I've seen this build in way too many pub lobbies. It haunts me. Nothing against Kknowley, the rest of his videos are great, just that he makes meh builds. There are a lot of people that make meh builds, but they don't market them as "the best build", which is where I see a problem. Players who don't know better will fall into a trap build like this one, or any of b33croft's builds and think "wow ds really is hard" when in reality it's the build that is failing them.

I figured that it would be clear for others to make a build by showing what not to do from this one, but I guess it’s my fault for assuming something like that. Here’s a build you could run that is similar and would outperform this:

Grab the m60 modded for highest stats and 128 damage which lets you get 2 shot headshots along with a db grimm secondary.

While I found listening to myself in this context really hard, I still enjoyed the video in a weird...masochistic sort of way. I'm going to take all of this on board when making any future builds and really appreciate the critique. One of the issues I have when making builds is they're not peer-reviewed, so I probably have a tendency to make sweeping statements because they sound right in my script. To make matters worse, most of my testing was played with a capable friend and AI, meaning as you say, I was able to rely on a ludicrous quantity of Medic bags and simply going down to refill my armor. In any case, know that I appreciate the effort you're going to with videos like these and am an avid viewer of your content myself. Personally, I'm going to be working on some less gameplay focused videos for now, so rest easy ;) I look forward to you grilling my CS video when I get round to it!
Taking criticism well (like you appear to here) is good, so keep that in mind if the rest of the situation makes you feel bad :D
I appreciate you not taking the criticism to heart, and I do hope that you use it to improve future builds. My goal has always been to help others improve through both general advice and better builds, and since you have a wider reach to the community than I do, I hope that you can make more builds to give to others that will help them beat DSOD easier. c:

There's no way people can think ICTV Anarchist is better than suit after seeing those clips. If someone ever tells me I'm wrong, I will just send this video.
Also, the videos with commentary are infinitely better - I watched the entire video without being bored for a single second.
I think it's the way new people approach the game from a basic RPG player's perspective - Armor (and lots of it) for a tanky build, Dodge for anything else, because even casual gamers are used to those two extremes and may not even think about specific mechanics in-depth. So when a new player sees Anarchist for example, "oh it regens armor, better have a lot of armor on me just like in all those other games I've played, so ICTV is the way to go".

The Suit Anarchist template I’ve copied from this video has carried me through many a heist. I don’t play much of DW, much less loud DS/OD, but due to how easy it is to use and utilize it makes my builds less focused on the perks and skills and more on what weapons I *want* to use, instead of needing to use. Plus, it goes well with low blow and berserker builds. While I do double dip both of them, seeing the high body counts (along with killing a dozer with a melee swing if need be) gives me such a rush of dopamine.
I just found your channel due to this video and then I started to binge watch you fixing all of b33croft’s build and I just want to say thank you so much I’ve been using his builds and I end up going down way to easily and I always felt like I wasn’t getting the maximum potential out of my build. So please keep doing what you are doing. And I have one question I’m trying to use the biker perk deck since I just bought rust when are you gonna do that one?

-Quick thing I missed, it's infamy 2 and not 3 since fugitive auto gets the reductions. I'm used to the reductions either going into mastermind for inspire, enforcer for the ICTV, or ghost for Unseen Strike/ Sneaky Bastard. Shouts to those that told me I messed that up.-
Well, it was infamy 3, because first infamy is The heat, not an infamy reduction.

About parkour aced, I don't think it's a bad skill, I play with stoic on build I made myself and I use Parkour aced, if you need to stop your reload, just use the melee button and there you go, if the enemy is close-by you can even dominate him if you hit the melee and the enemy is far away and you are out of ammo, you would die regardless.
The skill works perfectly with locke and load aced and instead of running to cover and reload, you can just run to cover while reloading, I'm not new to DS, I have the DSOD mask myself and most of the time I didn't had the skill equipped, I was missing her more than I was happy about not having it.
I actually run both these skills using grinder, works like a charm.
Use both in my hacker build and running around like a maniac shooting people and then reloading at the same time is very useful.
Didnt know reload cancelling was such a factor in dsod , ill try not taking it , should makes my build more flexible , :D thx for the tip
If you ever do another "killing test" I'd suggest starting the timer after getting the first kill.
Gotta love these videos, I just buy anarchist like a poor and now I want to get invested in playing DSOD and make my own builds.
Tip: if you want to sound a little bit more clear you can cover yourself and you mic whit a blanket, that reduces the noise of the outside or you family and can improve a little bit the audio, not that it's bad but it definitely could be better
I might have to try that since I do so many takes just due to my family being loud. Hope it works better than my current setup of waiting for them to settle down before trying to record a 3 second clip lol
@@CarrotIsBad you can try doing you recordings in the night or morning but that's it's next level thinking, also it's no a big deal, you can also change the cinfig of the mic or the audio in Sony Vegas.

