That was disappointing. There was a lack of content from the Twitter side of things. Ever since Twitter bought Musk to court, all their conversations were made public.
That's the problem. Twitter has always been devoid of content.

I don’t think that’s what was happening here. This was not a pure business move for Musk. I think the goal from the beginning was to expose Twitter for what it was to increase public awareness of just how fake Twitter is and has been since it had such a drastic effect on politics and even dictated the outcome of elections. Twitter up until this point was an artificially manufactured consensus platform.
There is more downside coming because current economic conditions can not and will not sustain any meaningful long term bull run for the near future. It's not me being bearish for the sake of being bearish. It's looking at the overall picture and there's really nothing overly positive going on right now.
Don't let price volatility make you lose sight of the fact that Bitcoin, Crypto and Web3 are here to stay, will outlast many future generations.

I think Elon initially thought "Let me make an offer they can't refuse", obviously the twitter's board couldn't refuse. However Elon then realized he's offering 'more than a lot', that's when he wanted to get out of the deal. But when he realized it would be a long legal battle , he said "Ahh let me just get it over and done with" .He does love Twitter as a platform, even though he knows that he may have overly paid for it. I think even at $30bn, the shareholders would've agreed a sale
This really isn't a surprise since it is coming from the guy who alluded to having secured funding to take Tesla private. He just doesn't think before acting and sometimes it backfires on him.
Yet another case proving that Musk is nowhere near as smart as himself and his fans tend to believe. And with rising interest rates, this acquisition going to cost him dearly.
@Simulation L Well he does own Twitter now and you can't really say he lost unless you know Twitter's projected revenue for the next 7 years or how Twitter's market cap is expected to grow in the next years. Now imagine how Parag,he was with the company since 2011 and suddenly fired within a year on THE CEO position.... $10 might not seem a lot to you Simulation, but definitely is a lot on the homeless.... Perhaps $60mn can make you smile, that doesn't mean Twitter's CEO would be happy to receive $60mn and let go of his position, particularly if he had plans to grow his shares in the company

All journalists protect their sources. They always have. It's called journalistic integrity. WSJ almost lost several of their journalists after the 2016 election, when Murdock told them to write Trump propaganda pieces. He then backed off, probably thinking that it wouldn't hurt to have one news outlet in his empire that isn't complete trash. WSJ and The Atlantic are the only American conservative publications I still trust. Not blindly, though. I don't trust anything blindly.

The board of Twitter sees one of their most prolific and high profile users is a seemingly successful billionaire business boy that has a lot of criticisms of the platform.
They give this 'successful billionaire' one of those nice, cushy, highly paid seats on the board, find out he's an idiot and freeze him out.
With his ego dented, he starts angrily throwing money around and agrees to purchase the company and take it private, giving him sole control.
Reality eventually kicks in and he tries to back out but he gets legally forced to buy the company that he's already significantly devalued, for the amount be agreed to pay.
Presumably, when Twitter collapses, he's fine but his creditors lose the best part of 44 billion. But they can still sue for negligence causing the collapse and bankrupt him.
It'll be interesting to see where this story goes.
