@@harryvpn1462 I mean there's no gacha with the TCG so it's totally fair game. They even put the last minute change to Kenki in the patch notes. Nerfing things in this game is good, no one wants to load up to fight nothing but Ayaka OTK.
As a long time mtg player with a few professional tournaments under my belt, this is what in TCGs you call a combo deck. And it’s actually quite good, it’s solid theorycrafting. Obviously every deck archetype has one or two archetypes it’s weak against. Usually Combo decks are very weak against control decks, but in general sounds like a very good idea! Your brain always amazes me. In general it would be good if you could get some delving/fishing cards in your deck to go search for the cards you need, and some disruption/control cards to protect your combo from being destroyed by a control deck, but I’m honestly not knowledgeable on genius invocation to know if that is even possible in this game. Thanks for sharing this, I honestly had the idea that the genshin tcg was more a mini game than a serious card game, but this shows the game has a lot of potential.
the only tutors we have are NRE for minty meat rolls, and we have no disruption protection. the main form of disruption in this game is forced character swaps, which you can usually circumvent by making fast speed swaps.
@@irium_pls im currently running mirror maiden control. With kaeya, ayaka, and mirror maiden. Mirror maden skill add 1 to switch cost and when you freeze enemy they always wanna switch but with higher cost.
Welcome to card games, where in this type, you don't need 4 players (3 friends), and maybe few other reasons that makes it more fun. Be careful not to get addicted though! 😅 Check out "Slay the spire", and you may find this genre to your liking.
Everything he does, people follow blindly. You could argue this ayaimiya deck has weaknesses, 2 liu su and 2 send off is quite bricky. Zajef's entire mindset is on aggressive mulliganning, which is a valid way to play (very popular in Magic The Gathering), but it's not consistent.
I will be honest, its kind of bizzare that almost all of the effects in this game are based on usage that can get spent or effects that only happen once per turn, but it just so happens that Yoimia's burst, Gambler's and minty roll meat are effects that can trigger permanently. Like there are 3 die weapons that are supposed to be based on 5* weapons who's only bonus effect is "deal 1 more damage on 1 NA this round". Same for artifacts where it reduces the cost of die once per turn, meanwhile Minty rolls have their effect happen until the end of the round....
Keqing, Ganyu, and Jean with a whole bunch of switching cards has been really powerful for me. Spread with both ganyu charge shots and superconduct and sometimes swirl with Jean just shred through all opponents at once
Freeze and Anemo Control have a good time against Ayamiya. But the nature of early TCGs is that control decks tend to have lower usage rates and higher winrates because they're harder to play compared to more straightforward combo decks.
I also played a yoimiya otk deck variant for a pretty good while early on but when i made my freeze jean deck, i realized having more decisions on a turn feel more rewarding than pulling off a very common combo (but when they play an early katheryne, anemo control is really hard to play)
the saddest part abouut tcg is that fridge is useless (you can apply both dendro and cryo but you can only react with one of those with a single attack)

TCG is so fun, the reaction sistem are the cherry on top of the gameplay, big W for the endgame (even if is not what we want). Also mr Zajef, planning on making more guides like this? love to see collei decks and chongyun too
Nah this is a big L for endgame, since basically everyone signed up for a combat game, not a card game and the time spent developing this could have been used to make a more entertaining endgame around the initial premise of you know combat... Card game is fun and what not, but it doesn't replace the lack of endgame for the actual genshin game.
Adding to what the person above me said, this isn't even gonna be endgame. Much like the Serenitea Pot, it'll be fun for a little while and once the meta gets solved and it's just the same two decks rotating over and over, everyone will move on. I doubt Hoyoverse will be investing a lot of resources into pushing out new cards regularly. That and the game still lacks disruption options.