Idk about you but I always get parkour aced. I cancel my reload with a melee. Also I always try to use fast reloading guns like the Gewehr 3. Also when you use a nade launcher to bust through enemy lines, I believe it would be best if you could sprint and reload at the same time. Idk just my thing i guess

Having to create a solution to a problem that wouldn’t be there without the skill along with 0 tangible benefits doesn’t make it an advantage, it makes it a disadvantage.

suit is better, it takes 2 seconds to recharge armor compared to the lbv's 3 seconds which will save you more often than the lbv

Seriously, parkour aced is hated for no reason. You should never even be reloading out of cover.
@@LeaveMeAloneFBI i think the hate is kind of justified since reload cancel is very handy, and usually more comfortable than melee cancelling, and about reloading out of cover, first of all, there are just sometimes where you dont have any other option, or your brain just auto reloads accidentally, and even ignoring realoading out of cover, its not like an enemy can suddenly rush in front of you and shoot while you are defenseless.

I would say probably crew chief, hacker, maniac, and a stoic. Everyone just buffs the stoic to godlike status.

what is infamy reduction? (you may be as descriptive as possible with the answer)
The first 4 or 5 (can't remember) infamy levels provide you skill point cost reduction for moving up a tier.
Each spec of infamy of the first ones gives you 2 skill point cost reduction to reach the top skill of a tree.
Look at this build:

Infamy's cost reduction helps you shave that 2 skill point cost to reach higher tiers.
You want to reach the top one, left is with infamy, middle is without infamy. If you're not interested in the additional skills, you shave 2 points.
The cost reduction means you need only 16 points to reach the tier 4 skills (as opposed to 18).
Pre-infamy 3.0, infamies 2-5 could (and should) be spent to apply this discount to one of the skill trees per infamy (except Fugitive, because you get that as a bonus for getting any of the others). When Carrot says Kknowley's build could be done at infamy 3, it could actually be done at infamy 2 because Fugitive would come free with the Enforcer discount.
With infamy 3.0 the discounts are given for all trees at infamy 1, so it's now a moot point for PC.

Arguably yes, as they can give you extra health, which gets converted into armor to help reach certain breakpoints.

@@DM-wn8jm That's another way to get it, yes, but jokers provide way more than that, making it worth the investment. Namely drawing aggro to prevent you from taking damage and activating your god mode prematurely.
Kevkild recently uploaded a solo run of Diamond Heist getting kills with nothing but jokers if it gives you any idea.

I'm playing an anarchist build with a pulimet. With a high risk of detection - no slope. What do I need as a son-in-law in the armor slot? A simple jacket? Is it possible to play with the "Anarchist" perk without dodging?
Anarchist is not a dodge deck so does not need dodge skills. On lower difficulties any armour can work but on Death Sentence suit is best as you have the fastest armour regen
For the anarchist build, since iunno who else to ask lmao, would it be wort getting optical illusions alongside Jokers? And, if I get rid of body expertise, is Surefire aced at all useful?
Sure fire can still be useful as a backup for when you miss, but’s it’s not worth the 9 points imo. Unless you have nothing else to spend it on, I wouldn’t get it.
@@CarrotIsBad I'd rather spend it on getting shotgun skills and Overkill aced for the one shot on heavies, two shot headshots on specials, etc. Or maybe drill skills, saws, etc. WAY better places to spend it.
parkour aced is pretty okay if you have something like mac 10 with speed reload. It allows you to both run to cover and reload.

