GBO2 GM Spartan (BD Squad): They put the Master Chief in the soda!

This video contains two recent matches I had with the LV1 GM Spartan on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 400-450 cost raid with very high melee damage, smoke for temporary stealth, two instant stuns and great MA break ability. It suffers from drawbacks for being this good at close range though; such as having the mobility of a general rather than that of a raid, slow swap time for its instant stuns as well as having mediocre ranged damage. This suit has been out for a long time now but is sadly not seen too often since it is competing with the arguably much superior Metal Spider, but it is still pretty fun to play despite that. Its primary ranged weapon is a bazooka with 1250 power, 10 ammo, 6.7 seconds cooldown, 12 seconds reload, 1.7 seconds swap time, 375m range and 80% stagger value. This instant stuns on hit and has good splash radius. You can combo into beam pistols to easily stagger tank mode Hildolfr or as a way to break through Maneuver Armor.
Its primary melee weapon is a heat knife with 2400 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds cooldown, 80%/64% combo modifier and 100% side swing modifier. This has short reach and the same moveset as the Aqua GM beam pick, but the fast swap time and your multiple stun options makes it easy to use. The downswing often misses knocked over enemies unless they fall on their side, so be ready to do alternative combos if needed.
Its first sub weapon is a pair of beam guns with 500 power, 20% heat, 15 seconds overheat, 0.5 seconds swap time, 150m range, 2083 DPS and 20% stagger value. Although these have short range, they have very high DPS which makes them useful for using either after a stun or knockdown for damage. They can stun without overheating but you need perfect accuracy to do it. They also deal extra damage to legs.
Its second sub weapon is a shoulder missile launcher with 1000x2 power, 2 ammo, 6.5 seconds cooldown, 13 seconds reload, 1.3 seconds swap, 300m range and 10%x2 stagger value. This fires two quick successive missiles that instant stun and follow your reticle. They are stop to fire but have minimal firing lag and a generous splash radius. You can also fire off one at a time by swapping after firing.
Its third sub weapon is a smoke discharger with 1 ammo, 20 seconds reload time and 1.5 seconds swap time. This grants LV1 Stealth for 10 seconds upon use.
Its fourth sub weapon is a hand grenade with 1100 power, 3 ammo, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 13 seconds reload, 1 second swap and 50% stagger value. These generally aren't too useful, but its your only real option if you are forced to shoot the support from mid-range.
The LV1 GM Spartan has 16000 HP with 16 ballistic resistance, 9 beam resistance and 17 melee resistance. It has fairly high HP relative to its size, but melee generals will still delete you if you get caught in a combo. It has LV2 Maneuver Armor and LV1 Emergency Evasion for defensive skills
It also has 130 (133 including ground affinity) walking speed, 195 boosting speed, 60 (66 including affinity) turning speed and 60 thrust. This level of mobility is basically the same as what generals get at this cost, with some generals being faster, and basically every other raid being faster as well. It lacks Forced Injectors so be wary.
Overall I think that the GM Spartan can be pretty good in the right situations, but it isn't super powerful or anything either. Back when it first came out I think the concept made sense, a raid with multiple stuns that could take generals on in a 1v1 and potentially come out on top, at the cost of having trash mobility and weak mid-range DPS. But I don't think it really works that well in this meta unless you only play on close range maps like City Ruins or Arctic Base, since it lacks the required mobility to close the distance and can't reasonably shoot the support to death from range. I think it might be nice if it got a small buff to patch up some of the issues, like buffing the range mod up to around 15 (from 5 where it is right now) as well as giving it hand grenades that deal more damage, maybe even buffing the beam pistols up to 200m range. It isn't a bad suit though, so I recommend trying it if you are playing on a map that is good for melee suits. Thanks for watching and I hope that you enjoyed it!

Massive fan of this suit as a F2P who doesn't have the spider. Smoke helps a bit with ambushes and getting that downswing feels goooooood. I have a bad habit of trying to downswing downed enemies though, and the stab goes wide on slimmer ones.

Honestly i like this suit a bunch. even if it isnt op, its a lot of fun and my melee focused setup lets it tear things to shreds. Metal spider is fun too. Btw i just pulled an Efreet Jaeger and gave it a try.. a stealth sniper general. It sounds obscene and in my testing it seemed pretty fun. whats your opinion on it?
