Thank you! I just learned today that black onyx had streaks of white. I ordered natural black onyx, wrote the dealing, and told them it had white on it and I did not believe it was onyx. If you beads bought as "onyx/agate/etc". Check the drill holes drilled beads hace a straight hole, while glass beads have a small indentation that was used to mark where to drill the holes.
And finally, rub the edge of a knife on one. If it peels its fake.

Hi, it is around 40 mm or a little less than 2 inches. I’m not sure if we will ever be able to find any more to make but they are sardonyx stones :)

My onyx doesn't have the white strips you mentioned. I was told they are polished.
If it is real onyx it is possible that you got only the black part. Or it could be dyed. Sometimes it’s very hard to see the white if they dye the story. And onyx is often dyed to deepen the black color. 😀

Manuela, Onyx is a variety of Agate that shows black and white banding. The banding is formed in parallel layers. Most of the other types of onyx you find marketed as onyx is usually calcite or aragonite.

Sulemani Hakik is an Agate. If it's a Black and white banded Agate, then it will be considered Onyx.
Does onyx help with radiation
People do use black crystals against emf and radiation, but we have not ourselves so you will have to experiment. Or maybe some other viewers can relate their experience.