@@xA0SAA b33croft doesn't make terrible builds. some issues yes but builds will or can have those. theyre not bad especially compared to knowley's old build.
in general beecroft's and knowley's old builds are pretty weird/bad, one might be better than the other but its really similar, but they also improved on their build making as time went on

Have you used an ice pick against a dozer (with the melee build up) - the number of times I had to reload in front of a dozer with 20% hp left, I melee them and they die is countless. So yeah, I would swing an ice pick at a dozer, because it works. Also gives CR805B's 0.75s reload with quickpull mag for whatever else I need.
Surprisingly reliable on DW, msotly reliable on DS - but betterr than nothing. 1600%dmg +200% is a lot without a faceplate

What do you think of ballistic vest on anarchist? I've been running it for a long time on my lmg anarchist, I've tried suit, but if feels like I have less leeway with suit
U get 2 sec recharge time for suit and 3 sec for lbv
On DW and below, other armours are fine but on DS you should only use suit
I dropped my Anarchist ictv build on dw for a simple armorer ictv build. I dont comprehend why you would ever want to use it on ds. If you Go for an ds ictv build, just use stoic...
The point of parlour aced was to get sneaky bastard as fast as posible
ye but in the process of trying to get sneaky bastard like that you end up wasting 4 points on inner pockets aced, and as mentioned in the video parkour aced is dangerous, a setup i like a bit more is duck and cover aced, parkour and inner pockets basic, and either dire need or shockproof aced, you would be using 1 more point but its better than losing 4 points on inner pockets aced, and you keep the reload sprint cancel
Sneaky bastard is a waste if you have to ace it to get max dodge

I agree that sneaky bastard is terrible, but the community thinks that the extra 10 dodge is worth it... It might be useful with some other dodge perk decks but not really rouge.
i dont think that the point investment is so horrible if you mange to get your detection to 4 for the basic version to be full benefit, but you really only go for sneaky bastard when you are going full on dodge, it doesnt matter what dodge deck you are using, but it is true that going full on dodge is just not too reliable

Seeing knowleys comment saying he'll take things like this on board in future is great, but it's pretty shitty in terms of work ethic or just simply in terms of integrity towards your own content not to do some research into the vast amount of information available for payday 2 before making a build for 1 such a large audience who will take it as gospel and 2 that will make higher difficulties more difficult than they need to be for players trying DS/DSOD and therefore putting them off the game entirely. Considering how much research knowley does for his "story of payday 2" videos that I'm a big fan of, made his lackluster build even more painful and then to call it "best build" is sheer fuck hubris.

BB is blitzkrieg bop, one of the perks for anarchist that is effected by the armor you are wearing.

Don’t use frenzy. It doesn’t help this build whatsoever as I explained in that one math part. It’s not useful for the weapons and isn’t useful for the tanking either.

Not exactly. Suit anarchist with a convert gets 241 armor and snipers do 240. As long as you play carefully around sniper spots, you do still have emergency armor and health since this doesn’t use frenzy.
In kknowley's stoic build, he doesn't take bullseye aced, which I'm fairly certain you can use that to get extra health back?
Nope, Bullseye does nothing with Stoic.

I have my mod list in the description of any of my gameplay based videos. Go to the diamond run I posted last week and it should all be there. The specific mod that does that is Additional PocoHud Modifiers.

The krinkov does beat the m60 in dps by miles, but it doesn’t have the ammo efficiency to stand alone without ammo bags. I did also want to keep the original build concept instead of just changing everything out.
@@CarrotIsBad I tried using this build will Brenner modded to 128 damage, because I don't have last weapon pack yet. Seems to work out fine, but not that accurate as M60

I hate how everyone labels builds with "best build" to trap new players. Even uncle geldgeil doesn't call his, "best muscle" or "best armorer" as I'm sure he knows there can be changes and it's all his preference, And he's AMAZING at the game. I'm glad b33croft stopped saying his were the best. I think he deleted my comment telling someone who struggled to go look at kevkild or uncle geldgeil for build advice lol.
Also KKowley's console build wasn't the "best" in anyway or form, I can confirm as a console player.

Anarcist is best with the light balistic vest becouse you have the same regen speed but MUCH MORE armour (70)
. On death sentence the suit (with anarchist) its still an 1 shot
suit is 2s, LBV is 3s, suit can provide wayyyyyyy better armor gating than LBV can and that extra armor regened from LBV is useless cause itll basically be gone in the next shot you take. anarchist is meant to be an armor gating deck
same with LBV, the 70 armor you get will still be 1 shot

Thats without a joker, with a joker you get 241 armor with suit and that is enough to tank a sniper, and even then, its rare ur gonna be at full armor with anarchist
