What if Arb Air lockers installs in already active traction control new fortuner , will it increase its off road capability ? Or it doesn't need those locker
Anshuman Bishnoi In Australia the fortuner is available with a factory fitted rear locker. But activating it disables the traction control on the front diff leading to a front wheel spinning out, unlike the new endeavour which maintains traction control to the front diff with the rear locker engaged. Some Aussie 4wheeldrive publications didn’t find much of a difference on the new fortuner with the rear locker engaged or disengaged on a rutted climb.
It would be great to know how these air lockers actually lock the differentials, and how different they are from the standard diff locks from eaton etc that we find in stock SUVs
Anshuman Bishnoi there are many channels for off road enthusiasts but most of us check your videos. I haven't come across another channel in India that spreads this amount of awareness for overlanding and off roading. I just suggested an idea for another educational video. Im a bhpian myself so yes I know how these lockers work 🙂
Has anyone ever tried installing Air lockers in the front differential?? If yes then how is it , I have heard that it does make turning a little difficult when locked , but will make a hell of a difference along with rear lockers
Almost all cars here come with IFS(Independent front suspension), which is relatively much less robust and has less abuse taking ability compared to front Solid Axle equipped 4x4's. Now with IFS, using locker on front axle will require high levels of expertise, even then the risk of damage will too high. The CV Joints, Tie end joints, the diff assembly rupture in no time....the damage can run into lakhs in no time. Even usage of rear diff lock requires a lot of precautions, the reason no manufacturer is interested in giving it as OE option in India(Endy OE rear diff lock has electronic overrides to prevent damage, this kind of override can also result in unpredictable behaviour, diff lock not available when you need it the most). Both the Fortuner and Endeavour are very capable in stock form, to outperform the capability of the cars requires good skills or foolishness. I wouldn't recommend modifications on Endeavour anyways, the electronics are just too complex.
Zohaib Quaiyumi, Any 4x4 enthusiast will try to improve capabilities of his 4x4, But sad to see people spending lacs of rupees on their 4x4s just to improve their aesthetics with useless mods.
Hi I m considering a second hand pajero sport .... would be a good off roading choice ??? Would like to connect with someone who could talk about pajero ....or should I get a thar
Agent. K. I didn't want to run extra wiring along the length of the car plus it's one of the recommended locations for install by ARB itself. Pajero Sport had the space in the engine bay while the Endy didn't. You have to ensure some precautions but with due care, install in the engine bay shouldn't cause much trouble.
Mahesh Gangaraddi Apart from the low end grunt, it is fairly competent. Steering and handling are very good. Mileage will vary between 8-10 kmpl in city driving based on usage.
The Compressor installed in the engine bay of the Pajero might get damaged because of the engine heat. Its a neat install but reliability is at a stake
Great!! Can't wait to see both locker equipped vehicles in real-time action! Good going.
First video releasing tomorrow
Aa jao Dilli testing ke liye. Sticker aapne hi lagana hai :-)

Turning with front diff lock is not possible, the car can only be used in straight line.
only a serious enthusiast will spend 1.25 lac on lockers....great to see that
