Hi, nice video. Have you ever been on Athuruga and can you compare it? We have been a few times on Athuruga and it seems to be that the watervillas on Thudufushi were not that broken as on Athuruga. Do you think it was worth the money?
Thanks for watching Stefan. I haven't been to Athuruga but we thought the over water villa's were worth the upgrade. As you can see on the video, they are spacious and comfortable with a lovely sized decking and to just be able to walk down into the ocean is great. Plus you get the water restaurant included in the upgrade price. Hope that helps

Hi Mike, Thank you so much for your very informative videos. We are planning to go to Maldives at the end of October ( you were In February). Our must to do is, good house reef at the island and swimming with Whale-sharks. We can’t decide which one to choose either Diamond Thudufushi or Lux South Ari Atoll. Your video gave us a good idea 👍. Thanks. 🙏

We really loved Thudufushi and it's the only place that we have been to that my wife didn't want to come home from.
The reef off the beach when we went, esp in front of the restaurant, was good (its where i filmed the turtles) and much better then around the over water villa we were in but, the marine life everywhere was very good.
I went out on a boat for a Whale shark safari but sadly I didn't see one. I think it's a bit pot luck, but, Thudufushi isn't far from a Whale shark nursery area and many people do see them. They also do numerous noat trips to see rays, turtles etc
We have been talking over this weekend about going back in 2025 as we already have a number of trips booked for this year.

Thanks very much Paul. We stayed in a water villa and we had 2 types of plugs in the villa. The std UK 3 prong plug and also a small 3 pin round socket.

Wonderful Video very informative, very much appreciated for all the little tips you have passed on, I presume this is totally all inclusive resort & hotel? I am thinking of booking this for next year but was looking at June but I heard you say in the vid that May June & July are to be avoided cause of the weather, so maybe I look at September, have been to Maldives many years ago in February weather then was lovely

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is totally all inclusive for accommodation, the buffet restaurant, drinks and snacks near the reception area, snorkel, mask and fins and the Maldivian night.
If you stay in an over water villa as we did, the over water a la carte fine dining restaurant is also included. You pay extra for this if you stay in a beach villa. The only other extras are any excursions you may want to do.
We went in Jan/Feb and will be going back as we loved it. Other guests who had returned many times told us to avoid the months you say due to rainfall.

Hi Mike.. we travel to Thudufushi very soon … we have travelled to many Maldivian islands but this our first time to south ari atoll ! Have you any vids of the aqua resturant and more of the water villas as we will be staying in a jacuzzi water villa .. looks great ! Also did you go on any manta ray or whale shark trips ? Or diving ?
Hi If you look at my video of the walk around the island on the same channel, I do a walk around of my water villa at the end of the video.
The water villa was lovely and I'm sure you'll love it. That same video also covers both restaurants and there is a picture of the Aqua restaurant in that.
The only trip I did was to see the whale shark but sadly, although it was a good trip, we didn't see a whale shark, despite trying. I'll be posting a video of the marine life around the water villa in the next day or so, so if you subscribe to my channel, you'll get notification when I post it 👍

Tranquil and idyllic.. we travelled to Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa last year and with it being on one of the largest shallow reefs in the Maldives the sand was very corse and sharp on the foot something we had never witness in Maldives before … thank you ! Breakfast on the water villa terrace deck sounds great although we like to go for breakfast at the restaurant (aqua)

@Pastyism my pleasure. We had breakfast at the Aqua restaurant several times as well as the buffet restaurant that was also very good inc a very good fresh juice bar
Lunch and dinner at the Aqua restaurant is fine dining every day, but the buffet restaurant also has a fine dining station in the middle for lunch and dinner. I should be posting the marine life video off of the steps of the water villa and beach later today

Thanks Martin. We didn't encounter any mosquitos when we visited and there was certainly no pumping music, just peace and quiet
@@Mikes_Travels Ty I meant that so many videos of the maledives have some annoying clubmusic as background music. ;-)

Hi Mike, one thing I need to check... what type of travel plugs do we need? Conflicting info online so worth an ask.
Hi Kev In the water villa we stayed in, we had both the British 3 pin plug and the 3 pin more circular plug sockets. Hope that helps

@Kev B very jealous 😊 You'll have an amazing time. The villa, the staff and food were fantastic. I was a bit disappointed at the dead coral around the villa, but it doesn't take anything away from the amazing sea life you'll see and the best coral was off the beach in front of the buffet restaurant. There is a money cashier service in the late afternoon in the reception area if you need to change up money for tips.
The boardwalk to the villa can get very hot (you may have seen the big white water containers dotted along the boardwalk in my videos. These are literally to put your feet in to cool them down. I'd recommend wearing flip flops or sliders walking along here if you don't want to use the golf buggy and there is a place to leave your footwear at the end of the boardwalk.
The sun rises on the side of the water villa's numbered 1 to 9 and sets in front of the 2, 2 bedroom villas at the end. You get a great view of the sunset from your villa, the beach or from the pontoon near the spa
If you have a Drone, you can fly it but only off the pontoon where I start my video. You have to speak to reception first to sign a disclaimer and you always have to check with them first due to the take off and landings of the sea planes