Thanks for this! As someone who is new to card games in general, you really made me enjoy the genshin tcg! Something to keep in mind is that you can do a lot in a turn. A turn 3 OTK sounds super strong, but with the amount of asterisks applied to it, I'd say it's pretty good, but not overpowered in any sense. First off, Minty Meat Rolls is a huge part of the deck. Assuming you're trying to hit this card on turn 3 or earlier (which means you're able to look through 9 cards by then, 14 if you full mulligan,) it is a 100*(1-(28/30)^9)% (or 100*(1-(28/30)^14)%,) giving you roughly a 46% and 61% chance respectively. This, of course, doesn't account for you playing Strategy (Pot of Greed moment) which could bump that up to looking through 16 cards (67%.) It's not bad chances by any means, but you also will probably need Gambler's Earrings, which drastically lowers the percentage from a measly 21% (9 cards) to a doable 45% (16 cards.) Either way, while you don't need to get Gambler's Earrings, it's pretty difficult to pull off without a few lucky pulls. This doesn't mention counterplay, of course, but I probably wouldn't be able to name the ones that would affect this deck the most.
@@ftoast289 No, NRE has 2 effects. First it tutors up a random food - you are 50% to get the meat rolls. 2nd when you play that food you'll get another from your deck. Even with the worst rng you will play NRE -> play chicken -> tutor chicken. Next turn play chicken -> tutor meat roll. You can do this with any zero cost food, I'd say this is the best tho
So thats why I was facing so many of these. I happen to be running a sucrose deck so I always beat it but I imagine my quick swap deck would be fine too just stop Ayaka from triggering gamblers with fast swaps and kill her. The deck falls apart after that (or probably more likely the players dont know what to do).
I have a pretty consistant deck. It is Diluc hypercarry with Kaeya and Bennet. I think it adapts to every situation because the cards are synergistic with all characters not only Diluc. With Ellin you spam skills on Diluc but if he dies, you can heal with Kaeya habilities + melt, and if he dies then it comes to Bennet whos also gonna heal himself while melting. The key cards are Ellin and the favonius one that heals u at the end. Also Diluc and Kaeya constellation cards. Usually they die with WGS in 2 skills though. No content creator has discovered it yet i think.
Unless you're playing against Ganyu, Yoimiya + Xingqiu is SUPER fun to execute. The highest damage I've gotten with this is 14 with one Yoi auto - absolutely insane. And this DIDN'T include the empowered auto from Mona's burst (I usually run Mona in this cause of the healing cards from resonance - cause your Yoi takes a while to come online and you can just die to aoe decks or one shot decks). Also - yes, there's interest for TCG. Loved this video and would really enjoy more!
This deck is really really good, but holy. I play the underrated mono-geo deck with Noelle, Ningguang, and Mona and i consistently beat melt teams 8/10 times
I wonder what if instead of attacking ayaka team in turn 3 , we also just move character around . Worst case , one of our character will die . But ayaka team’s win condition which is yoimiya ult will also gone next turn . Then Noel can just tank and heal back up while killing them all .
Based. Heartily agree that in Ayamiya matchup, die count matters the most and a lot of the time you want to slow swap. Changing Shifts really good for slow swap plays, Katheryn is very questionable outside of freeze perhaps.
Instructor's is another artifact option you can go for in case your luck doesn't get you the Gambler's artifact. It's a +1 dice in the otk turn, and it could be used on an earlier turn.
Oh zajeff you magnificent gamer... I WILL blindly trust you for the tcg because your track record of genshin character reviews has shown you base your opinions on testing and not on making a (insert new character here) IS THE TOP TIER BUILD NEXT BROKEN T0 MUST ROLL??? video for literally every single new character like 95% of genshin channels do.
Maybe it's just me preferring quicken team (fischl/collei/keqing) and freeze team (kaeya/ayaka/mona) on PvP because frankly speaking, this team specifically always had a hard time to come back against control based teams.
