It's basically molten's version of the official NBA game ball. Since they both are not that great at the start, but once broken in, it's like the best basketball to play with
I bought my son this ball, and he plays ball 4 or 5 days a week and only uses this ball for about 2 months now he loves it, he sweats alot and seems the more sweaty you get the better the grip gets , if I buy another ball it will be a molten again , like you said great ball, and I noticed most young hoopers think aww that ball is cheap ain't no good but the real hoopers and old heads are like your tripping that is one of the best balls made!!!!
I try to tell people. Once you get use to playing with a leather basketball you will never be want to play with a composite again. Especially the Evolution. It’s just better. But people are afraid because it’s different and they think the plush spongey feel makes a basketball good. But it actually makes it worse.
Got a molten GL7, spalding game ball & bg5000. It’s really easy to break the ball in compared to the two balls & it’s a lot softer. GL7 & spalding takes forever to break in specially no one wants to play with those. Love the feel of the leather being grippy specially when there’s moisture without being sticky like composite balls. 🙂
Played with the molten bg3800 and you are right about everything you said, the way it bounces off the backboard is alot different than usual but in a good way once u get a good feel for it, also the jumpshot does have to be more fundamentally sound but I like it because it forces you to be more precise. Overall a great ball once broken in. Anyone who buys one please don't judge it off the first few times playing with it. After a while you will adjust

I want to get an outdoor ball cause I am not trying to destroy my Evolution outside. The BG3800 seems to be my choice for my next outdoor only ball. But with that being said, I’m really curious to see how the Molten balls are. I want to get another indoor only ball too but since the BG5000 is over a bill, I might just get the BG4500 to go with my Evolution. For some reason, I don’t love the way the Wilson Evolution bounces. But the Evolution is what 90 percent of everyone that plays at the gym plays with. Great review though! Definitely going to check out the Molten.
My son has 2 Evolutions and the Molten BG4500. The BG4500 is the one he uses the most now. He still loves the Evolution, but likes that his ball is easier to identify. He got the World Cup edition, so it has colored markings. The feel is like a mix of the Evolution and the Evo NXT. More grippy than the Evo NXT, but not as spongey as the Evolution. I have a BG5000. Feels nice to hold, but its not broken in yet, so its slippery. Surprisingly, the slipperyness isn't as noticeable when regular dribbling. But super noticeable when shooting.

How long did it take you to break it in? Because Mine is now 2 months old and it feels slippery. I had one in my hands that felt very gripy and i Wonder if it just takes more time or if mine is just awkward. Would appreciate an answer✌🏻
Something interesting I noticed is that all the bg5000 balls I have seen and the “valid threw 2030” but on mine it says “level 1 2023-2027” so does that mean it’s fake?
nah you’re good the newer batches say 2023-2027 cause molten just renewed their FIBA contract to be the official ball. The 1st batch of BG5000s always said “valid thru 2023” cause at that time Molten hasn’t renewed its contract with FIBA yet and it was set to expire in 2023z
Yea, it definitely does get better. If your hands are dry it's gonna feel slippery but once they get a little sweaty the ball noticeably gets more grip
I have both wilson nba game ball and molten bg5000. So far i have played with wilson for ~20 hours but still feel not so good that i'm running out of patience. However bg5000 is much easier to be broken in, although i only played with it for 5~8 hours, it already became much better than the new one.
Same, played 8 times now around 12-14hrs and it is really nice already. I always put a little of my sweat on the ball. I think this also helps to break it in a little faster. Like I wrote in another comment here I also have a real dark brown nba game ball and tbh I can't play with those sticky composites any more. Too much grip but slippery af in hot sweaty summer sessions.
I see some Molten hoopers in here, I wanna ask if anyone has a OUTDOOR only Molten suggestion? I have tried finding a model that lauds it as a strength but no such luck.
great work mate, just some advise for future videos you could possibly pre write the main things you want to say because the pace of the vid has a few of pauses or you cold possibly write what you want to say then cut the clip and say you next point. ( be more upbeat)
I’ve been playing with real leather basketball my whole life. But since I moved to the USA, I can’t play properly because the Wilson Evolution messed up my rhythm and feeling, especially when I shoot the ball, I flick my wrist during the release and the Evolution stay in the air for too long and it doesn’t go down straight due to the shape of the basketball seams. And Evolution gets bad when sweat gets on it….
@@Liquid_Ice24 The basketball should not make the players feel like: “Oh! I can shoot better with this basketball than this than that”. But Wilson try to make the basketball easier to shoot..but not good for dribbling and consistency.

I noticed playing leather balls and then playing a composite it feels easier in many ways. But I love leather balls, also have the Molten GL7 which is so nice and the GL7x which compared to the GL7 is trash tbh. I will definetly try to get a 5000 this year and a Wilson NBA Game Ball when available again here in Germany.

It took me a couple weeks to about a month. I was playing with it about 2 times a week while dribbling in my basement daily.

I understand why it's not, but based on performance I wish it was. And I actually found that it made shooting with synthetic leather easier.
