    As a Scottish grandmother and daughter of a D Day veteran I would like to acknowledge and thank Canada for your great sacrifice and steadfast support during that campaign and the long years of courage in the years prior to the final push to liberation.

    It’s a minor irritant that those of us who reside in Washington must endure the designation “state” (sometimes capitalized as if it were a proper name) to avoid confusion with the city we call “D.C”. That nitpick aside, the inspiration of this message is to commend the excellent shout out to Canada’s contribution to D-Day. My English/Scottish forbearers came to the US through Canada. I have great affinity for our sane neighbors up north and visit Vancouver on a regular basis. That the important Canadian contribution to the war is often overlooked is regretful. Well done giving credit where credit is due.

    I am Canadian by choice from roots in French soil. I grew up during WW2 and saw first hand the Canadian sacrifice over my village. The sight of dismembered, burned bodies of three Canadians aviators has stayed in my brain ever since. Je me souviens.

    Mr. Frum’s analysis concerning the recent election in Mexico was particularly astute as it looks beyond the superficial gender and ethnic concerns - issues, by the way, that were emphasized in the legacy media - and places it in its proper context with the current leader of Mexico. A tip of the cap to the Hub and Mr. Frum for producing this consistently distinctive and excellent public affairs program.

    David Frum's comments about Claudia are racially and sexually biased and surprising. He probably would've opined similarly about iconic Speaker Emerita Pelosi, Leticia James, Hillary Clinton, snd other great women leaders. Mexico's female leaders are also doing a great job. Claudia's election will bring many surprises hopefully solving many problems including drug cartels and immigration. Best of luck to Claudia.

      The way David Frum talks about statistical facts being eliminated from Mexico and says that criminal behavior is being tolerated in Mexico is no different than what most Red State Governor have done. Many of those states have elected congressional representatives who I feel are borderline criminal. We used to live in Florida and have found Mexico to be a great place to live. It seemed to us during the campaign for elections here recently the people of the Middle Class were overwhelming wanting the candidates to care about them and social services.

    Thank you for this most relevant and moving discussion of D-day. My father’s dearest brother lost his life in the Normandy invasion. No one in our family ever forgot his sacrifice. His whole surviving family (mother, father, four brothers and five sisters) sacrificed through their loss as did so many other families.
    I am grateful that President Biden represented our country on this 80th anniversary of D-Day and that he honored the sacrifice of the living and the dead to preserve democracy.

    On the election, the effects of Trump's legal cases may boil down to the effects of a narrow group of voters in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, and possibly just a narrow group of voters in Pennsylvania. Other states may simply be already locked in on party lines.

    Oh well, it's his own personal beliefs and POV, although not necessarily a correct path that he's leaning upon and doesn't hold up upon closer scrutiny and current polling trends... of course, a day in politics is a lifetime in which news cycle can spin a sizable shift in polling trending... yep, it's a close political presidential 2024 race... therefore that in itself is understandably revealing the Biden administration policies weakness with electorate.
    So, my best to David Frum.

    • @markanthony3275
      @markanthony3275 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bud...the video of the event says otherwise. There's a reason most of it will never be seen by the people...because then the insurrectionist narrative would suffer a fatal blow. Same reason the Democrats did not want to televise Trump's trial in N.Y., they didn't want the people to see the sham that it was. You think about it, the Dems take every opportunity possible to humiliate Donald Trump, and a televised trial would have been the ultimate humiliation. There was only one problem though...no crime had actually been committed. They didn't want the people to see that. Of course, if you suffer from TDS, your opinion wouldn't change anyway. Btw, if elected, Trump is gonna sign an executive order mandating a vaccine. You love your vaccines...right? Well this one will be for TDS, and then you can join normal society and have relationships with normal people again.

    I’m an American who follows our politics pretty closely. Bragg was somewhat reluctant to bring this case having turned it down once. The lawfare against Trump is very obvious to most Americans, for and against Trump. Most Americans have a pretty high sense of fairness and don’t like what’s going on. Further, both the civil cases he lost and the criminal one are ripe for being overturned due to very faulty legal logic and/or extreme prejudice clearly demonstrated by the judges evidenced by their actions during the trials.
    Biden is such a poor President both from a health and policy perspective. Trump should have little trouble beating him however more and more people are aware of possible dirty tricks that Democrats may still try to stop Trump. Recently the Hunter Biden trial has revealed how the FBI/DOJ knew his laptop was valid back in October 2019, 1 year before the 2020 election. Yet 51 former intelligence officials signed a letter saying it wasn’t. This was at the behest of Anthony Blinken, current Secretary of State.
    The American government is very corrupt and more and more Americans are figuring that out. More and more are looking to Trump to stop it.

      The Hunter Biden travesty is a prime exsmple of GOP dirty tricks with Barr's assistance & Biden did not move to interfere - it will play out in Court

    • @barrymutlow
      @barrymutlow 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem with your analysis is it lacks facts and common sense. Yes Bragg was somewhat reluctant to bring forth the case because he said it is ongoing and they were still gathering evidence. Once he became familiar with all the evidence is was a no brainer. Trump committed crimes in NY State. A Grand Jury agreed. The prosecutors presented the evidence in court and the jury convicted him. Based on the evidence there is little chance of the conviction being overturned. Most honest legal experts have said the judge was more than fair to Trump. Trump committed a crime and he’s guilty. Trump has been corrupt for decades so finally justice is catching up to him. As far as Biden is concerned there has been no evidence there is anything wrong with his health considering his age. As far as his policies go the majority of Americans like his legislative achievements. The problem is too many blame Biden for the inflation when the facts are that most of the causes of the inflation go back to Trump. To Trump’s tax cuts, budget deficits, his pressure on the FED to keep interest rates low and his disastrous handling of the pandemic. There’s your cause for the current inflation. Then add in Putin’s war. If Americans elect Trump it will be a disaster for them and all democratic countries.
