- Hey everyone!
Between going to college and having a full time job in my field of study it's been really hard to get this one out. it's about 2 months late form whe I filmed it and I hope you all can understand the delay. I am still going to be making content, and I am definitely not going to stop letting you guys know how much y'all mean to me and what you have done for me on this channel. I will still be responding to your comments and of course helping in anyway possible!
Anyway, in today's video we give a review of the Mitsubishi mirage 30k miles later! I am very happy to say nothing major and definitely not that many headaches! still drives like new! Hope you all enjoy!

This car is under appreciated. They can look amazing with a few mods. Cheap doesn't mean badly made.
Everything you said and more
5 speed is the secret to longevity. My Mirage has over 200,000 and it runs perfectly. Great car, like your window tint.
20 in the back 35 in the front
Manuals are the best transmissions for longevity. My VW GTI is 21 years old, and runs perfect!
I love my manuals, makes this car feel so good
They grow up so fast 😢🎉 congrats on 30k 🤘
Thank you! I am actually at 40k now. This video is a little late because of work and school, but I am working on getting more out soon!
Oh bro. Almost forgot. Just made it to 70k km. If you notice poor fuel consumption. It will most likely be a faulty o2 sensor. If it comes up. Just do both of them hehe. I did the upstream. And two weeks later the downstream went also hehe. Also the squeeking. 9 times out of 10 it's the ac pully. Common on the 2012/2016 models. But I believe the changed the ac comp on the newer models. Sorry for the many comments. Love your enthusiasm for the spaces star. Just try help a brother out :)😊
When I changed my wheels it fixed the issue, the other wheels where SOOO heavy. Thank you for the advice I will make sure to remember for the future if I ever suspect this issue.
@@mitsubishimadman7321 all good bro. Subd. Look forward to the next video :)
Your voice is so relaxing😘
the back seat of your car is amazing bae
Cool video. I have a ‘23 Mirage ES for 5 months now & love it so far.
It will keep you and your pockets happy
beautiful ride , its got me thinking how to add the aero kit to my 2018 mirage lol. glad to see you going strong a year later!
Yes this car is a beast! So many dirt roads, handbrake drifts, high RPM driving, and of course burnouts in the rain! Couldn't ask for a better car! And it gets 40+ MPG HIGHWAY!
We bought it almost at the same time and mine only has 7,000 miles.
I love driving my mirage!
I'm impressed that a young guy can still drive a manual transmission
The best way to drive

i like your attention to detail-thanks for sharing
Those are really nice wheels man. Look awesome with the black mirage :) I've got the 2012 model here in Thailand. Are they 14? Crap sorry i jumped the gun hehe. Just made it to the end of the video 😊
I love your crocs
I have the same thing with my brakes. But other than that love the car! It’s the only vehicle I have felt comfortable enough to parallel park in.
Yeah, I am hoping it goes away after I do a pad change, it's gotten quieter but is still there. I don't feel it I just hear it so I guess it can't be that severe.
Great Videos, been following for a while. For the brakes I did take my 2022 and 2023 in to have them checked out and was told that it was normal as floating pads and they are designed to move a little and the noise is from that in conjunction with the ABS. This being said I am too looking at replacing the pads on my 2023. I also have been looking at slot and drilled on the rotors as you did on your previous but still not 100% on that one due to the fact that I use mine for a 174 daily commute and only 30 of those miles are in city. Let me know your thoughts on that please. : )@@mitsubishimadman7321
Brakes squeaking:
Upgrade your rotor and brake pads.
It will all go away.
Squeaking during idle:
It happens due to the engine bracket.
Its annoying.
Tapping exhaust:
Upgrade to an aftermarket one.
Creaking on door panels:
Its a cheap model car so expect those.
I own a 2015 Mirage HB GLS and its still running for 9 years even when I heavily modded it already. Fuel consumption is at 14L/100km city, 20L/100km highway.
Thank you! Will definitely be looking further into this, got any recommendations for brakes/pads