I think this team can help pp who doesn't like playing tcg but want the rewards to clear npc contents very fast tho . Be able to consistently end battle each 3-4 turn with npc is very nice . So bad they will nerf yomiya in next patch
I personally also found cards like dawn winery and changing shifts to be really good in yoimiya ayaka otk as the cards let you stall turns so that your opponent runs out of turns first and you are just able to normal attack spam without being vulnerable
I didnt think I would like playing the TCG, I wasnt even excited when it was announced and now I have been playing it more then genshin I even let my resin stay at 160 so I can play more TCG
I'm going to try this soon🤭. I couldn't find a use for Paimon's card (3 cost version), and it often felt like a waste especially if it came late. The most effective team for me, so far, was Noelle + Pyro Agent, and I called it "UngaBungaMaid" 🤣 But I like seeing that I'm not the only one who wanted to exploit that specific food. No nerf plz!
My coop enemies have been caught off guard by one turn clutch. This is so good for coop. The difference on my deck is the 2 Pcs exile artifact. I only change two cards. I removed 1 PC's changing shifts and 1 PC's hutao card and exchange it to 2 Pcs exile artifact
In my opinion, a deck is op right now if its player can fully understand it and utilize its opportunities. I'm looking forward to see how the meta change in the next few months.
I've seen this team in the wild, and a quicken team with Keqing and collei (+electro, I use fischl) is often aggressive enough to kill this team. Particularly if you use resonance cards.
What order do you put the units in? Still learning all of this and ironically its my favorite overworld team. Except that I run with Keq/Yae, Nahida, Fischl, and either Kaz Or Zhongli
Contrary to people asking for nerfs, I feel the game's oddly balanced. Yeah Ayamiya is amazing. But Ganyu is amazing. And then Collei teams rank on tournaments. Keqing rocks and entertained me with opponent ragequits. Noelle excaliburs and sweeps like Ayaka. I can see the game being more of a rock paper scissors of decks with a sprinkle of rng in the near future, especially when most of us won't play this like it's a lifechanging tournament.
Ok help lol. I have most of the units available and just got Noelle and Nin last night. What Noelle team is super strong and what order should they be in? Also does the Collei team consist of Keq, Collei, Fischl? Who do you use with Ganyu? Sorry so many questions. Im learning and trying out different teams. Its hard to learn what rotations to use and with what cards
@@femmenic 1. If you are struggling, there is a high chance the characters are not to blame but the support cards. I wouldn't feel comfy just saying stuff like "Noelle Xingqiu Nin/Geochurl gud" because of that. Same for Ganyu. I could say "Ganyu Mona Keqing" but that alone wouldn't help and isn't the only Ganyu team out there. (And yep, what you mentioned is the typical Collei team) 2. Then what support cards? Tbh, this won't be enough without knowing when to use them. Understanding the card alone wasn't enough in my experience. Knowing the whole deck did. If I learned 4 each match from my own research and play, I learned like 15 by following tutorials just because those crazy dudes plan like 5 steps ahead or something and you slowly learn how that happens. 3. Making your own unique team deck comes after you get win streaks from those people's decks as you slowly learn what makes what card shine. Find one that instructs every single detail first. I'm sure some great person in the internet discussed a Noelle team with EXTREME detail and love. I've seen tons of "meta" teams that people cry for nerfs who ragequited against my deck. Not sure if I could get data somehow but it rlly feels like an 85~90% win rate. I don't think I turned out to be the ultimate prodigy or somehow discovered a hidden gamebreaking deck. Tbh, its most likely there r tons of opponents who just heard "X Y Z teams r op" and blindly played. Finally, if you already tried and failed to learn a Noelle team, this is what recommend: 1. Find the easiest to learn and high winrate team you ever seen. (I could teach you what I used in detail if you struggle with this as well. -> 2. Win a lot with it until you get bored and slowly change card by card as you win -> 3. See how the deck one day becomes your own thing with your fav characters.
