I own a 2008 Suzuki SX4, bought it for $3,200 with 82,000 mi on it 3yrs ago. It was located with a flat tire and check engine light on in the back corner of a used car lot and looked like it had sat in the woods for years. This has been the BEST CAR I’ve EVER OWNED! It’s at 188,000k miles now, have driven it 24hrs straight from one side of country to the other in winter and summer multiple times. Have never had any issues with this vehicle and will definitely be getting the same exact vehicle for my next one due to its reliability. Still drives like new and only now have replaced inner, outer tie rods. Have also only changed two calipers. Have never been able to get check engine light off and it’s still going strong! This car just keeps on going, it’s crazy.
On December the 14th, 2022, my girlfriend was in a head on collision in a 2009 Suzuki SX4 like this one and her car burst into flames on impact! I heard the crash from inside my home and ran to the scene. When I saw the front of the car literally disintegrated I thought she was dead. Miraculously, she walked away from the crash without any noticeable injuries. She did end up with compression fractures in her back and a neck injury that will require three surgeries, but somehow she survived! The car she impacted with with a 5-series BMW and that card was just as destroyed. Unfortunately for the driver, she suffered a horrific compound ankle fracture and almost lost her foot. This was caused by some asshole speeding in a brand new Hyundai. He never stopped and rear ended my girlfriends Suzuki forcing her head on into on coming traffic. All I can say is that this Suzuki handled that impact unbelievably. I never in a million years would have thought that a little Suzuki would hold up in a head-on crash like this one did. She certainly escaped death for sure. Thank you to Suzuki for designing and engineering a super safe vehicle. If you still make automobiles in the US I would certainly buy another.