Akebono for daily
Brembo for that extra grip
I drive always spiritedly so i use Brembo.
No need to get those brake caliper covers. They will just increase the heat accumulation so best have those calipers open.
You may want to invest in a slotted brake rotor which I had also installed in my ride.
Great video.. i have one in the UK
Greetings from America
Greetings,
As always another fantastic detailed video 🇺🇸🍾🎉🇺🇸
Would you provide me with the link to purchase the red stripes all around the car.
Thank you so much for assisting me, keep producing more videos
You can see them all over Amazon and AliExpress
So running Amsoil in mine seems to make the engine run smother (my opinion not sponsored) when I first got both of the Mirages I have (2022 SE and 2023 LE) I noticed a tapping noise when in idle. I swapped out oil to Amsoil 0-20 OE and added the upper cylinder fuel additive (essentially touch of oil and cleaners) and noticed a significant smother engine and tap has gone away from the low RPM. Not sure if that helps in your case but figured worth mentioning. 😁
I go to the dealership and what they use is a bulk 0w20 oil, works fine and is cheaper than doing it myself. Thank you for your comment and I am glad that solved your issues!
True. I have a 22 Mirage, and I did Amsoil oil, Amsoil filter, and a K&N drop in filter. I also used some Liqui Moly cylinder lubricant. I reset my trip, and I'm now at 47.9 mpg, and the engine runs butter smooth.
Hey can you help me out, Im looking to find out how the engine has changed over the model years. I know it's not fast but I can't find which years they did it last update. The Mirage did get a few horses in the later models. Just trying to see if it was before or after the front end redesign.
The engine changed in 2017, they updated fuel mapping and I believe they used a different exhaust cam profile and it netted a little better power and fuel economy
Great review! With your wheel combo do you have any rubbing issues with passengers at the rear, or do you needed to roll your fenders? Also whats your opinion on the UR rear sway bar?
Rear sway bar has been a HUGE help in handling, I have separate video just about that coming out to review it after 10k miles, let me just say in fast corners on stock suspension it likes to lift off oversteer now😂
Wheels specs are 195/50/15 with a 40mm offset and the tires do not rub in any situation except for when you overload the rear and it bottoms all the way out.
@@mitsubishimadman7321 Thank you for your in depth reply on your wheel specs and opinion of the sway bar.
Cant wait to see your separate video about the sway bar.
Nice! I don't plan to add it to mine, as it handles perfectly fine to me. But it is nice knowing it's upgradable.@@mitsubishimadman7321
Do you mind if I ask, how does the heat hold up in the winter pulling from that small engine? Does it struggle to keep you warm at all?
Heat is amazing, takes a little longer than usual to heat up than a bigger engine, but it definitely stays hot!
I have a 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage I got my car almost a month ago, 9/27/2023.
So far, I have averaged 45.8 MPG over the whole 2,093 miles. On the freeway I average 55 MPG. In the city (Los Angeles) I average 30. (A lot of stopping). And in smaller towns I average mid 40's.
So far, the car has been amazing! I want to get some red vents for the left, and right vent, instead of the black ones you got. And an arm rest, or center console. Do you have any suggestions on where to get those?
Center console can be found on Amazon, the vent color is only through Mitsubishi parts dealer, so I would say go to the dealership for those
Glad to hear that I just got a Mirage LE 2024 yesterday 11/15 and barely got 42 miles ran on it 😂 for the armrest the LE front driver seat has it 🤔 so maybe try to find one or maybe from a 2023.
I notice you got the Rockford Fosgate. Very nice. How did you get it installed and how much of the difference does it produce?
I had a 2019 with stock system, and when I got my 2022 I optioned my car from factory with the fosgate system. Let me just say it's the most bang for your buck when it comes to this car! The subs in this thing shake the seats and it's WAY louder than stock. Definitely worth it! I recommend this for everyone!
@@mitsubishimadman7321 Even for someone who doesn’t like base? Because i do not like base honestly. I asked the dealership that has one in the Mirage if it worth getting one and they said yes without further explanation of my case. As a result, i didn’t believe them but now after reading your comment. idk. What do you think?
You can always turn the bass down in settings and it can be louder if needed
@@edgaryzen4925 base. 😂 bass.
You north amercans. Sure do give me a chuckle sometimes.
Great. Video. Muy macho
No hay problema, ¡gracias por apoyarme! ¡Espero que hayas disfrutado!
I just got 18k miles in 3 years of having my 2019 SE. I wish i could get more HP for the car though. Acceleration is always a issue if i have to many people in my car lol
You got CVT? In the 5 speed with it full with all 5 seat loaded, you do notice a difference, but it can still get to highway speed and keep it pretty good. I haven't owned the CVT
I hear you. Cruise control always help get it up and going WITHOUT completely sacrificing fuel economy.
Example: the minimum mph for CC to work is 25. Once it set, the ECU can easily resume accelerating to whatever targeted mph while maintaining optimal fuel economy in fact the ECON indicator remains on the dashboard. Better than having to floor the gas pedal which comes counterproductive, at least for me
@@mitsubishimadman7321 yeah I have the CVT lol
@@edgaryzen4925 will need to try this out lol
I have the CVT, and I find the car has plenty of power. Even with 3 people and a bunch of stuff in the car with the AC on, I find 3,000 RPM is good to get on the freeway. I get to about 50-55 MPH at the end of the on ramps like that. I also use cruise control, as I don't like having to use the gas pedal. I find it helps my MPG as well.
Any videos coming up on the 30k mile maintenance such as brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant etc? I have a red 2022 and digging your upgrades.
I'm doing a 60k update here soon, I will be doing a check and tutorials on what to look for and how to do your own at home maintenance, before going to a shop and paying the crazy prices.
Thats a lot of driving
Is your body kit aftermarket? Link from where you bought it.
It factory
Mine has just over 6,000 miles/10,000 kilometres
Congratulations! Many more adventures to go on in yours!
You need clean your camera lens it look dirty foggy
Thanks 👍🏻
My insurance doubled for safety reasons;(
That's sad
Safety issues??? Is this car unsafe??? 😢
@@1DonFF according to USAA most dangerous in America. I guess the reason but I believe because no longer making.
Why do you sound like a game show host?
Why you coming for him?
I mostly just have my voice be as inviting and passionate as possible. It also helps me keep my speech steady and slower, as I have a tendency to talk fast.
@@mitsubishimadman7321 it’s your fake voice😭😂😂
I’m thinking of getting this car .:) nice upgrade makes the car looks so much better .
Thank you, trust me there's plenty more coming very soon!
How about hyper flashing on turn signals? How you overcome that...
Resistor is built into the bulb
I have a 2020 Mirage G4, and it seems like the brakes are the most irritating part of the car for me. It's been incredibly reliable for 35K miles and the weightier sedan has a balanced driving feel for such a small car. But I definitely think the brake systems on these Mirages could have a better build quality.
Agreed very inconsistent
2015 here. Bought new. Car has 60k miles now. Live in the Midwest. Keep it outside but clean it regularly. Rotors and calipers rusted bad and had to be replaced last year. Bottom of the doors and rear quarters are now starting to rust. No other problems though. I bought it as a back/emergency car for the family. But yes... build quality is definitely bare bones 😂
