You've done water rockets (torpedoes), you've done air rockets, why not do ground rockets? An uncontrolled car with bombs, that you can launch from a bigger car
The reason your old rocket build was massive is because of 3 reasons, 1: skill level 2: oldrockets required seats to work and engines to explode 3: we have alot more flight friendly parts today
If you want a challenge you could try doing guided missiles next which have to fly straight up before turning & you could potentially use them to do an air-battle, however a target would also work.

If you want a similar video idea to do with 3-4 people, you could do flying anti-air cannon vs rocket shooting planes. 2v2 or 2v1 style. If it’s 2v2 then one member makes the plane, the other makes the target. the timer ends when both airborne anti-air cannons are either disabled or shot down, if it’s 2v1 than it’s 1 airborne anti-air cannon vs 2 rocket planes.
I think part of why Scrapman had more success is just that he had just a wider range of error with his 2 rockets flying together then Yuzeis 1 big one.
Although it wasn't as effective, it'd be interesting to see you both take Yzeui's missile concept and see how far you can push it: Make one giant missile that's auto-stabilized _and_ uses distance sensors to detect targets and adjust its trajectory mid-flight. You'd still have to make sure your piloting aim is good, but the missile should be able to make its own corrections within 50 meters and always hit the target
i think the new space blocks will help make missiles with the gyro and stuff. i personally like to make weapons like this and being able to simplify a 12x2x2 long tunnel into, what? 6x2x2? doesnt sound like much but considering it is one component thats really helpful! edit: the mic isnt unbearably hot ;)
This whole rocket thing and the artillery battle from the other day on scrap mechanic makes me think maybe revisiting the whole turn based artillery you done before but on this map and with ICBM made rockets
Next idea Grab few of that rocket, put it on tank, and set it on barrage (bring more friends) and see who can build the best tank that can handle that "Rocket Barrage"
it would be cool to see a version of this where its a 2v2 with one missle plane that tries to take out a target or bunker and one player who uses a fighter or just two fighters and two missle bombers with either first to take out the target or fastest time wins depending on team layout.
Idea: Vehicle battle. Just build anything that will hopefully get you the win. Let's see Howmush destruction we can see when you're only limited to your imagination (and the 700 block limit). Maybe build a plane with 5 of every weapon? Maybe build a truck with 20 miniguns on the back. Or maybe build a submarine that can fly so you can hide under the water. I think it's will be fun too see what everyone comes up with.
Here's an idea. Scatter shot tanks. Basically you have a group of either miniguns or smart cannons. Have them all point in the same general area. Then you shoot once. So treat it like a shotgun. The bullets themselves should be spread out from eachother creating a scattershot effect

Have you created a sublaunched rocket yet? You know, the sub fires the weapon up through the water, it exits the water at speed and the rocket engine kicks in. Then it explodes if it hits (or maybe optimally) gets near a target. I imagine it'd be pretty hard to overcome the drag from the water turbines while still making it compact enough to have it on the sub so its forward momentum isn't wrecked. You could modify the target drone to be horizontal or held up with balloons instead of gimbals or something to have it sort of drift slowly along at 200 m or something.
Concept: your in a pit, really doesn’t matter which, then make a giant cannon that shoots down from above (the users locked in a top down perspective like an air strike)using a movement mechanism similar to a claw machine, then have everyone else try to survive in their car they made, whoever destroys all the cars the fastest wins.
For straight flight, you can use a 1×4 wedge upside down instead of the nose cone. With the vertical stabilizers, it'll fly very straight. The 1×4 catches air resistance and trims the flight path upward. This negates the gravity drop off.

I think you should have 2, 2 person teams, and have one person from each create a manned missile, and the other create a stationary AA turrret. Each team uses their AA turret to protect a “command center” while the other teammate attempts to destroy the other trams command center with their missile
Idea: must create a plane that can be piloted into the air, then you must be able to get out of the seat (which starts a self destruct timer but can keep engines running to keep flying straight), then quickly enter a vehicle of some sort that the plane is carrying, then drive/fly that out of the plane before it self destructs and land safely near an objective within a time limit. Quickest to land wins the round, auto loss if the plane self destructs before you are able to get out, point deductions for damage on landing and landing too far from the planned objective.

The amount of times I yell at Scrapman to remind him of things he has done previously is crazy. Shoot both youre repairing after every shot anyway and you hit it when you realized you need to aim high and then second time you kept lining up instead of aiming above again.
A fun idea for the next anniversary of Chuck Yeager’s Breaking the Sound Barrier in the Bell X-1 would be for you and a friend to replicate the drop-launch from the B-29 and supersonic flight with a rocket plane in game. Had the idea since you built rockets.
Now you have to shoot each-other with rockets. Fighter vs bomber, fighters respawn with rockets, big bomber gets 4 turret guns but can't repair/respawn. Most bomber loops around the island wins.

Since you guys are good at building odd vehicles, how about a one winged broadsider? Wings on one side guns on the other, should make for an interesting dog fight when you need to circle the target instead of chasing.
Scrapman was screwed up with his own plane not being stable enough to aim properly With the simple and effective sticks like his he would hit every time if he was stable when low speed aiming.
Maybe have a seat in the rocket and have your teammate “guide” it in but the thruster stays on so they have to aim properly or crash. The other team tries to survive in a vehicle and all they have is a smart gun.

Planes must have no weapons. Submarines can have weapons for anti-air. Start with names hidden and submarines submerged. If the submarines are found, they have surface and fight off the planes with their guns while on their way to ram the carrier.
I'll admit, I'd love for custom made rockets to be viable as multiplier weapons in trail makers. Right now they feel a little too big and there's no real option to get them back without a full repair. Hopefully one day trail makers does another weapons update that adds just a few useful parts for building missiles and possible other modular weapons like railguns.

Yzuei made a good missile. But, probably not for this target type. Maybe better suited to do cruize or skim drops.
I did this once. It hit its targets well and when I attached it to a stuka on the airborne map was so fun

Great video! A compass set to 350 degrees connected to a helicopter engine would fix the target spinning for future challenges.

I think you can use heli servos+angle sensors to better control of the plane. It can be especially useful for pitch)
