I've been playing the PSP version with a patch that plays the original PS1 soundtrack, and hearing this song for the first time in proper context made me so happy.
Atlus needs to bring the PSP version to modern platforms with the PSOne soundtrack in tact or the ability to choose it. Because it is SO much better than the rearranged one Meguro-san did, he might be an amazing composer, but this was a swing and a miss that was so bad that I legit did not get the game because of how godawful it was.

Kenichi Tsuchiya is very special at Atlus, shame he doesn't compose more themes. Meguro and him joined Atlus simultaneously. But I guess Persona doesn't want to be this dark and old school anymore since P3. Kouji Okada was the director and Kaneko created the art direction. Persona was created by both Okada and Kaneko.

I do understand the localization team though. It might have been hard (or they thought it was hard, because there wasn't much testing before.) To market a game taking place fully in Japan into the US. So I do understand some of their choices. And this image is pretty funny
God I hope they bring the PSP remake to modern platforms but allow us to switch between the original and arranged soundtracks. The remake's boss battle theme and battle themes in general do not hold a candle to this. Seriously, you just want to wail on some bad guys when this is cranking in the background. The other one just makes you want to sleep.
Problem is that the PSP version's ost is set up very differently. It has way less tracks and lacks nuances the original had (specifically the battle music seamlessly looping and ending at any time, as well as the portion of the boss theme that only plays before you start the fight).

I still don’t understand why in the first release of Persona 1 on PS 1 ,know as Revelation Persona they Change Masao Inaba, in Mark, well him wasn’t the only character change name or design for example Elly or Ellen she only change color of Hair, Eyes and Foulard not create a new character from the old one. But the Funny thing is the Remastered of Persona 1 on PSP on 2009 every character return on his original Design even then names.
Persona 1 was the first megami tensei game to ever release in the west -besides Jack Bros- , and they likely felt they needed to change the game if it were to appeal to an western audience. Honestly could have worked if the english translation wasn't so hilariously bad.

Where the story takes place isnt vital at all. The problem is that the entire localization was hilariously bad and downright lazy. Pretty apparent that the devs gave very little mind towards getting this localization together and it horribly suffered as a result. In regards to the baseball cap thing, its not entirely out of the ordinary for someone to wear a baseball cap without being a fan of baseball. Also I think a localization mishap that best puts things in perspective is the the monkey thing. On the chance you or maybe someone else reading this hasn't played the game, there's a little bit of a running joke where Nanjo calls Mark a monkey due to his round head and big ears making him resemble one. In Revelations Persona they uh...left in the joke despite Mark being black now and as such making Nate sound like a racist.
They made him a black guy for the group to be more inclusive. That was genuinely the reason, and since the setting was moved to America and all the cast made westerners, it makes sense that they would add a black character

On the chance you or maybe someone else reading this hasn't played the game, there's a little bit of a running joke where Nanjo calls Mark a monkey due to his round head and big ears making him resemble one. In Revelations Persona they uh...left in the joke despite Mark being black now and as such making Nate sound like a racist.

They made him a black guy for the group to be more inclusive. That was genuinely the reason, and since the setting was moved to America and all the cast made westerners, it makes sense that they would add a black character
