I generally agree. But tbh sets that depict smaller vehicles, are better when they get downsized. What i care about is that they are somewhat up to minifigure-scale. And in the Star Wars universe, its obvious that A LOT of stuff cant be put into minifig-scale because it would be way to large. That’s why downsizing bigger ships or other vehicles is horrible. Good examples are the Slave 1 you showed (i like to compare it to the 2019 one which is spot on perfect in comparison). Also the new Sith Infiltrator is a good example, a big ship, feels more or less right in the scale it was in 2015 but now the new one from 2024 is so much smaller and its just worse. On the other hand, having the issue of big vehicles being impossible to be put in scale, it makes it look horrible when they oversized small vehicles like Starfighters. That’s why i think downsizing the X-wing and Tie-Fighter into what’s pretty much minifigure accurate scale is really a good thing. Having smalll vehicles being too large is so bad especially because the proportionality to sets that are smaller than minifigure scale makes it look ridiculous. In my view therefore i Like Starfighters and smaller things (X-Wings,Tiefighters,Jedi Starfighters,Speeders, smaller vehicles walkers etc.) to be in minifigure scale and NOT any larger, and can just accept the reality of bigger vehicles being to small. I mean you wont get a Stardestroyer in minifigscale and also i think playscale for AT-AT and Millenium Falcon etc look great. But when they reduce the size on these models even further, like with the Slave1 or Sith infiltrator its BAD!!!
I think the main issue is sets and smaller and more expensive!!!! I’m perfectly fine with either, as long as they look good!!! But also as long as they are properly priced!!!! But for every small set we get I would like to get a bigger one next. And also to not wait 10-15 years to get the next bigger/smaller version.
I had the 2010 one and this new one is so ridiculously small - like how are you supposed to play with that as a child? Ig it is cheaper to make for Lego and people still buy so it...
Molding bigger pieces is technically more complicated than smaller pieces. It also obviously uses up less material to produce smaller parts. So you can sell the same or even less amount of plastic while still ''selling more pieces'' and increasing the price
17:23 My god. You are not selfish for wanting a good product as a customer. The solution is simply LEGO stopping being a greedy company. Lego does not ''keep the piece count low'' out of their good heart so everybody can afford their sets. That's BS, I work with children, many families cant afford LEGO. They are a company, all they want is your money
LEGO Star Wars isn’t just for adults…..or teens……kids want it too…..and a kid doesn’t need a big complicated set to build and play with. The UCS sets are HUGE! And, not everybody has a large house/room to have these sets on display yet they would like to collect something that isn’t massively huge. And after 25 years there is remake after remake after remake for the community to choose from, pick the size that satisfies your needs…..there are many many to choose from. And to say that a kid can’t play with a smaller set…….get a copy of set 442 or 487, I had hours of play with those sets when I was a kid and they are tiny compared all these “small” Star Wars sets. Get a copy of the 487 and compare it in size to the small Slave 1, it will dwarf the 487.
They aren’t making anything more affordable lol but smaller and not targeted to kids prices . So who are they selling to ? Adults lol with money . They are just trying to see how much they get away with. They don’t care at this point. I have lots of Lego Star Wars….. I’m 26 but at this point it’s unappealing many sets are not that great when they look funky and small compared to past counterparts . I’m more selective when I buy if it’s looks weird or off I pass . I get the Lego space issue when collecting but you can always put things away or rotate sets . When Lego decides to sell and downscale there’s no way around it you can’t just make it bigger lol.

What, do you guys just have infinite space in your houses? Smaller but more detailed sets with more pieces seems like a win win.

I HEARD ABOUT THAT I’M SO EXCITED
new arc170 made me sad

The sets from 1999-2001 are all pretty small. Check the very first slave 1, tie fighter, x wing etc.

Let’s just ignore that the original Slave 1 is the same size as the current one!🙄
W lego collection. Very organized. Would look at that collection for hours on end.
but yknow what it's missing? a damn duck baybeeee 🦆 🦆 😎
If LEGO makes a duck set I will buy it

The only way we fix it is as a community say no AND state reasons why clearly. This way they can't spin it.
The slave 1 is the most extreme example of this though. All the other downsized sets are actually better than their older variats.
