TABI IS MOVING FORWARD IT IS PROBABLY COMING FEBRUARY. Follow me for more updates on it: twitter.com/RecDTRH - Hope you like this little departure as I finally finish a song I've been kicking around for over a year! Thanks to everyone who recorded lines for the chorus on twitter & Micks for rockin the Noelle vocals!
Something really cool I noticed was how the lines spoken by "Kris" were all different voices each time around, really driving home the fact it's not Kris' voice at all, it's the player's, who could sound like anything.
I wrote the exact same thing, but mine was longer, and nobody even noticed it lol, i think i might have deleted mine a long time ago, but you said it better than i did.
Bunch of cool details. At 0:52 “Little Guy” which Noelle says in the box, gets replaces with “Vile Foe” when text that says “DO NOT PITY THE ENEMY” comes up. At 1:01 “they’re maki-“ gets replaced by the spoken line when text saying “NOELLE MUST GET STRONGER” appears. At 2:05 it says “Zkb Lvq'w Vkh grlqj whh dwwdfn” which when shift cipher’d by +3 says “WHY ISNT SHE DOING THE ATTACK” At around 2:16 there’s another shift cipher which VERY roughly translates too “cmon I wanna see if the ending changes”
It really is quite dark when you see these text pop up, those being the thoughts of a player going down the Snowgrave Route. Those last two texts line though… Those are the thoughts of a player that doesn’t care how any of the characters are feeling.
@@rihard999 To do Snowgrave, once you have Noelle, you need to exclusively hit enemies with her Ice Shock spell. This spell is the only fatal attack in the game so far. Hunt for every enemy in Cyber City's early areas, backtracking to the trash zone. You'll know they're dead because they'll still be frozen in the overworld. Pick "Proceed" whenever it comes up as a dialogue option, pressuring her to solve puzzles on her own or otherwise do pretty terrible things. Other than that, when interacting with the carousel sign, pick "I'll ride with you" and then further insist when Noelle comments on it. (I think this dialogue is optional, but it's still noteworthy.) If you've done the route right up to the point you meet the pink Addison, talk to them. Tell them you and Noelle are "something else" (as in not just friends). They'll offer you a Freeze Ring, a new weapon for Noelle, but it'll cost more than you have (always your current money + 1). There is no way to get it "fair," so tell Noelle to "Get it" repeatedly until the screen goes black. The Addison will be gone, and Noelle will now have the Freeze Ring. Equip it. Keep going, keep freezing all enemies. Remember that it's *just* IceShock you can use in this section. Using any other attacks won't kill them, aborting the route. Somewhere down the line, you'll find a dumpster with Spamton inside. He will offer you something, but asks you to kill the rest of the enemies first. He'll give you a countdown like in the Undertale Genocide. Once you've killed all enemies in Cyber City, you'll unlock a new spell called "Snowgrave." Come back to Spamton. He'll offer you the Thorn Ring for D$1997. Buy it and equip it to Noelle - it reduces the cost of ice spells, but also deals constant damage to Noelle while in a fight. Only then can you finally leave Cyber City and move on to encounter Berdly. Tell Noelle to "Proceed" one last time, and the fight with Berdly will start. This time, do *not* use IceShock. Instead, build up TP by defending, then cast Snowgrave once you're at 100%. Noelle will refuse the first few times you press it. Keep going and she will cast the spell. The rest should be self-explanatory. Good luck.
I feel like this song doesn't just depict Noelle in snowgrave, but also us as the players For Noelle, she's smart, smart enough to figure out there's something wrong with Kris She's only following orders because she's too timid to stand up for herself, and the snowgrave route gave her a sense of control and worthy And for us as players, Toby's been increasing the importance of the choices and control since Ch.1 Make a vessel→discarded Meet Susie→mock you for practically every desicion you try to make for her, and go with her own ways Susie decides to join for real→gives you a bit more control over party members The collective result of sparing or fighting enemies→Finally some more effect Then Ch.1 ending→choices. don't. matter. So natually when you realized that Noelle could actually KILL the enemies, you as the player would go to extreme distances just to try it out If Undertale genocide was caused by boredom of resetting, then Deltarune snowgrave is caused by desperation and catching this glimpse of potenial control over the situation And every time a PROCEED pops up, you gradually understand that it's the option you have to push The stakes are too high, you can't care about how bad it would be, you have to try it out So every time you get Noelle to PROCEED, you yourself are also getting addicted to it Try to remember the time you met Berdly, Noelle saw him as "another enemy" after going through the snowgrave route How did you see him? And did you even hesitate when you saw the PROCEED option? Or did you instantly know which one to pick? Such levels of paranoid and insistance on continuing the route, are all shown in the consistant "ICESHOCK" "SNOWGRAVE" "PROCEED" and the cipher messages inbetween so good job! really saw myself in the player in this video
I didn’t do snow grave because I’m too emotional to do it, but it’s so cool other people are actually getting control by Toby fox by just letting you finally control yourself and getting addicted.
I like how, even when Noelle reaches her 'confident' phase, she still uses language like 'useful' and 'asset,' like she's only a useful tool. That sort of guard dog-like mix of confidence and obedience captures the route perfectly.

