The band has literally been with me along the journey of life. I went to a concert in Syracuse NY as a teen and then again at 37 with my daughter. I remember as a teen watching their iconic video where they are in LA on the roof top singing, stopping traffic. It was a "wow" moment. I think that song is my life's theme song. lol.
Watching this I just realized that it was almost exactly 40 years ago that I saw U2 live for the first time. They've been amazing every time I've seen them since, and I can't wait to see them again. They are without a doubt one of the best bands of all time.
Been watching Red Rocks show since ‘83! That concert is just captivating!! From then on I was a lifelong U2 fan! Even visited Ireland in ‘84 to see Slane Castle where they recorded Unforgettable Fire..
I saw U2 in 1992. At some point in the show they played "Where the Streets Have No Name". Thinking of that moment still gives me chills. I'd love to have someone in my life like that. They are happy and amazing together, and U2 is timeless. 40+ yrs and still in love. 🥰🥰 Thank you for the music, it's been a part of my life since 1983.
I think Bono is 1/4 of the reason why U2 is the only band in history who are still together after 40 years; same lineup and not one od'd. If any member had doubts about continuing years ago, he talked them into staying.
Very good point. I was mentioning this to me mate last month as I listened to the book. Not one change in the band despite all the change to the music and time. Speaks strongly to the power of real friendship and agreed purpose... and faith.
@@MIB_63 Yes. The Rolling Stones are an amazing group that lost one of its original members (Brian Jones) after he drowned in a pool. But let's not bring up the other sides of the Stones. There's always something to learn from this band, from Bono, from interviews like this. Taking aside the artistic creativity of U2 one must find the heart of the band in their believe in music as a source of change and transformation. They believed, as they still do, that a situation can be fixed by means of music. Plus, it's kind of admirable the commitment in urgent causes such as the russian situation, the floods in Africa, the food and fight against poverty in needed places in the world. To me in U2 music is completely based in life, freedom and personal actions.
I love all of U2s music past and present and this was a really heartfelt interview of bono and ali. Fun fact: when Joy Division were recording their second album Closer, U2 were in the same studio recording their first album Boy!
What is extraordinary about this band is.... they are still together because.... they love each other. Their latest productions were not that great but they released quite a few great albums, and really great songs and they passed the test of time, so well done lads!
Songs of Experience was poppy, yes, but the songs are solid. 40 is also a great collection. Innocence wasn't great, but other than that I wouldn't say there's been a bad album ever, really.
They are also still together because they are one of the rare bands that split everything evenly regardless of who has songwriting credit etc. so it eliminates the animosity that is the demise of so many other bands .

After work one day I went with a friend to her parent's house and they had MTV. New Year's Day started to play and I was mesmerized. So long ago and yet, in some ways not really.
Bono and his wife are so grounded. That is why they are still together. Just like Sting and Trudi. Lovely story about Gorbachev. What a shame he isn’t in power today.
1:55 interesting that he described her as "a mystery" considering he wrote "She's a Mystery to Me" for Roy Orbison's final album, Mystery Girl, in 1989 and she appeared in the music video for the song as the "mystery girl" Hauntingly beautiful song written and sang to perfection.
Finished the audiobook, it was so Amazing! I'm listening again! I can't get enough of Bono! I'm so excited to hear there will be another album! I thought Songs of Experience was the finale. I cried at that concert thinking it might be the last time I see U2 live! Thank you for giving me something to look forward to! Peace and Love!

God wants people like Bono!!! cos mad made churches and mans ideaology separates people when all God does is include the lost and hopeless and those that are searching for him. Wow, what a great realization from such a humble man. you are truly a remarkable person. God is not looking for a church or a group, he is looking for an open pure heart to dwell in!!! God Bless you Bono!
I heard his Irish. I was lucky growing up in Ireland as my mum's family came from Northern Ireland & my Dad was from Bray, 12 miles southeast of Dublin. So on holidays, I saw the way religion destroyed people against each other, even at a young age there was a big difference between Catholic Republican's & Prodestant loyalists, each who brought pain & suffering to each other daily. Bone has been a powerful force for good in the world. Not bad for a Dub-head Slainte & a nice insight into a very nice couple and U2 the band look forward to their to any new material. Cheers
was the conflict in Ireland primarily between Catholic and Protestants, as in, that was the division line in general? If so, what were some of the differences that led to this conflict?
@@conlethbyrne4809 My mother's mother was born just outside Donegal ... meanwhile my father's mother was descended from people in Strabane. Sure ... but this is what it looks like to this Yank of partial Irish descent, anyway.
