  • I have finally built a router table, this version is stand alone form the Dewalt table saw, as you may know it needs to be turned upside to clean the slides when you experience table saw blade binding. This is a very simple DIY router table you can make very inexpensively.

This is my favourite video of yours, busted out laughing when you trimmed the end and poked the screws through, we've all been there! 😄
Now, why are you using plexi for the insert? Cut out the rectangle completely, and then from underneath install 4 strips of ply that will act as a lip all the way around the opening. Then cut another piece of the same formply for the Insert which fits the rectangle nicely. Pop a hole in the centre of that insert, screw it to your router mount, and you've got an insert which will be the same thickness/flatness as the table, but with far improved holding power over the plexi.
Also, that whole area of your shop is cleaning up nicely, what a change from older videos it is now!

SO familiar. Nothing squares up, nothing works and the language develops as the project continues! Not sure why but every now and then one particular build seems to include every scrap of bad luck. Been there, done that. In the end it's gonna be a really useful tool. Fingers crossed it works exactly as you want. Thanks for sharing this, I had a rye smile on my face the whole way though.

I just finished building the handrail on my deck th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z and used this great little router to clean up the top rail before the final sanding and stain. It was light weight but packed lots of power. Either size battery didn't seem to make it top heavy and I'm a 64 yr old women so I really appreciated how easy it was to use......................
