It wouldn’t hurt, and would definitely make bleeding a little quicker but I was flushing most of the old fluid anyway, nor did I have the caliper off for more than a few seconds so it wasn’t too bad.

Nightmare! Have you got a decent diagnostic for releasing the caliper? There’s a shop on eBay selling genuine refurbed calipers mate.
@Chris' Garage obd11 here, discs pads and a caliper to do at the weekend 👍🙂 mk2 16v for work commute in meantime 🤣

I didn't see how you blead the brake fluid?
You dont have to remove the carrier to remove the disc.
depending on the disc, yes
My rotor would not come off with the carrier on
