My SKoda Rapid has turn indicators. Does your Rapid also have turn indicators? I could not see you using it anytime.

Abhimanyu Jindal Wait for EcoSport and then make a choice. EcoSport can be more practical due to higher ground clearance and lower maintenance costs

Man, you should have used sports mode! It literally redlines in every gear.
BTW that sales guy was am idiot and misleading. DSG are of different types. DSG used in Rapid is DQ200, and max torque it can handle is 250NM, it is dry GB. I own one, but have to say this GB isn't reliable.
Also as you told there are different types of AT, following are the types :-
1. AMT
2. CVT
3. TC
4. DSG/DCT
Generally TC are more reliable but they give bad FE.
DSG/DCT are FTD but reliability is questionable.
CVT gives smoothest upshifts/downshifts but suffer from rubber band effect.
AMT is just a jugaad IMHO. Neither FTD nor reliability nor better FE. It just excels in cost benefit. Can be said as poor man's AT.

DSG specifically DQ200 is the most unreliable gearbox that Skoda could ever make.

I have pre facelift car...after update for dieselgate fix my mileage has gone down and pick up also reduce in D mode..
After update car makes noise like tractor..when i told company person he laugh and say to othrr guy costumer wants to reduce noise...if chutiyas can increase noise why cant they fix the same

This is a Czech car maker not german my friend and its a Torbo charge engine so the dsg gearbox work swiftly. this Dsg gearbox is made by Vw not skoda “rapid”. its a trade mark gearbox in all VW cars n they sell to all other companies like skoda n all ,so try all VW cars like polo tsi,gti or venti tsi or tdi auto they all will give you same excitement as rapid m.c 👌🏼... thanks for a good review though 👍🏼

Hi Milind! I am from Chandigarh and I have recently seen that you got a chance to drive both New Verna Automatic and Monte Carlo Automatic. I need some strong suggestions and advice. I know DSG is a better transmission but in long run I am also concerned about service costs and resale for which Verna seems to have an edge. Also, Verna will cost me more than a lakh cheaper. I am only planning to go for Diesel engine and Automatic. Could you please help me out on the transmission experience?
Milind Kwatra Thanks for the prompt response. The only thing that is holding me back right now is that for some silly reason Hyundai has not launched Verna Diesel Auto with SX+ Optional and only Petrol Auto is launched in top. So I will not get those new features like smart key, push button start, ventilated seats. Even my 5 years old Micra has push button and smart key. I am so used to it. :(

BLOG AUTHOR Ciaz mat lo bhai agar aapka honda city aur rapid ka budget hai. Ciaz aap dekhne gaya toh pasand ayega par city ya rapid dekhke fir ciaz dekhne gaye toh aapko kamiya lagegi. Ride ki baat kare toh ciaz slow speed mein city se jyada stiff lagta hai par high speed mein rapid jitna stable bhi nahi lagta.

good review.c segment is a larger market in india than d segment.in the important c segment quite clearly honda city petrol and rapid diesel dsg are more mature cars for pure driving pleasure where as the ciaz and verna are mass market pleasers without the actual mojo for driving pleasure.
Dsg ka maintenance high hota hai, maintains cost high hoti hai or milage low hota hai

Manish bhatnagar Honda city is an excellent car in its own. Rapid is the better driver's car. City is more towards space, comfort and luxury. Petrol engine of Honda city and diesel of rapid are more powerful and refined. Rapid has higher maintenance costs but better build quality.
Summary - Rapid is best for enthusiasts, city is good for everyone