Great interview, but it says something very critical about Bono as a husband that when O'Donnell asks the TWO of them, which of you was the first to see the possibility of what is, here? Bono turns it on to himself and his band, interpreting the question as being about him and the band and not him and his wife. Very telling.
From what i read years ago, they have a lovely love story the kind movies r made of. I always though of her as beautiful and lovely. And she seems to be a good hearted person. You r lucky Bono!
Bono I love and respect you, you were my crush for years , but I wish you would let Ali talk more, she seems like a great woman and I was always curious about the lady behind the greatest leader of all time.
Read in a book something that describes how great these guys are and why they have managed to stay together. At one point when they became very successful, the band decided to split everything ( $) 5 ways ( 4 members + the manager). Regardless of how much more work it would be for the front man ( interviews, press, writing) or the main song writers. You hear so many stories where the front man or head writer feels they should get more $ because they are doing more work and how often that leads to resentment and breakups. Here no matter what they were equal. In any relationship when one person feels they are more important and deserve more than the others there will be resentment. But when the members decide that are all true equal even if some pull more weight then others (we are one...but we're not the same) then it is truly a team and breeds success.
Finally got to see an interview with Bono and his beautiful wife. I have dreams that I have talked with them for years- very proud of their accomplishments !!!
The blarney is strong with this one.....lol. Any tough questions here?....No?...... didn't think so.....Globalism.....Klaus Shwab, WEF, Pandemic?......Why so shy all of a sudden? He used to shovel it down our throats at his shows. Norah saves the tough questions for those evil "right-leaning" folks. I'll stick to Van the man.
I was in the front row, the concert was in Boston and video taped. I've been looking for the footage. I lost my T Shirt from the War! Tour. I've seen U2 four times, because The Edge cousin was Irish she went to our college. I also knew Bonos stock broker! Changed my life's direction for the better, thank you.
Huge U2 fan. Saw them in 83 opening up for the Ramones and J Giles Band in Phoenix. They played in front of a big white sheet. They felt humbled and appreciative to be there. You could tell they would be around for awhile. Saw them at the Sphere last month. Amazing. It’s interesting how him and his wife talk very metaphorically and spiritually. I guess when you’re a billionaire you can do this. Good for them. I know they have many charities. Top 10 band ever.
The best band that America ever produced, even though they are not from America! They immediately got into the American psyche in their early years and they conquered that country even before they’d really “made it” at home in Ireland…
I'm proud of the Hewson family construct beyond the rare "Fly concert guise" he has to put on. It's tough to do each show as if it were the first. They all have an incredible life or recovery, challenges and success. I'd like to think of myself as the perfect fan. I have every album, been a club member for ages, go to every concert I can afford and never stalk any of them to meet them; I just pelt them with my money. Though my life would be complete just to say thank you to any of them for making me read the lyrics, giving me a music passion (some don't understand) and growing old with me since 1984. It's be incomplete without that opportunity. If I ever get terminally ill Bono's is on my wish list before I move onto the next world. Thanks for remaining humble, I'm sorry for your presumable solitude.

"She Moves In Mysterious Ways"
God bless this ❤️band U2🇧🇷🇺🇲
I had the pleasure of seeing them in concert back in 1992, I believe it was their Zoo T.V. Tour. Great concert, incredible Band!
My dream concert. I wish :)
Amazing his resemblance to Robin Williams.
True. If RW could have made a biopic on him😀
Finished the audiobook, it was so Amazing! I'm listening again! I can't get enough of Bono! I'm so excited to hear there will be another album! I thought Songs of Experience was the finale. I cried at that concert thinking it might be the last time I see U2 live! Thank you for giving me something to look forward to! Peace and Love!
@Bono is this the real Bono????!!!!
@Bono Seriously?! I think I will actually have a heart attack if this is BONO!
@Bono 10th grade, 1987, Joshua Tree tour!
@@michelleherter269 If you check this "Bono" account, you will see that it has no content and only 10 subscribers. That should tell you all you need to know to determine if this is really Bono responding to you. Don't be fooled.
@@stevebean1543 I figured! Just like to play the game! Not sure what people get out of scamming others?? Thanks for the concern! ☮️
Thank you so much forever Bono from. Brazil 🇧🇷🇺🇲2💋❤️
I could listen to Bono talk for hours when he is chilled out like this.
I can't wait for that album!!💝
I love this man....and will always do❤
It’s hard not to like him.
