Thank you for watching my first gingerbread house! There are a couple of popular questions that I have been getting that I wanted to share with all of you! Will you make more? Yes! My kitchen is currently undergoing a reno, but once it is done I hope to make many more! Do you have the template? I didn't end up keeping this template but I hope to post templates for future houses. How long did it take? I worked mostly nights and weekends and it took about 3-4 weeks!
hello! love your work!! I am planning to make a gingerbread hogmeade village from harry potter! but I think I need a little help from the software you use at the beginning of the video
Oh! So glad to have just found you! Do you have the directions and measurements to go along with this wonderful video? I will gladly pay for said directions--I HAVE to try my hand at this!!!! Please share!
I live in Macon, GA. Hi. I loved this video but I have a question. When you glued the pieces down, are you using white glue like school glue or are you using something like royal icing?
Wow! It's refreshing to see a gingerbread house video that actually shows how much planning went into it. Like, this didn't magically turn out fine - you worked hard for it!
I’m going to just assume they meant to hit the upvote button and hit the downvote instead by accident, I know I’ve done that a few times. (I *hope* I’ve never done so without noticing and correcting myself!)
I am mesmerazed with your dedication to add different textures of snow to this house. And the details in the christmas tree are so top!! I'm so glad I found this video!
This turned out amazingggg! One note I have though from other peoples homemade gingerbread houses. when you first are making the pieces you just score the outlines and then when they first come out of the oven and they are nice and soft, you cut them out entirely. This prevents the edges from burning.
Nicely done- well-planned and designed with an aesthetic that honors the material. Pretty but retains a sense of gingerbread, not all polished where it looks like ceramic. Many years ago, I made gingerbread houses for weeks during the holidays to sell at small regional shops. I must have made over 200 in those five years. Two things for anyone wanting to do their own. First, I used dry caramel to assemble the major pieces (dry caramel is simply melted white sugar). Unlike royal icing, it sets almost immediately so that things do not need to be buttressed. It takes a little practice, but so worth it. Second, color the royal icing brown to match the gingerbread for areas that might show and are not part of a snow detail. Much less glaring.
Wow good idea on using brown icing when patching them up! Too bad caramel won’t work for us that stay in tropical country, I used melted sugar one year and my windows became a pool of water in my gingerbread house after two days 😂 Very nice video and amazing work! Love all the details! ❤
I just have to say I love how u showed every part of the process- even the messy bits! It's so encouraging to see an expert baker that still spills sugar and makes a mess sometimes! (btw it turned out amazing!!)
Love this! I make architectural models in gingerbread with my husband every year, and our process is largely the same except we work from photos and figure out the height/width ratios from there. Will try sketch up! A few suggestions to make things easier that I learned by trial and error- use really stiff Royal icing for assembly and wipe the excess on the outside away with your finger or a damp cloth instead of scraping it when it's dry with a blade. Definitely bake first and cut windows while it's hot from the oven for crisp lines the first time. To square of edges on the other pieces I shave off with a very sharp bread knife or rasp to bevel sharp corners. Another great option for Windows is sheet gelatin as well, creates a crystal clear finish with beautiful "lead work"! Keep up the great work and enjoy 😀
I came for this awesome gingerbread house but stayed (subscribed) for the details. This was not the usual four walls and I appreciate every minute of it! THANK YOU❤️❤️❤️
I watched this whole thing amazed by your dedication and skill, then came down to the comments and was FLABBERGASTED when I saw that your subscribers were not in the millions yet! This is incredible!
BEAUTIFUL!!! Now when can I move in? Just kidding, but it is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! If I could afford it I would love to live in a life sized version built with bricks instead of Gingerbread!
Reminds me of some of the houses in Saint Paul and Stillwater Minnesota. Beautiful! I could live in a house like that. With Midnight snacking it wouldn't last too long!
Sinceramente, la casa 🏡 le quedó espectacular, preciosa, cada detalle, se nota que fue un arduo trabajo, le felicito por su excelente labor. Muchas gracias por compartir su video. ¡Dios bendice su gran arte!
Wow, this was truly wonderful! Watching you make this house was marvellous and it’d be truly hard to not be feeling some holiday joy after seeing this! I’m inspired to go on my own long gingerbread architectural journey now haha. This was the first video of yours I’ve seen- so awesome! I’m glad I stumbled upon it, thanks so much for making and sharing.
I am not even half way through the video and I’m thoroughly enjoying this! So awesome! I subbed and will follow on Instagram. My husband and I are preparing to build a gingerbread house together too now. I’m letting the gingerbread cool down from the oven and was watching videos while it cools down and came across your video 🥰
Thank you!!! I really wish I had kept the template I made to measure! But I really recommend designing it in a free online 3D modeling software like SketchUp increasing your template from that!! ❤️
Amazing!! Absolutely love it!! What mm depth did you roll your structural pieces to? And was that chocolate fondant, or moulding chocolate you used for the support columns & balustrade?
Just found this video and wow, that's a spectacular house! As I'm a newbie to gingerbread houses, I was wondering what some of the trim pieces and porch railings were made of. Gum paste? Fondant? Thanks for making this video - it looks like it was a labor of love!
Thank you!! I was a newbie too so it was so much trial and error! The trim was made out of fondant but the areas that needed a little more support were made of gum paste since it seems to dry a little harder. I'm so glad you liked it!!
@@JamisonJoy thank you so much for the reply - much appreciated 😊. I have so much to learn, but I'm excited to try. Videos like this are SOOO helpful because it actually shows you how stuff is done! Nicely lighted and edited as well. Thanks again. ❤️
This is beyond incredible!!! Just WOW! I don’t have words! But I have to know, did you end up eating it? 😂 Is there even a way to preserve it? I know I’m 2 years late to this post but I’ve been looking for a tutorial on how to make something similar for decor purposes.
This is amazing! You are so very talented to design this and decorate it down to the very tiniest of pieces! Words just don’t do justice for this beauty! Thanks for sharing and ❤️fromTX
This is definitely the type of task I always want to take on. Thank you for sharing this. I am definitely inspired. The amount of time this will take me though I will have to plan for next year lol I don't think 25days is enough time, and the amount of royal icing I would have to make! 😬 (I would definitely do a modern mansion:) that's just my style )
Wow! Thought you were using raw dough, but it was fun paste/fondant - lol. Baking a round on the rolling pin blew my mind! I would use a wine bottle. And your use of the Exacto knife?--so brilliant! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills!❤️👏
I am very impressed with how you can make this house. I was wondering if you can do the chocolate gingerbread house replica of the life-size gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian resort and spa at Walt Disney World? Please!
In awe of all the hard work that went into this!! You did an absolutely fabulous job here. Question-- what recipe did you use? I'm looking for a good, firm, stable gingerbread recipe that won't fall apart, and yours looks quite good!
This is amazing, it both inspires me to do this and makes me want to never do this haha. Beautiful work. Throughout this video they were applying the royal icing messy and then in my head I'm like no way is that going to look clean and like snow and then seconds later BOOM, gorgeous snow textures. This taught me that clean lines in certain areas make a huge impact, and you can let things be a little more free form in others and it will still make an amazing effect. The pine tree specifically I was like no way and then the next shot it looked like a real freaking tree. Love it!!!
Trick is to not cut the dough exact before baking. Cut ever slightly extra or a little overage to allow shrinkage during baking. You can always mildly file down to fit. Rather than not have enough.
I was wondering... if you were to sell the houses exactly like the one you made in this video... how much would you charge? I wanna know, because I am willing to pay for one and have it sent to me. It looks so good and beautiful. I want to eat it right now!!! Wonderful work! You truly are an artist.
Amazing! Do you have any archittectual knowledge? This is really awsome...love the windows what did you use ? Isomalt? I hope this hous will have many many years to com! Pritty and romantik and just wow.

