  • #Roobert33 I disassembled an electric motor of a washing machine and I only took the rotor and a simple magnet, it is also good a magnet of a speaker and paste it near the rotor.

    this 220 motors when run the current is serially connected with the stator and rotor, that means the 22o volt first goes through the stator then through the rotor and then again through the stator, this means a high voltage is given and speacially the stator consumes much of the voltage but the rotor needs less voltage if you can use a power ful magnet and place that near the rotor on four direction then the 220 volt motor will run on low voltage but with much higher speed and torque then the original, this motor wich is shown can be uased as a electric bike mottor after few small changes.

    @bodziobran Hi, what you see is the inside of a washing machine motor, but can also be the inside of a drill, always at 220V. Installed above 2 ball bearings. It does not need brushes, but also two pieces of wire will work fine. More close are the wires and lower will be the internal resistance of dynamo, thus increasing the speed

    I dream of seeing a combination of 2 experiments from your TH-cam channel, running the current through the ball bearings + into the copper rotor (the positive or negative wire goes into the first bearing, comes out through the second bearing and then makes contact with the rotor, then the other wire (positive or negative) makes the other contact of the rotor

    Ooops..capture the bearings with straps as if only a tiny bit of grit was to enter the bearing at speed the armature would be a projectile. I know it happened to me !!!! Also if you introduce another magnet on the other side of the armature at the same time you caan vary the speed etc., and do other interesting things, like putting an LED across the commutator when the armature is spinning down..generator??

    When people say that magnets don't provide free energy, I just want to ask, where is the power coming from in this video? 50% of the energy is coming from the magnet, and the other 50% is coming from electricity. Saying that magnets don't produce free energy is totally incorrect, because you could replace the stationary magnet in this video with an electromagnet, and you would have more than double the power consumption.

  • @dumyyyyyy

    Easy to implement but this is just for demonstration purpose only.This "motor" have power just to drive maximum a small propeller because of low efficiency(high distance between stator and rotor, only just one magnet used, no metallic cage, wrong angle for brushes ). But lets face-it: nice video! good for demonstration purpose! Thumbs up!

    Here's my theory: When the wires are closer together there is less material to travel through so less material means less resistance which means more amps. I have absolutely no idea if it's true but that's my first guess.

    It's like watching an 8yr old boy fooling around in his father's garage. This is an armature with windings for 120v. If you place an opposing magnet on the other side it will give you more than twice the torque. RPM usually remains the same. You are an adult and if you are fascinated by this then construct something more practical.

  • @diegocip
    @diegocip 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Its probably (it has at least) a "universal" motor, so it runs on AC and DC, as in the place of the magnet you put, it has an "electromagnet" as the stator. As you are taking low torque of it, major is the bearing and brushes contact, it will run on lower electric potential. Other things are that the resistence is less because the removed stator, and you change brushes position, so you can adjust the electrical resistence of the rotor and more complex things.

    just to add some education on this matter the part on wood board is not called a rotor but an armature a rotor is found in ac induction motors and car altanators the coil is called a stator and yes a car alternator is ac untill it is recterfied with diodes the a regulator ac induction ac into coil causes a vortex of magnetic waves that spin the rotor many made of steal n alumunum a car alternator has a pully on a shaft with 2 slip rings in rear that is a dc electro magnet no perm magnet

  • @QuaziGNRLNose
    @QuaziGNRLNose 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    an electromagnet generates heat in the process, and this heat would equal the added energy. A magnetic field is conservative, so regardless of whether its present in the regions of a permanent magnet or generated by a current, it will never give energy out for free. you'll always have to provide it for it to do something, its like a spring. when you compress a spring itll push back but unless you pushed it in the first place it wont be doing anything. a M,E,G etc field are the same.

    Crazy! Wow! How many coils does it have? Where did you find that motor? How are the coils connected to the commutator? I've seen in some motors each end of the coil is connected on the commuator on adjacent strips not opposite. Has that got anything to do with torque? And can you please explain how and why when you move the terminals of the power supply closer to each other on the commutator the torque increases? Awesome!

  • @smmmithhh
    @smmmithhh 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very impressive. But you seem to be deliberately bringing the leads too close together, so that you are shorting the battery with a single segment of the commutator - large green spark. Also, I don't recommend you just drop the battery leads on the table like that, and leave them, they need to be secured.

  • @inventhead
    @inventhead 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    cool idear however this is why carbon brush is used soo no to erode the copprt comutators off/burnt off metal once burnt off or shorted its good as dead whats going on in the comutator is it alternates the positive and negitive crateing a n s s n magnetic wave that makes it spin and ramp up to max speed good luck but do use the carbon brush before you kill it with wire

  •  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @voprais You look like you tried to run that motor in DC but you said that you used a variac - those work in AC only.
    In DC, the brushed motors could start spinning even at 2-3V ;)
    Try it yourself with a variac-less washing machine, vacuum cleaner or drill/mill motor.
    I tested (after servicing) big angled grinders at 12V to avoid killing my fuses or losing fingers :D

  • @MattOGormanSmith
    @MattOGormanSmith 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's likely because the coils wired to that part of the commutator are nearest to the magnet. a DC motor usually has 2 or more stator magnets arranged around the rotor (or coils are cheaper than magnets for an AC motor)

  • @usedbandage9

    It would turn faster, but current would also decrease. But it does allow you to use less windings in a motor and hence increase the current. But only changing the magnets, It uses less current.