The art at 2:05 is actually so cool, it's such a shame it's only there for like half a second! The player's controller is connected to Kris's soul by a wire, and Noelle is tangled up in that wire. That's so cool and clever.

Wait, it was the players controller? I thought it was berdly playing a game on a controller at first or something but yeah it being the players controller makes more sense
2:09 Whoever hit that first SNOWGRAVE, I want them to know, it was awesome. Such a potent, powerful punch of a command, like declaring an attack name in an anime.
That was me! Thank you for your comment! Saying things in such a "calling out your attack names in an anime" way just so happens to be something I really love to do in voice acting!
I just realized the whole song Noelle has some sort of "Robotic" tune to her voice, but in some parts (and specifically in 2:01) we can see how her voice is shifting to a more normal voice. This can be specifically noticed in the last parts of the song, when she shifts to herself and her "useful" form. I saw the voice as the player using the excuse, “these are not real people” so they can ignore Noelle, because it is just a computer game, and just manipulate her without a second thought.
You really convey the maniuplative nature of the relationship well, alongside Noelle's own struggles and her pent up rage and frustration being put to a boil by the players.
i love the choice of "dialouge" for the players as well cause it sounds like what IRL gamers would say talking to themselves "why wont she use the attack?" "i want to see if this changes the ending".
Kris is like Spamton, forced to do something they dont wanna (in Spamton’s case he’s forced to always speak like a salesman) against their will. Thats why Spamton and Kris are friendly to each other in the normal route, they understand each other.
I like how climatic they made the snowgrave part. Kris is on the floor, Noelle is about to cast snowgrave while holding a long note, and they “snowgrave” commands speed up, nice job recorder dude

