I've owned 2 MGB's, a 1964 and a 1966. I drove the hell out of both, but as I drove them, there was something missing, but I had no idea what it was. There were a joy to drive, to look at, etc. After 52 years, the kids were gone, making their own livings and divorced, something amazing happen to me in late August of 2015. I test drove an MX-5. I bought it the very next day. I put about 80K miles and traded it for a 2017, which had the LSD rear. I put 80K miles on that one when the 2019 with the upgraded engine came out. Needless to say, traded again and put 80K miles on that one when the new 2023's came out with the Platinum Quartz color and the wonderfully comfortable Terracotta Napa Leather seats. I now drive the 2023 MX-5 and like all the rest, I can't stay out of it. Driving the MX-5 is what the Jaguar XKE, Austin-Heally 3000, the MGB and Austin-Heally Spitfire were all trying to do. Make a car that gives the same excitement as you get looking at a womans beautiful body.
Mazda mx5 is special because of the sense of freedom and it's ability to connect your senses to the world around you. Drives are lively and enjoyable. The car creates memories. The car has obviously been created by people with a passion for driving and respect for the history of the automobile. This car is a legend. The attention to detail is always revealing itself the more you explore the car. They didn't just slap together a car. Everything was made with purpose. You can see the love the designers have for making this car. They got everything RIGHT ! The perfect roadster !
I think the little nub on the side turn signals are for extending the angle in which the light can be seen from the rear of the car. And the little panel cover on the rear wheel arch is for a reflector or a side marker that is mandatory on foreign markets. It's usually in red or amber.
There is a tube that goes from the engine to the cabin that channels engine sound into the cabin. That can be removed but I dont think it makes it that much quiter. I might consider a quiter exhaust but I think that could reduce power so I would be hesitant to change that. Other than that there is not much to do to reduce the noise. It is what it is..
@@WizardTerence I figured as much. I understand the appeal of a loud exhaust but only when I'm on a winding road, going through the gears. But when I am on the highway, or stuck in stop and go driving, it can get annoying. The perfectly tuned exhaust should be loud when I'm pushing it and quiet when I'm not. The engine sound tube doesnt make a huge difference whether its on or off.
Actually not overpriced. The amount of tech features is just as full as any other car. This car is LOADED with every tech available, it's just not obvious . This car is very automated in all the right places yet the car feels classic. How many cars lock the gas cap with you lock the doors ? This car does. On top of all the other tech features ! LOADED !

I subbed you here. Nice job and presentation. I own a blue 2022 MX-5 Club soft top and love it!
Loving my mx 5 !
Good review!
Great car, Great review : )
That little "sharp edge" is a side marker turn signal. It flashes when your turn signal flashes.
I read in forums that the soft top has a small cubby behind the passenger seat. Did you check, by any chance?
yes meron dalawa! I could not find the footage!
Very informative review.. what a cool little sports car..❤️😍
Nice video! Does the softtop have bose speakers available too?
It has already. The unit in this video is a soft top with BOSE speaker
Thank you hehe hope to see the 30th anniversary miata review soon!
@@neil9897 when you get the soft top manual, you dnt get Bose

"Let's add 9 speakers for weight reduction!" Great
It is more for weight balance 😅
Im glad this is the automatic variant :)
The one on the side (if it has lights) I think its bug lights
Cute car
i thought that was Reygan’s scarlet
Awesome car. Hehe
It's actually 181 horsepower and 151 ft. Lbs. Torque.
Is the 3000/3000 limited edition still up for sale?😂
Even when I’m traveling at 100mph in my 2021 Miata it feels like 20mph.
Approved!
Soft top or RF?
This is soft top, but I would have to choose RF
@@SoJooCars specially the weather here in the Philippines right?
speed doesnt matter to me, the looks and the folded roof looks so good especially driving on province
Only area to improve is exhaust sound and power. That's it, it's already perfect !

Honda civic or this???
Miata is more fun. Civic is less fun.
I sold my 9 gen Civic for this. For shopping (space) and commuting I want the Civic back. Pure driving fun = MX 5
Great car...until gr yaris arrived
Very overpriced car
Do you think Chicken Mcdo is overpriced? Because I think it is. 🤣
