@@norarazaai I think post-1980s, people n media thought of her mainly as "Grease star" and "shot to fame with Grease". She was underrated in that sense.
Also many fans weren't aware of just how impressive Olivia's singing range n techniques were. it was only days ago that I became aware, thanks to an analysis done in Wings of Pegasus channel here.

@@4ndy9 Yep, this one hits hard. Grew up in the 70's and 80's, and Olivia's positive spirit and wonderful vocals on a continual string of hits were a constant in my young life, even before "Grease" came along and made her one of the biggest icons of the period.

I feel exactly the same way. I watched her numerous times before Grease and loved her instantly! She was a kind, caring, beautiful soul that touched so many hearts with her voice, beauty and her thoughtfulness. She helped the environment and other cancer patients (please excuse me) cancer thrivers as she would say. Her movies, music, memory and legacy will Liv On. Love and Light Sweet Angel!
It was so unfair for Olivia but realize this: she lived well for 30 years, productively, positively and this I know helped her. Imagine having all the fame, wealth and beauty and realizing this did not exempt you from illness, facing cancer squarely as she did. A remarkable person. Be Free Lovely Livy.
I remember well when it was announced she had cancer. I was shocked, and felt so sorry for her. When her second diagnosis was announced, I was surprised. I thought since she was cancer free, she wouldn’t have to worry anymore. I always wished I’d had the chance to see her in concert, she sang so beautifully. I had a shock myself 5 months after my father passed away. I hadn’t been feeling well, visited many doctors, and then my husband and I were disappointed that I had stage3 cancer. It was a long treatment, including 2 months in the hospital. I never fully recovered and then last year was diagnosed with lung cancer. Never smoked, but it was caught very early. 6 radiation treatments and I seem to be “cancer free” again. I can’t say enough, if you aren’t feeling well, see your doctor. It might save your life.
I've loved her since I first saw Grease in the theatre when I was 10 years old. When I read online of her death I teared up. RIP beautiful Olivia. You will be forever missed and remembered.

I saw Grease when I was 9 years old, and have been infatuated with Olivia ever since. She is a true icon and also had an incredible music career. She was always sweet and lovely with that beautiful smile. You will be missed and never forgotten Olivia.