i find it interesting how everyone in the fandom pre-chapter 2 thought kris would go insane, little did we know it’d be noelle instead that aside, i really love this song. its super well made and it captures the feel of the snowgrave route, noelle trying her hardest to justify all of this meanwhile losing herself
the thing is with kris is hes already cracked from the start cause there under players controll just like frisk was any of there "real opions" dont matter after that hence why everyone else tells you when kris says or shows something instead of showing up in the players menu. like suzie has to point out kris is nearly crying after the spamton fight with no mention of it on the players side cause that is Kris crying about the truth hes just like spamton a puppet dancing on strings they cant cut.
I really like what you did with the "player" vocals, having them be a mix of voices and references that represent the many different players that have played the route. It definitely fixes the problem most "player" vocals have with seemingly being it's own character playignt he game rather than being representative of all the players that play this route.
Over one year later after its release, we finally get a Ch2 musical number from RecD... And it's absolute fIRE DAMN- Really tho I've been waiting for this and Noelle's singer SERVED this is amazingggg
@@TheRealHackerWolvesLOL It’s not just about the button, it’s about the context. A grim reminder the we, the player, are the ones who corrupted an innocent girl
" I'll unhear the screaming. I'll unfeel the pain. I'll unknow the answers. *Only you remain.* " This line goes so fucking hard, and it has absolutely no right to. God damn.
what I always found fascinating about the snowgrave route is that we are manipulating this young girl with obvious self esteem issues into doing horrible things to both herself and those around her. To me, at least, that infinitely more disturbing than anything found in the genocide run.
@@charcoaleater343 But with Undertale its implied that Chara was always kind of a shitty person, whereas Noelle is a sweetheart who you can push around and know full well wont push back. I find the later much more unsettling.
@@allseeingeye4886 well, not really. Chara wasn't the greatest person, but they were still a very young child and were not completely awful, and they wouldn't really kill their parents if not the player's manipulation. I agree though, snowgrave is much more unsettling, because as far as we know, Noelle is much nicer than Chara, and because the manipulation aspect is much more visible in Noelle.
@@charcoaleater343 Chara didn't do anything but get revived by the player's genocide route and destroyed the world since the player as Frisk ruined it anyways.
I just listened to this and HOLY [CUNGADERO], did it send a shiver down my spine! The voices of the players saying "Proceed", "Iceshock" and "Snowgrave" as Noelle gradually fell under their thrall was positively chilling. I'm so glad that I could lend my voice to this project (even if I would never actually go down that path in-game).
The jumbled letters shown once Noelle starts giving into Kris' will are actually words, encoded using ROT3. Here they are decoded: 2:05 - "WHY ISN'T SHE DOING THE ATTACK" 2:15 - "CMON I WANNA SEE IF THE ENDING CHANGES" You might be asking, "what is ROT3"? Well, it's a kind of Letter Substitution Cipher in which the letters are rotated around the Alphabet 3 times, and can be decoded using ROT23, which is the same thing except rotated 23 times. For example, if you were to put "Subsribe to RecD" through ROT3, you would get "Vxevuleh wr UhfG", and putting that through ROT23 gives you "Subscribe to RecD" again. These are both variations on the main version of the Cipher, ROT13, which can be used to both encode and decode words, since 26/2=13.
@@idioticlight i mean, Kris is the one *GIVING* the commands, and Noelle is unaware of the player’s existence, so as far as she’s concerned, it really is Kris’ will she’s giving into

Deltarune Chapter 2 takes place in a radical computer world. It's about helping a wacky (but endearing) down-on-his-luck salesman get back on his feet. But to do so, you have to defeat the evil Queen, and her conniving lackey. He's tough to kill, but that's okay, because with the power of love, you can help your sidekick Noelle to reach her potential.
Oh my God this is amazingly well done great job Recd and the Team this was awesomely well done and should get as many views as fnf does. And I'm upset TH-cam didn't send this out to me.
2:05 The message here is a rot23 cipher that turns out to be "why isn't she doing the attack" Edit: 2:15-2:16 also shows another cipher that says "cmon i wanna see if the ending changes"
I like how much this song focuses on Noelle's point of view, unable to understand what's really going on until it's too late. The way we've cast our control down further to her and the way it's affecting her mind is even more terrifying to her than it is to us.
This song is so unrated right now, it’s absolutely beautiful, and the instrumental is just purely amazing. The lyrics are so meaningful. Truly a masterpiece that captures the tone of the deltarune snowgrave path
I went into this song hoping that it would be good since it was the first one I’ve seen from you in awhile I was pleasantly surprised! Honestly quite incredible
Oh I’ll take a original song/ Snowgrave musical! The beat and overall pacing makes this feel just like the grind Snowgrave is. The numbers just keep going up as you grind the encounters, Noelle slowly getting stronger. This is composed very well!
I like the way they portrayed the player manipulating Noelle, in the way of the player constantly pressing A, trying and trying over and over, confused why stuff isn't the way it "should go."
You did a good job capturing the feeling of Snowgrave. The song was okay, I listened to it once, And will not be doing it again unless it got deleted or until chaper 3 comes out
The fact that there's an XBOX controller being depicted in this song as the thing we're using to control Noelle and Kris makes me wonder what RecD and Toby Fox are hiding.
THIS IS ACTUALLY SO GOOD WTF this is such a Banger. It has like a nostalgic early-fandom song feel that I can't explain. I'm glad you finally managed to finish it!
the first song that disturbed me. you can see the shift in noelles personality, at the start shes a innocent girl, wanting to look at the lights. but at the end, shes actively freezing enemies, thinking that if she doesnt, they will die. and in the last scene, we can see that everytime Kris says to do snowgrave, her eyes go white, before she resists. but as Kris keeps doing it, the monster that Kris had been making finally fulfils its purpose.
While I missed the initial release, I’m so glad to listen to this proper once I figured out that TH-cam never notified me. This is genuinely wonderful, and may be one of my favourite video game songs of recent time. Hope this video gets the attention it deserves!

