Welcome to Lovebites, the Wolfpack, Lovebites fans around the world will be along to give you information and recommendations.
Lovebites are a Japanese metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, and Haruna, Drums, who are former members of Destrose, a band that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons, she is the bassist in this video.
The present members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker.
Midori, ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior' who is also a body builder.
Miyako, Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. the 'serious' one with long black hair. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio.
Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play amazing harmonised dual solos.
Fami, Bass. The 'new girl', recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university, playing her first live show with the band in March 2023. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was about 16.
Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. I saw Lovebites live in London recently, and watched Haruna in awe. She plays fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long.

These ladies really shine on stage. I have been to London twice recently to see them during their just concluded European tour, and am so glad I did. LOVEBITES are one of the most musically talented metal bands on the planet. They simply don't have a bad song in their catalogue.
The basic gist of this song is about their struggles as a female band trying to make it in the male-dominated world of metal, and trying to bring a positive message in a world dominated by violent, angry and dark messages. It's about their desire to succeed against all the people telling them they can't do it.

You still haven't experienced this band till you watch them LIVE. Insanely talented musicians who wear their femininity proudly but are total metal goddesses especially on stage. Empty Daydream, Swan Song with Chopin piano intro, Frozen Serenade or any of their other 60+ songs especially the LIVE videos will give you the real experience with this band.

I am reverse in my approach to music. Music is all about melody, harmony, rhythm and beat. Lyrics follow everything. Music stands alone without lyrics, just as poetry lives without music. This is why I've never considered rap synonymous with music. Vocal tone, timbre, range and delivery are incredibly important to have great music, IF there is a vocalist. I will digest lyricism after all the aforementioned aspects of musicality have been addressed. Having said all this, Asami's lyrics are generally powerful and uplifting, often showing the quirks of a Japanese native who is not fluent in English. This is why she gets extra credit from me for singing all the lyrics as well as she does in a foreign tongue, looking exquisitely graceful and playful as if it's no big deal. Thanks, and peace!

LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".
On 11 June 2018, LOVEBITES won '🏆BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HAMMER.
On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full.

LOVEBITES toured the Netherlands, Germany, France and UK from November 13-21, 2018.
Asami (Vo) of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm "Download Japan 2019(March 21)", singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's 'Love Bites', which gave the band their name.
LOVEBITES performed as a support band for "Arch Enemy's China tour at the Shanghai show on March 23 and the Beijing show on March 24, 2019".
LOVEBITES participated in "dowload Festival 2019(June 15)".

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already recorded 4 full length studio albums, in addition some EPs and Singles and a bunch of live albums, available on CD and DVD/Blu-ray.
In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest.
They will be in the US for the first time later this year.
In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“.
A new EP and a live album will be released on august 28.

She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
We will never forget her, she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3

They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans.
They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,
heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal,hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, R&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. Obviously they draw a lot from British, German and American metal. All this makes their style unique.

LOVEBITES is a five-member all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). They transcend gender, genre, and geography, with some 60 songs in their discography. They won Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band (2018), toured with Dragonforce (2019), first female Japanese band to perform at Wacken Open Air (Germany) and others in Europe, and are unusual among Japanese bands in choosing to sing in English plus good lyrics (a daunting task for native Japanese speakers).

Interestingly, one of their lead guitarist (Miyako) just released a classical piano EP that covers Metallica (Battery), Gary Moore (The Loner), Yngwie Malmsteen (Far Beyond The Sun), Helloween (Eagle Fly Free), and Deep Purple (Burn)
Lovebites are unique, phenomal, and on world class level. Period.
Lovebites combine Classical music and "western" Metal sounds with Japanese music motives. An absolutely _mesmerizing_ approach. You can still listen to all other western Metal bands you like, but Lovebites perform _current_ Metal _mastership_ . And in terms of their lyrics, they get straight to the point, and their lyrics actually _mean something_ . Most of them are motivational for our everyday lives.
In my opinion, Lovebites simply give Metal a good name. At least Metal songs again, which I can present to my non-Metalhead friends. I experienced _no_ Non-Metalhead up to know, who did _not_ at least nod to the quality of their music, out of respect. _Not one yet_ .
