I don't use aftermarket carts, but I definitely use aftermarket inks. The prints from these carts look dull because you don't have an ICC profile for the ink, so the printer or Photoshop or whatever you're printing from is doing it's best attempt at guessing. Whereas the Epson inks are tuned for their own ICC profile that's installed with the driver. In fact you might have been printing the aftermarket prints with the Epson ICC profile. With a spectrophotometer you can generate an ICC profile from test prints... of course, not everyone has an expensive dedicated piece of hardware laying around to profile their colors :P
Seems like a bad joke. Why? Bc in a 10:44 min video "demonstration" to compare the performance of two brands of ink, he actually does NOT bother to SHOW us the results. It's like telling you to taste-test two cakes that are behind glass, out of reach, as the baker tells you all about them without letting you actually taste them. We can see the two papers with the results laid side by side on the table but they are too far away to actually SEE them and make any sort of comparison..
This could've been a very informative review, if you had provided some close-up side by side comparisons to back up the discussion.

sounds like this dude, is pushing OEMs.
Compatable inks can be good but if genuing inks/tiners where bot so Expensive then no one would be buy compatable cartrages