Still waiting on Friday Night Funkin season two- but other than that, this song really shows how when Noelle is with Kris in the Snowgrave run, she feels "worthy" and not a burden like how she used to feel. As Noelle grows with strength, you feel… dead inside. You’ve destroyed the entirety of this dark world. *I s t h i s w h a t y o u w a n t e d ? A r e y o u h a p p y ?* The dust has finally settled. Was this worth the murder? Was it worth forcing her to fight? Did you enjoy this murder? Do you hate everyone that much? Even your footsteps echo. It’s an empty futuristic wasteland. that aside, i really love this song. its super well made and it captures the feel of the snowgrave route, noelle trying her hardest to justify all of this meanwhile losing herself
nah Kris noelle did not go insane
you made her.
hence your insane and sick for making HER insane
the thing is with kris is hes already cracked from the start cause there under players controll just like frisk was any of there "real opions" dont matter after that hence why everyone else tells you when kris says or shows something instead of showing up in the players menu.
like suzie has to point out kris is nearly crying after the spamton fight with no mention of it on the players side cause that is Kris crying about the truth hes just like spamton a puppet dancing on strings they cant cut.
I really like what you did with the "player" vocals, having them be a mix of voices and references that represent the many different players that have played the route. It definitely fixes the problem most "player" vocals have with seemingly being it's own character playignt he game rather than being representative of all the players that play this route.
Dang, this is amazing. You accurately showed Noelle's thought process and her gradual descent into madness. The song is fire too

what I always found fascinating about the snowgrave route is that we are manipulating this young girl with obvious self esteem issues into doing horrible things to both herself and those around her. To me, at least, that infinitely more disturbing than anything found in the genocide run.
The Horror is part of deltarune but this hits close to home for some people
Well, we are doing a simmillar thing in undertale genocide run, manipulating Chara to murder to "get stronger"
Techno mixed with a winter vibe is such a vibe, man.
Love the visuals, nice mix of spritework and detailed portraits!
The end bit is amazing I like how kris basically takes control of Noelle and she keeps becoming ruthless but then turns back to scared
The jumbled letters shown once Noelle starts giving into Kris' will are actually words, encoded using ROT3. Here they are decoded:
2:05 - "WHY ISN'T SHE DOING THE ATTACK"
2:15 - "CMON I WANNA SEE IF THE ENDING CHANGES"
You might be asking, "what is ROT3"? Well, it's a kind of Letter Substitution Cipher in which the letters are rotated around the Alphabet 3 times, and can be decoded using ROT23, which is the same thing except rotated 23 times. For example, if you were to put "Subsribe to RecD" through ROT3, you would get "Vxevuleh wr UhfG", and putting that through ROT23 gives you "Subscribe to RecD" again. These are both variations on the main version of the Cipher, ROT13, which can be used to both encode and decode words, since 26/2=13.
"Kris' will" 💀
@@idioticlight i mean, Kris is the one *GIVING* the commands, and Noelle is unaware of the player’s existence, so as far as she’s concerned, it really is Kris’ will she’s giving into

this song is so much better with context
its still a free demo. Come join us for some tea and join the cult.
@@willow5945 power of *love*
Oh my God this is amazingly well done great job Recd and the Team this was awesomely well done and should get as many views as fnf does. And I'm upset TH-cam didn't send this out to me.
2:05 The message here is a rot23 cipher that turns out to be "why isn't she doing the attack"
Edit: 2:15-2:16 also shows another cipher that says "cmon i wanna see if the ending changes"

