You might find it a bit far fetched but the same protocol that controls the lights on the city light also controls the Bluetooth connection for a product (a wildlife camera enclosure) which uses motion detection... Which he now has to finish... The contract he's currently working on is finishing soon...
@@Kawasakinger yeah... I'll do a vid of the last update my brother did (a good few months back) on how it worked... You'll see what I mean... If you sealed it in... You'd literally have to carry a laptop round with you to reset it each time...

Firmware is finished. Bro is just going to start on the App. The only issue at the moment (and it may be a non issue) is that when the bike is started the light must be able to connect to the app to be told what it was last doing. As i say it may be a non issue as i did say that most people do tend to have a phone with them....however he did say he may be able to change the code but that would be more time. We have a totally configured app on the pc to control the light along with a kind of designer part so you can make your own routines with the light (there are 3 rows, 3 different colours). Which while great as its all there - you cant very well take a laptop with you everywhere you go!! Another issue (and again maybe a non issue) is the pc software on the laptop keeps dropping its connection but, were pretty sure its the bluetooth dongle. His mac never misses a beat. Howzat.

Theyre not really problems as such...but just take more time....i did say to him if the firmware is finished then do the most basic of app with literally one button to get it flashing. Oh the other thing is the hardware will change so we can fit a plug to the main board....more robust than just soldering the cables in.
@@Kawasakinger From a case point of view no, We toyed with 3d printed cases but they just dont look like the original....assuming you find a second hand unit, (which is what i did) and then cut round it with a dremmel to split the housing, then just feed the wire through cut the plug off the unit you bought and solder on to our unit. We dont have that kind of investment to do a completely replaceable unit. I think splitting an oem unit is the best way as it looks like its not been changed.
Thats ok. We will sell it without the case if people want to fit it into their own light. As i say...just waiting for my brother to finish the code...
