I love seeing Alex more open and smiling. He's so closed off and behind his confidence he's extremely introverted. A stunning performance by Michael. Just stunning. Like his face, honestly.
I always thought the relationships of the siblings in this show were so real, Alex used to make fun of Mallory and they used to fight a lot but when Mallory was in trouble Alex was the first one to come to her rescue and when she was in trouble she would seek Alex out for advice it reminds a lot of my relationship with my sister....
@@perfectsplit5515 lol. glad she came out, old now, senior, so living her best life, she couldn't admit it before, LOVE THIS SHOW, glad its back on cable now.
“Steven Keaton is the best TV dad” While he was a good father overall, he was not perfect. His biggest flaw was to teach his son to be a spineless wussbag. In preschool, Andy made friends with a deaf kid. Other kids started harassing his friend over the disability. So Andy got fed up and started fighting them in order to stand up for his deaf friend. Daddy Steven caught him and condemned him, without even hearing his side of the story. Furthermore, Steven was a hypocrite to condemn his son for using violence, given the fact that he punched out Alex’s teacher Mr. Tedesco for making raunchy sexual comments about wifey Elyse. On this one issue, Al Bundy was actually a better father, because he always supported his son’s acts in standing up for himself to aggression.
Alex P. Keaton was 1 of TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Characters of all time - along with Fonzie, Mr. Spock, Xena, Louis DePalma, Barney Fife, Maxwell Smart, Colombo, and Jerry Seinfeld.
@jpx8793 There are unfortunately some Negative Nancys on these videos hating on him. That's only cuz MJF is a much better person than nobodies like them will ever be
I don't understand how someone so pompous and arrogant and always talking economics and politics could be so interesting and likeable! hahaha Alex P. Keaton carried this show.
Alex P. Keaton was the liberal producers' attempt to ridicule conservatives. He was sexist, chauvinistic, pompous, and obsessed with money. Ironically, all of that made him stand out so much and become such a great character.
@@perfectsplit5515 Yes, it had the opposite effect. I think that's kind of a limited way of looking at it, though. APK was inspired by their own kids that they couldn't relate to, so in a way, they humanized this thing that they either hated or didn't understand. Even as a kid, I realized that deep down Alex was a good guy. And the show did a fair bit of mocking of Steven and Elyse, too; I feel like they understood people better than current Hollywood does, and were poking fun at stereotypes more than anything else. And I really think that's what's wrong with modern sitcoms...most of them don't seem to understand that the stereotypes alone aren't funny, and when they mock the opposition viewpoint, you know there's no second dimension to it.

Jennifer: "People who have people are the happiest people in the world."
Alex: "People who have MONEY ... don't need people."
Hahahahaha!

Michael J. Fox as Alex is the Best. Alex Keaton was the best character ever on tv. Family ties I like 100%:better than the boring Cosby Show.

I think the kitchen from Family Ties is awesome❤ I would love a kitchen with a flat top grill🍔🥓
I remember Alex P. Keaton did AirBnB before AirBnB existed.
1:41 so Alex Keaton was already doing Airbnb in the 1980's, before the internet age.

What was Alex trying to say
I have to find out where he got that tiger!
I could use a few...dozen of those 😂
Alex totally made the series. Without him, it would've been just another stupid sitcom.

@@Goldnfoxx That's what made his character so likable - you knew that, deep down, he was a good guy.
8:09
He always finds himself in the wrong year and has to correct history.
I think that episode was a nod to his Back to the Future work.
I love the mighty mouse Jan scene at 7:50
Why did I never see this on UK TV ?
Tucker Carlson, in his youth. I love him.

It's from "Here we go again" Season 3 Episode 2. This is the episode where the family finds out that Elyse is pregnant with Andrew.