We Made it to Nashville twice this year, first to see Eli perform in Inhaler, then to see Bono (without the band)
I have followed U2 since the very beginning.💖🌹💖 She walks in mysterious ways.☺️
God wants people like Bono!!! cos mad made churches and mans ideaology separates people when all God does is include the lost and hopeless and those that are searching for him. Wow, what a great realization from such a humble man. you are truly a remarkable person. God is not looking for a church or a group, he is looking for an open pure heart to dwell in!!! God Bless you Bono!
People like to make fun or Bono, his beliefs, “rants”, etc. Truth is.. He’s just an amazing, beautiful human being.
Listening to The Unforgettable Fire, it's still beguiling. Such a magnificent album.
Totally agree with what's been said about Gorbachev. I will never forget that day he changed history.
This album ‘bouts to be fire.
It's a Beautiful Day !!!
Bono is a person who, I could listen too , all day long !!!
Rube
How sad for you.
Now I understand the reason why Bono is as awesome as he is
It's because of her
I really liked U2's music for a long time. But Bono is a hypocrite. And let's not forget.. no one loves Bono more than Bono.
To bloody & complicated to talk about here. Slainte
@@conlethbyrne4809 My mother's mother was born just outside Donegal ... meanwhile my father's mother was descended from people in Strabane. When I was driving up to the border I thought, "The hills look the same on both sides ... the sheep look the same ... why is there this division?" Naîve and oversimplified? Sure ... but this is what it looks like to this Yank of partial Irish descent, anyway.
Fell in love with U2 at age 16 1991..inspired me for the rest of my life.
My god look at Ali, she looks amazing, so gorgeous.
12:53 BEST ANSWER of the entire interview.
U2 and Duran Duran has been the two most powerful music influence in my life..From the beginning til this day I'll always be the most loyal fan.
I like the new stuff more than the old.
Great interview, but it says something very critical about Bono as a husband that when O'Donnell asks the TWO of them, which of you was the first to see the possibility of what is, here? Bono turns it on to himself and his band, interpreting the question as being about him and the band and not him and his wife. Very telling.
Religion doesn't divide people. People divide people.
Really enjoyed that. Loved U2 in a previous life
Yeah, but not this one.
I think Bono is really a poet. Ali must be his muse in some way.
THAT ALBUM TEASEEEE! And what a fantastic interview
Unforgettable experience at one their Concerts. "Walk On " Song is imprinted in my mind forever🎉.
From what i read years ago, they have a lovely love story the kind movies r made of.
I always though of her as beautiful and lovely. And she seems to be a good hearted person. You r lucky Bono!
This was great! Stumbled upon this as it is MLK Day and I was listening to Pride In The Name Of Love.
"A full-tilt rock and roll album" !!!!! Yeah!!!!!
Can't wait
Bono I love and respect you, you were my crush for years , but I wish you would let Ali talk more, she seems like a great woman and I was always curious about the lady behind the greatest leader of all time.
If Bono says your a mystery wrapped in a paradox....you are definately doing something right!!!
A voz do Bono traz uma sensação boa e uma tranquilidade❤
Bring the music! We'll be waiting... 🎶💙💙🎵
Yes indeed!
Finally got to see an interview with Bono and his beautiful wife. I have dreams that I have talked with them for years- very proud of their accomplishments !!!
Amazing band , and bono is an amazing human being
The blarney is strong with this one.....lol.
Norman is one of the Davao’s set, a multimillionaire World Economic Forum good boy
Norman? You mean Pauls brother?
Classy Ali...must be a strong woman!
First saw them 1984. Amazing band.
I have had dreams for years that I was talking with Bono and his wife. Very proud of them and their accomplishments!!! Kc fan always
Bono's talk on religion v faith is spot on.
Phenomenal interview of Bono and his wife talking about a visit they had with Mikel Gorbachev. 👏👏👏
oh, I just find Bono so wonderful, really.
@Sean McLaughlin I totally agree. A great interview here, especially the Mikhail Gorbachev story.
Thanks for the love ❤❤ come support let’s help the less privileged
The best band that America ever produced, even though they are not from America! They immediately got into the American psyche in their early years and they conquered that country even before they’d really “made it” at home in Ireland…
*i just made a lil short singing 'New Year's Day' on the 1st. U2 makes my soul happy!!!* 🕊
Ali is absolutely beautiful person
I wish I was at the autograph signing in LA. Keep making music. Keep touring.
No Robert you're actually the perfect fanny.
