Yeah they're just relying on the FPS lock to make it bearable... Unfortunately for people who drop from 60 fps, it will stutter just the same as the unlocked FPS, it sucks!
Thanks for checking exactly the two areas (forest and dragon breath) I wanted to see on modern hardware. This game is super CPU limited it just doesn't scale properly which is the source of the stutter, specially when ray tracing. It would be interesting to see unlocked gameplay (i's gonna stutter we know but for science) to see which CPU is better at handling the game. Something like 14600k vs 7800x3d. Maybe we'll be able to play this game with little stutter with hardware from another 5 years in the future.
If you already bought the dlc, you can download a character ready for the dlc from nexus mod, so you can be able to play it without having to complete the whole game
It's good to see that you're testing Elden Ring again. Can you test the DLC as well? Maybe you can find main save files to get into it.
I bought it and refunded after I found you need to play the entire game to unlock it 😅
Save games also didn't seem to work, maybe I did something wrong though

@@zWORMzGamingIf you find the game hard you can probably find an online save file of someone who beat the whole game+found all items and access dlc without having to play it

I've watched all your video abut 4070 super including this :) upgrading from integrated graphics (I5 6300U) to this card and a r5 7600. The monitor is going to be my bottleneck now 😂
Don't have this game, but people say if you unlock the frame rate with the mod, you still need to lock it (like with RTSS or through the driver) to your target value, and apparently forcing vsync in the GPU driver also helps with the stutters. Allegedly...
My fps at 1440p with raytracing on a 4080 is actually very similar to this.
I am pretty sure the game doesn't even properly utilize RT-cores on the GPU...
Question is unrelated but Kyrzzp should i turn on ray reconstruction when playing cyberpunk with rt at 1080p?
you need to beat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood to access the DLC area
If you are testing fortnite with some gpu this weekend you should use drivers 546.29 with nvidia cuz its stable and newest drivers stutters on fortnite dx12 with nvidia gpus

I have a 4070 Super and have been putting all my most demanding games on 4K just to see how they run. It's like "turn on 4K. Okay, it's 60 FPS. Next."
I still play at 1440p as the bump from 1440 to 4K isn't as big as 1080 to 4K.
You actually don't need to complete the whole game to play the dlc , you have to beat 2 bosses - radahn and mohg.
Radahn is fairly early in the game and mohg is about halfway from the end.

You can have someone help you clear the levels and skip right to the DLC as fast as possible too. I swear the DLC is pretty taxing especially with so many fire effects
Have you tried borderless windows instead of full screen so that the stuttering is gone with the frame unlocker mod?

Can you do 4070 super difference between ddr4 and ddr5? I have a 10700k and looking at a 4070 super but still on ddr4
you can't run a 10700K on DDR5 tho, and from my testing using a 3090, I'm getting around same perf as this video, using a 10700K with 3600 CL16 DDR4 ( the game doesn't run above 60fps anyways, and it'll stutter like hell regardless of which CPU, and it basically pushes a single thread to 94%, while general CPU usage is 22%, and the 3090 is barely hitting 75% on 2K )

EDIT: Disable E-cores for stuttering fix - works like a charm now.
There a dlss mod on nexus. My rtx 3060 now performs great at 2160p
@@gordoncampbell7858 DLSS doesn't help with stuttering as that's caused by CPU/RAM or lack of optimization of said components like in this case.
Also with mods you can't play online so you've to sacrifice multiplayer for it, for some it's ok but for many that's not acceptable.
Disabling e cores helped? That's weird

2:20 how did you unlock fps I tried with 2 mods and they didn't break 60 fps still. what did you use to unlock the fps Kryzzp ?
I used flawless widescreen to remove the black borders on a uwqhd and found it can unlock the fps ( raises the limiter actually, so I raised it to 144 )
4060 at 1080p = 4070 at 1440p if 4060 is not vram limited at 1080p.
i take it the game locks at 60. odd for these days
honestly in my opinion there is no point to test this game on gpus that will obviously have no issues at all running the game.

It's not weird, it's just capped at 60 fps so it doesn't need to pull a lot of wattage

The DLC is pretty intensive. Its dropping a lot for me for some reason.
I think you could get a complete save and just get into the dlc. But only offline.
Wish I could test it, but I literally don't have time or the skills to make it that far in the game lol
@@zWORMzGaming It does look a lot better then the base game tho. It looks sharper and you can see the whole area from one place basically. Shame you cant test it, but hey, the game is pretty hard. And the DLC is extra hard.
@@zWORMzGaming if you put the game into offline mode by disabling the anticheat and go on nexus mods you can download somebody’s save file that is later into the game and has access to the dlc and you can test the performance in the dlc area that way.
Are you using a newer intel cpu, as another guy said that he was stuttering like crazy for him until he disabled the e-cores.

I play it with a 7800X3D and an RTX 4080. I play in UHD on a 4k OLED monitor (ROG PG42UQ) and use the frame lock mod and play it at 120 FPS and it runs butter smooth. 100 times better than 60 FPS.
I didn't think about that! Yeah it's actually pretty good to unlock FPS and lock them to a value you'll never drop from. This way it doesn't stutter as much!!!
@@zWORMzGamingIt suddenly started stuttering for me even after the Elden Ring update. I then switched from full screen to borderless window and after that it works great.And I use Gsync. Maybe that's why things are going so well for me.

Aren't elden ring saves assigned to your steam profile? I know that the folder that contains the save files for elden ring has your steam id as its name, I wouldn't be suprised if the save files don't work because steam id doesn't match

From what i seen RT low to high seems to change the draw distance for RT effects so having 4k with RT shadows and ao which are probably also rendered at 4k is going to bring 4070ti to crawl

@@zWORMzGaming You don't need to complete the whole game, you need to defeat 2 shardbearers, Radahn and Mohg, and you will find the entrance point in the latter's arena. Although it is quite far in the game so I understand lol.

@@zWORMzGaming first boss isn't that hard. You just need to explore and find some good weapons and upgrade them. Also you need to level up your character, if your level is close to 10 it's too small. But exploring this games takes so much time that I understand you don't want to do it or don't have time, you make a lot of great videos and I can only imagine how long it takes to record everything and then edit it.
