- The owner and broker of The Oppenheim Group addresses speculation that ‘Selling Sunset’ is fake after Chrissy Teigen and the casts of Bravo’s ‘Million Dollar Listing’ franchise raised concerns about whether the stars of the Netflix hit are actual, working realtors in Los Angeles. Plus, he fires back at a now-viral TikTok video that claims to prove the series is fully staged, defends “villains” Davina Portratz and Christine Quinn’s reputations and shares season 4 updates. The first three seasons of ‘Selling Sunset’ are now streaming on Netflix.

The fact Davina is divorced and attacked someone who went through a horrific divorce is concerning to me. She had no remorse and only apologized because she had to…she’s not only good at throwing low blows but she’s very vindictive. No one likes her and doesn’t give the show anything positive to talk about. Not sure what her purpose is besides spilling venom.
Jason seems like a really good guy. This interview made me like him even more.

I think it's important to understand that this is LA. If you are super rich in LA, you lead a different lifestyle than most normal people. Women like Christine hunting for rich husbands and throwing insane parties with no budget limits is not of out of the ordinary in California :O)
Another point that leads me to believe a lot of this is non-staged: They super rarely show the actual buyers of these houses because billionaires and multi-millionaires tend to be very protective about their privacy.

Davina is "professional "? If I saw this show, I'd never hire her or want her to show my house. Professionalism at their level of being in the field doesn't just apply when they're in front of the client, it's also how they represent themselves and the business in personal time. Teachers can be fired from districts if they're caught bullying someone online, and they're by no means in the public eye the way these girls are....she's just a gross person.

Selling Sunset is interesting for sure! Some of it appears scripted, however it still manages to pull the viewers in. Like it or not, they’re doing something right.

I am a huge fan of the show. We all know that "reality" shows are sometimes staged; but who cares. It's entertaining. I like Jason, he seems to be authentic and honest. I hope we get another season.

The producer is the same guy who produced the Hills....& remember how 10 years later we learned that show was scripted? 🤔 Either way, love Selling Sunset, scripted or not!
Mary married Romain months before the show started filming 😂 I do think some parts are real though like Davina saying those terrible thing to chrishell at the wedding even though the producers probably persuaded her to say it

Jason is a nice person but Davina is REALLY mean. In the 1st season she set Chrishell up and turn the other girls against her, and make Christine her weapon. Romain is definitely right about her.

I can't believe how mean Davina is, honestly. After she thought Chrishell said she was homeless in the past for a "sympathy vote," I've not liked her. And also saying she heard Chrishell was only homeless for a week... really upsetting. She has no idea what a day of homelessness can do to a child. I hope she grows from how her words hurt and learns. 😔😔

I like all of them . They all have different personalities and different approach. That does not make them bad. If they all were nice and sweet all the Time and acted the same, the show would have never made it passed season 1 .

So, if I understand correctly, this is the realest reality show of all reality shows ever? Come on. I'm (still) not convinced. AT ALL. All reality shows are so-called "scripted reality" and it's highly unlikely that all of these beautiful and talented women/models sell real estate as a working "Oppenhein Group" realtors because everything looks like most of them are actors "hired" in a role of realtors while the show focuses mostly on their personal lives. The storylines are about love and relationships and the show is not primarily (or not at all?) focused on real estate. Audience can always smell when someone tries to fake something in a show. And where there's smoke - there's usually a fire. Because it's like "The Bachelorette" (slightly) meets "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles". That said, I'm a huge fan of "Selling Sunset" as an entertaining show because it's extremely well done and every episode pushes you to invest your time in the next one. But to think that (this or any other reality) show is something more than frivolous entertainment and take its storylines as pure reality and all of these gorgeous women as real working realtors...puh-lease. It doesn't mean that it's impossible. But it's just...not believable. Just my opinion.
I don’t believe every piece of drama in the show is real but all the ladies are registered real estate agents in California. Do I think that any of them are actresses pretending to be realtors? No, but I believe some of the drama is definitely scripted.

I was hoping it was staged because I couldn't stand Christine. I went half way through the 1st episode of season 1 then turned it off because Christine was so toxic. I wanted to see the listings not their drama.

The show is, admittedly, very entertaining; however, most of those girls need to visit a psychiatrist. They are mean girls, scratching and clawing their way to the top, vying for a piece of the American pie at any cost! For Vanessa to be the new kid on the block, she certainly is a pot stirrer and a tale carrier. So much drama!

Ok I don’t think Davina is misunderstood. The sad thing is that I wanted to like her so much. Every season she show a reason to not like her.
Season 1: She emasculated Romain and disrespected the way he bought a fake diamond. There’s a difference between being direct and being blunt and rude. Then she took Chrishell asking questions and brought it back to sound like she was talking shit and then Christine lashes out at her and then Davina made fun of her.
Season 2: I did not one see her apologize to Mary and Romain for last season but she put too much emphasis on how she felt about being the last to know that she was uninvited. She doesn’t care about how she made the too people feel and what led to her getting uninvited.
Season 3: Christine’s wedding. And her getting too involved with Chrishell’s divorce story. First of all, What loyalty does Davina owe Chrishell? NONE at ALL! So why does she care so much about both sides when she hardly knows either person. She met Justin once but knew Chrishell for 2.5 years. They don’t have a friendship at all. So I wouldn’t really expect Davina to support Chrishell unconditionally but why care so much about Justin’s side.
Hopefully Season 4 is her redemption. That felt good to get out. I’m just calling it how I see it.

Because when she told Christine “it’s not my fight, I’m not getting involved, this has nothing to do with me” I got up out of my seat and yelled at the top of my lungs “finally thank you”. She decided that she’s going to mind her business and keep her mouth shut. I got to see a side of her of her actually selling a home seeing her apologize for Chrishell and understanding that it’s going to take baby steps for her to work her way back in A good place with everybody. So yeah she’s cool but she better not fuck it up. Thank you for asking hope your life is great!
