajvar!!??
Burek je samo sa mesom, ostalo su pite.Krompiruša,zeljanica, sirnica, maslanica, vareni krompir, jajuša,tikvenica, kupusnica itd....
What is the white stuff on Burke plate?
That is sour cream
@@195Under30 thanks! Loved lunch too.
Halva is pretty common in the Balkans, it's not unique to Bosnia :)
But original from Ottoman Bosnia
Mhm sure, is this why it's called "alva" in Serbia? You guys hate letter H more than you hate Bosnians.
it originates from Persia, not from the Ottoman Empire nor Bosnia