I like how much this song focuses on Noelle's point of view, unable to understand what's really going on until it's too late. The way we've cast our control down further to her and the way it's affecting her mind is even more terrifying to her than it is to us.
I’ll be honest, this is great! Thank you for satisfying my needs. :)

This song is so unrated right now, it’s absolutely beautiful, and the instrumental is just purely amazing. The lyrics are so meaningful. Truly a masterpiece that captures the tone of the deltarune snowgrave path
2:07 totally shell shocked me for a second there! Good job!!
All of your songs that ive heard so far have been amazing. This is no exception.
I went into this song hoping that it would be good since it was the first one I’ve seen from you in awhile
I was pleasantly surprised! Honestly quite incredible
Noice video as always!! Keep doing what your doing these videos always make me smile :)
this song deserves way more attention, can't wait to see more original song you make!
This is so cool! I love how it shows the player playing the game and keeps going!
2:22 is the time where her final and most robotic voice kicks in and the sheer amount of snow graves in that short time is wow
This is EASILY my favorite song you've made. Excellent work on the production to you and your entire team.
Great work! This is amazing, and I'm so glad you did something Deltarune related again!
HOLY SHIT THIS WAS SO COOL?!
The backing vocals really add to the atmosphere, great job!
i love this so much, it sounds so good, good job man, yet another banger
This sounds really good keep it up
I'm seriously so happy that RecD made a Deltarune song
Oh I’ll take a original song/ Snowgrave musical! The beat and overall pacing makes this feel just like the grind Snowgrave is. The numbers just keep going up as you grind the encounters, Noelle slowly getting stronger. This is composed very well!
I like the way they portrayed the player manipulating Noelle, in the way of the player constantly pressing A, trying and trying over and over, confused why stuff isn't the way it "should go."
"Why is my action RPG, NOT ACTION RPG-ING."
this is so much more emotional than it has any right to be. This kind of vocal performance should get a day of the year named after you!
You did a good job capturing the feeling of Snowgrave. The song was okay, I listened to it once, And will not be doing it again unless it got deleted or until chaper 3 comes out
Oh my god dude, the sheer power in this song just left me flat out speechless

"They're letting me do everything!" Oh, such a wonderful line, as she is now able to fight but also has to do all the fighting alone.
The fact that there's an XBOX controller being depicted in this song as the thing we're using to control Noelle and Kris makes me wonder what RecD and Toby Fox are hiding.
You can't play Deltarune on an Xbox, but you can plug an Xbox controller into your PC and use the controller to play Deltarune.
That one british (i think) male voice saying Iceshock is just ✨✨✨

this is actually the best song i heard so far keep up the goodwork recD ive been subbed too you since your start of the fnf videos i really like them
the first song that disturbed me. you can see the shift in noelles personality, at the start shes a innocent girl, wanting to look at the lights. but at the end, shes actively freezing enemies, thinking that if she doesnt, they will die. and in the last scene, we can see that everytime Kris says to do snowgrave, her eyes go white, before she resists. but as Kris keeps doing it, the monster that Kris had been making finally fulfils its purpose.
While I missed the initial release, I’m so glad to listen to this proper once I figured out that TH-cam never notified me. This is genuinely wonderful, and may be one of my favourite video game songs of recent time. Hope this video gets the attention it deserves!

Oh my gosh, this sounds and looks amazing! I was shocked to hear Noelle's voice. Nice job!.. Still waiting on Friday Night Funkin season two- but other than that, this song really shows how when Noelle is with Kris in the Snowgrave run, she feels "worthy" and not a burden like how she used to feel.
