@@MooniiTVLet Butterflies Spread Until The Dawn only plays in the overworld and the Alt. School when it gets invaded by demons + when the door to the Avidya World is opened. Meanwhile A Lone Prayer is the battle theme in a game where battles occur every 5-20 steps

I pretty much understand the hating of original fans, but outside of that, all of these song are bangers - really awesome. Shoji Meguro is for sure the best composer
They're great, if a little "cheap" in the sense of how short the loops are. It's just they doesn't suit the gameplay speed and mood very well. With a proper remake, these tracks could really shine.
@@JurarigoThere is also the fact that number of tracks in PSP version is like half in PS1. The fact that awakening theme isn't in PSP version is honestly a crime.
@@pmintertek Yeah, that too. Meguro felt that his work on Persona 1 wasn't good, but it looks like he didn't know why it wasn't good, and what needed change, and on top of that they didn't have enough resources for creating a new complete OST, hence the heavily reused short themes.
Classic persona drums always going hard
One of the ways you can tell the quality of a composer is how they implement drums and other background instruments in their music. Shoji Meguro does not skimp out on that department- some of his standout tracks are the original and movie version of Unavoidable battle for those sick drums, and Life Goes On for some groovy bass guitar.

@kaiuscidgaming4105 if you haven't heard his work on SMT3, DDS1/2, and SJ you really should, the first few are immediately recognizable to his P3 sound and then SJ is fascinating as a complete departure from his usual style, you'd never guess it was him if he was uncredited
The fill at the beginning of the chorus of “Butterfly’s till dawn” is unforgivable. Dude had no absolutely business going that hard but did it anyway smh.
@@Pwrplus5 I would add that the Raidou Kuzunoha soundtracks also have a good amount of that Persona 3 sound to them as they were composed around the same time.
Yumi Kawamura's voice is so perfect. Both as lead and background. Her voice can be powerful or gentle/cute.

@@robertvalenica8999I wouldn't say the lyrics are weird. Every single lyric for every song in the game is designed to reinforce it's central theme. Really great to be honest. That said the themes of this game as well as the songs are very doomer indeed.
Not really, look man the soundtrack really encapsulates many generations at the same time. It has that 2000's sound, the depressing lyrics with cheery music that was very popular in the 80's and a distinct late 90's inspired instrumentalization. So it's not really a one generation thing. It's for everyone basically.
