The part were it says "its unfinished, but its shiny and brand new" has to be some reference to how Deltarune isnt finished yet, but everyone is already super hyped. Also, the "and now its finally free" reminds me of how the game is a free game, rather than one you have to buy. Its sort of like.....
The concept of Gaster, and Toby himself, are one in the same in this context?
Perhaps. Toby made some tweets leading up to Deltarunes announcement in the form of a charecter. Most assume Gaster.

The core is what is referenced. Sans and Gaster are time travelers from Undertale, there to make sure that "it" doesn't happen again. What is "it"? Only Toby knows. The "verge of connection" is Gaster knowing that time will fuse, hence the same characters. However, time changes people, nodding to some changes in character.
Technically only Deltarune Chapter 1 is free. I believe we found at the future chapters will cost money from a Nintendo Direct that ported Deltatrune to the Switch. But still a pretty clever look!

I have a theory that he's not trying to get back to his own world (either Undertale or Deltarune) but is trying to contact our world, and making the connection with us is actually what shattered him across time and space. Idk its just a thought, it would make Deltarune way more meta than even Undertale.

I didn't suspect for the song to end like this. Very mellow and calm. I was expecting a beat drop and you were going to run the chorus again but louder and more epic in a way. But I'm not complaining, it's a amazing song none the less. Everything felt smooth but rough and sharp at the same time. And the lyrics were very clever. But there were other aspects that's also felt heavy, but easy in a way... So I guess you can say I'm trying to say the song is...

Don't you get it? The chorus is Gaster trying to leave the void, to get the power that Kris has. The chorus is well planned and is the elephant in room in terms for the song. But in the end, Kris responds to Gaster. He declines his offer and says that the power was all for him. After the first sentence from Kris you can even hear gaster, furious trying to interfere but Kris pushes him away, repeats his sentence, and leaves him in cold silence. Gaster couldn't befriend Kris, and is left to live alone in the void.

Well it really wouldn't sound like a game-based song unless you know what it's talking about.
That's what I like about Nate's original fan songs. Most of them are legitimate songs that aren't corny or painfully obvious what they're inspired by or based on.

This is beautiful, I forgot just how incredible Nate’s voice is. I’ve always loved listening to him... You probably won’t see this comment Nate, but if you do, just know that it was your let’s plays that helped me come out of my shell, I made a few really good friends because of your videos. And not only that but when I was in a very dark time, your songs, no, not your songs, but you I guess, or at least your talent and ability to put yourself out there made me feel confident and comfortable enough to start singing for others. And for that I thank you.

This song is great. I love it, but there is one thing. I feel like it’s somewhat incomplete. It ends in a somewhat strange way. I expected one more chorus to play after that, but it just ended. Once again I still love this song to death though, just like your others. Keep up the good work.

Has anyone else noticed that in the description the lyrics say “feel it flowing through my bones” and that you can here that yet the video misses out the word flowing. If you don’t believe me change the playback speed and look at the video.

i just unlocked a whole subset of memories
I never really got to experience undertale. And almost all of the game was spoiled for me so i didnt really grow a strong connection to it. But deltarune is almost like a new beginning for me, And I finally feel as if I'm apart of this fandom now! I'm not sure why but this song made me feel my first hint of nostalgia for all that's happened on this crazy ride Toby's put us through!

The lyrics of this are so amazing. I think that this illustrates the story well. My understanding of the story (Which is probably wrong, it's probably not as epic as this and I'll have to make an Au.) is that ghaster reached out to you, and you made a world together, inserting yourselves, him as the strange man, and you as kris. you shifted the world, made it more fun. But then the world began to reject you, leading to Kris throwing out your soul, and becoming independent. The classic story of creator vs creation.
With regard to the Kris idea, the dialogue of characters you interact with make it seem more like you only recently took control of Kris and they've been trying to reject you all day, as people constantly asked if something was wrong or if they were sick. They also imply a pre-existing personality through their mean spirited pranks and how they apparently used to try and look more like their family by wearing devil horns.
Probably it's more along the lines that Gaster made Kris be your vessel without either you or their consent. Plus you very clearly save over Kris with the first save point. So even if it does turn out you helped conceive the world you're only recently interacting directly with it.

First things first, I LOVE this song and video so much. I just have one problem, I wish that after the soft part at 2:05 that you would have put in another (heavier) chorus. I'm aware that not doing that makes more sense story wise but in terms of music that would have been absolutely amazing. Either way keep up the good work!

An amazing song one of the things I think makes an amazing song about a game and channels like yours in general is that you can make a song and not directly reference or outright state things in or about the game like if I didn't know about the game or the tweets I would have never known this was a song about or inspired by a game which you do in a large amount if not most of your work stuff like that is what separates you from most other channels that do something like this and honestly make you better in my opinion hell even your original stuff is top tier great work keep it up
