Alex is working the radio station at Leland (WLEL) doing a show called "Syncopated Money" and Lauren visits him. From the episode S06E19 The Blues Brother. I don't own Family Ties
Were radios actually live back then? I have been to a radio station, and they first record, then edit, then send on the air, so It's usually like a 10 second delay, especially since they have to sensor out the swearing. I wasn't born in the 80s, so I'm a bit confused here.
Radio was absolutely DJed live in the 80s. It wasn't until the mid 90s that computers began to take over. I DJed college radio for fun in the late 90s. Some college towns might still have live DJs (at least for part of the day), but I quit listening after I moved away, and after the world moved on…
Seems like a cool show Emily, I like a lot of the 80s stuff actually, don't you just find Fox's phone chime just really funny lol. Besides, I have this huge crush on Courtney Cox, I wish there were more Lauren vids on TH-cam. Actually, I might just get the show on Amazon, sometime. Nice talking, and remember, "Alex Keaton, he's so cute," :) lol!
Marty McFly and Monica Geller dating? Great Scott!
Omg, he really is so cute! All these years and he's still incomparable.
I totally agree with you!

"I have no views on music"
"there is a fee involved"
"time and place please"
I'd say thats good writing, but anybody whose met a musician....:)
Oh they ended up cutting the first scene before he introduces himself on radio. Splendid episode though. Brownie was on fire!
Michael J Fox is The G.O.A.T.
The Blues Brother (1987)
Too bad the writers didn’t put these together in the end.
Shame on Alex for not letting Lauren go out :( with the whole 3rd floor... ;)

Back in the 70's and 80's, the DJs were live. Took a tour of a radio station as a kid.
