Looking forward to trying the dirt meter myself, but I would be surprised if I find much deep down dirt in my thin carpets. Would love to take a Kirby to my next holiday cottage, but space will be at a premium in the car. We’ll be right by the sea, so I bet there will be loads of sand in the carpets.
i find the carpet shampoo system is the way to go, I have a legend 2 kirby and I like the great job the shampooer does and I like it better than the steam cleaners. The kirby scrubs dirt and more dust mites out of carpet due to the brush roll scrubbing the foam deep into the carpet.
We bought the same model in the 80's after all the hype and pushy sales men and we found that most of the water was left in the carpet after a wet wash clean. Took a couple of weeks to dry! Hasn't been used since. We were thinking of getting a Bissell soon. Thanks for your upload.
Use Kirby dry foam for years on my white carpet for years. Kept them like new and so quick and easy to use. Then I tried a Vax spinscrub, it took hours to clean the carpets. Then at least a week to dry, started to smell awful and mouldy. Will go back to my Kirby dry foam!!!!
I was hoping to see you rip the inner bag open at the end of the video to see what it had removed from the carpet in total! But never mind! Looks to have done an amazing job even I’m surprised at how well it done!😁
I reckon if you do it a couple more times, it should come back to original. I've used it once a year on a carpet from brand new, and it has kept it looking new.
NumaticVacuum The problem with the carpet though is the backing is falling apart, it's from probably the 60s... I reckon part of the grit is getting pulled up from underneath it. My parents are putting off getting new carpet as all the floorboards need work and the whole downstairs is in the same carpet! Wouldn't surprise me if they just leave it and take the small hit when selling the house, would be easier!
That did such a wonderful job!!!! Well done. Great vid Sam xxx
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing mate. My favourite kirby 😍
I have the same model kirby vacuum and Yes me too my favourite kirby as well. I reconditioned mine with my past vacuum cleaner repair skills.
Fantastic job Sam. I live on the beach, so I wish I had a legend living with me. Lol.

Vacuum Cleaner Collector/Fixer Ah sorry! It wasn't a new bag anyway so wouldn't have been honest
Beko1987
Ahhh no worries
"Here we have a full tray of ... almost mud" 😂😂😂😂

I actually have to say I am shocked! You not had a dirty air Hoover over them lately? 😉
NumaticVacuum No, Mum likes her Miele cylinder and doesn't use the ruddy turbo head
Beko1987 I thought there had to be a logical explanation! Phew. 😝