This is absolutely GORGEOUS! Well done! I think the 4 people who “disliked” this need some hugs.
Thank you!! ❤️
AMEN!
No, how about a kick in the 🍑? Merry Christmas 🎄
I’m going to just assume they meant to hit the upvote button and hit the downvote instead by accident, I know I’ve done that a few times. (I *hope* I’ve never done so without noticing and correcting myself!)
This was unbelievable! I was exhausted just watching. What a job!
I am mesmerazed with your dedication to add different textures of snow to this house. And the details in the christmas tree are so top!! I'm so glad I found this video!
Now this what I call a gingerbread house. Details details details great job!!

Thank you so much for letting me know. This is great information! I will definitely be doing this for my next one!!
Wow,too beautiful to eat,a lot of patience was needed to make this, well done,

I get so much satisfaction watching cookie/ house decorating. This is sculpture work!
This is stunning. Wonderful work. This will go into my list of Christmas video content to watch during December every year.
Im so glad this is going to be part of your Christmas traditions!!
I don't know why TH-cam brought me here, but this is amazing!
Ha! And I can't even make four walls and a roof stay together. Great work!
The most amazing most beautiful gingerbread house I’ve seen. You are truly a magnificent artist. I love your video.❤️
I love the music you chose. It was perfect!

Love this!! Good luck!
The sugar windows were amazing!
THE “GLASS” WINDOWS!!!! ✨😱✨
The amount of work put into this just for someone to take it apart and eat it… I could never. Just the thought of it breaks my heart ✋😭
Reminds me of some of the houses in Saint Paul and Stillwater Minnesota. Beautiful! I could live in a house like that. With Midnight snacking it wouldn't last too long!
I would definitely haunt this house if I was dead. Looks great.
WOW... Excellent job - Very beautiful gingerbread house. 😍🎀Fantastic !!!
Omg! That looks almost exactly like the house I grew up in.

That was pretty impressive! I hope you have more to come for this year.
It is a delight to see your creativity and perfect organization. Thank you.

How come this has less than 1000 views? 😱 This is so creative, and inspired me to go do some baking!
Also I'm very curious to know how long this took to make?
You made my day!! From starting with the design and 3D modeling to finishing took about 3 weeks (nights and weekends)!!!
Wow. What amazing precision and work. Loved every bit of it including the music video and final product.

So good! If I could like twice, I would.
This is stunning! A true work of art. What is the unbaked brown stuff you use for detailing? Fondant? Chocolate? Unbaked dough?
💕 it's fondant and gumpaste!
Ahhhhhh this is so cool
That is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful!!!!! Got so many tips from your video, was wondering what your glazy frosting mix was made from.
Just regular royal frosting, super easy!
This is pure magic
Very inspiring!
