Great video! Do you have an idea how to disable "Command+Tab" for switching opened tabs on MacBook, so I can assign the same shortcut for switching between tabs in Mozilla, Photosop, Illustrator etc? Also shortcuts in the video have writen exact name of the command when you open a program, others like switching tabs don't have, so where can I find whole list of Mac system commands, so I can edit all the shortcuts I need. You use Control+Tab for switching tabs. Leave Command+Tab for switching apps. You can find keyboard shortcuts in the Menu Bar on a per-app basis, and system ones in System Settings, Keyboard.
@@macmost Thanks for fast response. The problem is I remaped Mac for pc keyboard, so I only have Ctrl button, remapped as command. The result is that now on PC keyboard Ctrl+Tab equals Command+Tab and I cannot divide theese two actions. So Ctrl+Tab now work as system switching of the apps, but when I try to use same command (but as Windows Ctrl+Tab), for other programs it only shuffles open apps, not tabs in programs.
@@igormarkisic1009 Yes you will run into issues doing that. Not something I would recommend. You are going to have to compromise with how you set things up now.
Hi Gary! I have conflicting Keyboard shortcuts on my MacBook Pro. Special Paste and Paste and Match Formatting are both option+shift+command+V. It defaults to Special paste but what I really want is paste and match formatting. How do I fix this issue? I don't know what I did to make that happen but it wasn't that way two days ago. Specifically in Powerpoint
I don't have PowerPoint so I can't look myself. Is one of these your own custom shortcut you set in System Preferences? If so, set a separate one for the other command, or change the first.
Darn it. With the recent upgrade, System Preferences is now System Settings and looks different; could you make a video explaining how to do this for mac OS Ventura? I never want to hid any app by accident, and it's annoying when I hit the shortcut keys by mistake.

Im trying to remove the fullscreen button in a specific app since I press Ctrl and F a lot during it, but even after seeing the cmd change in the bar above, the app still fullscreens and exits. How do I do fix this? Thanks!
Make sure you add both Enter Full Screen and Exit Full Screen since the command toggles. I just tried it and tested with Safari and FN+F stopped working in favor of my new combo. Not sure why it isn't working for you, sorry.
How can I change the annoying Command + number used to open bookmarks? It is not listed in a menu so I dont know the exact name. I keep pressing it when trying to type an "@". Command + 1 = opens first bookmark and so on, i want to get rid of this. Only thing I found in Safari settings is to change Command + number to switch between tabs, but I want to kill that keyboard shortcut entirely.
@@macmost Because many software (Including SalesForce) uses that combination as multi-select, but with default setting, it'd be impossible to multi-select when everytime you click on a cell, a window pops out covering up the next selection.

Why do you need to disable that one though? Hitting 3 keys is hard to do by accident. Plus it doesn't log you out, it just brings up the dialog box asking if you want to log out. Just cancel.
@@macmost well thanks for the answer, i work as a photoretoucher and i have my hand forever placed in the left side of the keyboard the right hand is over the pen tablet far away. All of those letter key are juicy and they are remapped for my usual filters or tools (they are so many) pressing all the modifier in combo with a letter it's easy if you don't not cross the line of the letters c d e and sometimes i press the wrong button and it's annoying, plus long time ago mac operating systems didn't have that shortcut and i used to assign to the conversion or profile assignment of an image but the thing that bothers me the most is that a user can't delete an unwanted shortcut. i can live with it don't worry 😁 thanks for answering
You can't. Not sure what you have going on with your tablet, but there must be some workflow that would work for you as otherwise it would be a problem for everyone. Maybe ask in a Wacom support forum?

Do you mean Netflix in the web browser? That would be a command built into the Netflix web app then, not something you'd find in macOS or in the Menu Bar.

Not sure what you are asking. Are you looking to upgrade to Sonoma. Go to System Settings, General, Software update and you'll see an update notice there as long as your Mac is compatible.

@@macmost I'm still on Monterey, so no Stage Manager. I just tried it with Safari and Mail open side by side, but it does it with any app. Option and left clicking anywhere on a non active window will minimise the currently active one.
@@TilenCurin Thats not normal. Not sure why you are holding the Option key down and clicking on another window, but even if you do it shouldn't minimize anything unless you are clicking the - button. Perhaps you have some window manager extension installed?

Did you try what I show in the video? It doesn't matter what the shortcut is now, just set a new one. Like if it is exactly "Enter Full Screen" then set a new one for that for that app.

nvm docent work either btw if its any help the game is roblox but ive changed everything deleted chrome and I changed the Exit Full Screen command on every app that I use Roblox for and still nothing must just be like a command implanted into the Mac

I have searched system settings, keyboard, text replacements and found nothing. I have never intentionally created a shortcut on my Mac. I even took the added precaution of resetting everything I could find in settings/keyboard to default. Still get cat emoji. Not a problem when I send a text from iPhone, just from Mac. Hmmm.
@@johnsundean399 That really sounds like a Text Replacement. I would double-check that, scroll through the whole list and look carefully. If you are sure it isn't there, then the next step would be to get some firsthand help (Apple Support or other).
I found it. Since my issue affected text messages I sent from Mac OS X only, not iphone, not other apps, I searched in Messages menus. In Edit menu, under Substitutions, I unchecked Emoji Replacements. I never did find any place the specific substitution of a cat emoji for X3 was entered, but this solved my issue. It may mean I can't use shortcuts to create emojis in text messages from Mac, but I don't care about that.

No idea what would cause that but I would suspect some sort of third-party app or extension. Think about what you have installed.

Sounds like maybe the keyboard is simply broken. Have you contacted Logitech for support?

When typing text Option will work like Shift to give you other characters. Use something with the Command key for a shortcut elsewhere.

I agree. But it is a frequent request as people find it too each to hit Command+Q. You can always quit from the menu bar, FYI.

Use this technique too set it to something else, like Command+Option+Shift+M.
