The line "Decision's in your hand" hits different this time, especially after Snowgrave XD I know that this wasn't Nathan's intention, BUT - if we look at the lyrics from the point of view of the player (us) instead of Kris', then it's as though we're trying to justify why we're controlling Kris, and pretending that we only have their wellbeing in our mind (by bringing up adventures and escapism).

I'm not a large Undertale/Deltarune fan, but damn this is a good song
I’m coming back after thinking of something: since Deltarune takes place above ground with no war or entrapment, the Monsters never knew what it was like to be trapped. Toriel doesn’t know what it was like to watch her husband and friends kill child after child after she tried so hard to protect them, Undyne doesn’t know what it was like to make spaghetti with Papyrus and date Alphys; Papyrus doesn’t know what it was like setting up those traps of which Sans and Frisk easily went through; Sans may remember (but it’s not certain yet) determining Frisk’s fate at the Judgement Hall; Asgore can’t remember losing Chara, Asriel, Toriel, and murdering all those children.
And Asriel is the most important one, because he can’t remember wishing to Echoflowers to see the stars his parents talked about, talking and playing with a forbidden Human friend, sacrificing his life so Chara could see the yellow flowers of their home once again, and being trapped as a flower, either being killed or finally being freed of his torment.
But it raises the question: CAN they remember? Sans is a yes, most likely, since he hints at it in both universes and can travel through space nonchalantly, but what about the others? Obviously not in the front of their mind, but I’m saying what if they faintly remember the world where Humans were their mortal enemies in a war that trapped them for a long time? For example, Asgore has only the flowers that are coloured like the children’s souls cased: maybe it was an easter egg, or maybe Toby Fox is trying to hint that the Monsters still subconciously remember a life they once lived but aren’t living now.
@@onyourleft4194 sans only knows that alternate timelines exist, he can't travel around them or control them. If he could he wouldn't have been begging the main character to reset in undertale as he could have just done it himself.

So I only recently discovered this song and damn it may be inspired by deltarune but the lyrics resonate with me on a personal level so much. As long as I can remember I've used excessive daydreaming as a form of escapism from reality and while I would love to just spend my days dreaming and doing nothing else it wasn't until more recently that I started to realize just how detrimental to my mental and physical health it all is. I've tried being more aware of my excessive daydreaming and work around it but I find myself constantly falling into the same patterns with it because in truth I just want an escape. Being able to get away through dreaming and control and manipulate scenarios and such as I wish, live out the life I want, or just create interesting stories is honestly the only time I get joy anymore. I get its all in my head, I'm not so far gone that reality has been lost onto me but even so regardless of how unhealthy the obsessiveness of it is, running away into the depths of my own mind is just so enticing and so much easier than actually living that I cant imagine ever stopping. I honestly don't think I could.
I'm in the same boat. At this point, considering the state of the world, I feel no guilt or remorse over my maladaptive daydreaming.
Okay, if this wasn't a Deltarune song, I would totally say this song is about Maladaptive Daydreaming.