16:45 I don't think you realized, but you edited out the bread and butter of this strategy, which is Yoimiya's burst hitting the enemies after Ayaka's hit
I love how Genius Invocation turned a bunch of disliked characters (i.e. Paimon, Timmie, arguably Yoimiya) into strong cards that are staples of many decks
I can't belive I was using this deck before this video but I wasn't using NRE which made it less consistent for round 3 and I had to go round 4 with ayaka dead Thanks Zajeff for optimising it for me also I was using yoimiya skill and then normals to burst I realised really late that normals give energy too (tho didn't come to know that here)
Food decks are best imo in ways because in this game with a food deck of at least 7 or 8 food cards and XRE support food card you can draw your whole deck and get to your good character and support cards like Paimon and Liben more easily as well. Also you can gain a mana crystal with the other food support dude. You will also get to wolf's gravestone which is super strong for Claymore characters as well. I wish I recorded it because I absolutely destroyed some1 with Diluc once who had a near 10hp character and two 8hp characters in one turn because of Liben and paimon going off the previous turn. Food decks let you set up massive turns more easily. Also you don't lose for drawing your whole decks and food cards you don't end up using help u convert to element crystal mana you need!
I use xingqu, yoimiya and ayaka Xingqu burst yoimiya skill and normal attacks and than her burst switch to ayaka and normal attack and burst Insane combo

Sucks that this deck has metastasised in the PvP meta already. Mirror matches for days. Ayamiya can be countered somewhat with Control decks (Anemo, Overload) but most of these OTK decks have cards to account for this too. Im expecting a nerf to Yoimiya pretty early, assuming MHY actually pay attention.
Control decks are fine against ayamiya but you mostly see people running it cause it's a counter but they don't know how to actually counter. That being said I would love yoimiya nerf to her burst so it would costs 3 energy instead of 2.
Yeah, swirl freeze decks have a decent chance in shutting down these top decks currently. Unfortunately its still often on the back foot, because the early huge dmg potential of these decks is incredible. I doubt they will directly nerf cards, but I do expect to see energy drain mechanics (lectors/vishaps) and swap dice drain (e.g. mirror maiden) cards to be introduced. Then we will get to see more 'technical' counterplay decks against these 'braindead' OTKs.
I would like to run specific characters that I like even if they are not meta but I don’t really know in which team I can make them most effective, so I just wanted to suggest some specific character card review and possible decks and strategies to use with them, basically like regular genshin team guide for a character but with character cards

Would definitely be interested in seeing more deck guides from you in the future 😩👌
0:48 The editor loves us! It hit the corner!
0:50 that was spectacular
I actually countered this type of deck in PVP using Yoimiya+Fischl+Jean. It's fun to see their setups got broken. I called this team "Tempo-breakers"
I personally also found cards like dawn winery and changing shifts to be really good in yoimiya ayaka otk as the cards let you stall turns so that your opponent runs out of turns first and you are just able to normal attack spam without being vulnerable
the thumbnail so cursed with how long their neck are and wide shoulder
I didnt think I would like playing the TCG, I wasnt even excited when it was announced and now I have been playing it more then genshin I even let my resin stay at 160 so I can play more TCG
I'm going to try this soon🤭.
I couldn't find a use for Paimon's card (3 cost version), and it often felt like a waste especially if it came late.
The most effective team for me, so far, was Noelle + Pyro Agent, and I called it "UngaBungaMaid" 🤣
But I like seeing that I'm not the only one who wanted to exploit that specific food.
Everytime I see "Elemental Resonance HIGH VOLTAGE" and it's like damn, I'm dead aren't I 😂
@@femmenic haha, my comment was just about the card game, but when I play quicken in main game it’s keqing, fischl, dendro unit, zhong li.
@@vans2548 the best feeling ever is the quick switch back to keqing after a 6 hp hit with collei.
Hi, wonderfully articulated guide plz do more 🎉
Solid theorycrafting! Learned a bunch of usefull stuff.
zajef always listening to disturbed 🤘
Thank you editor for that beautiful corner bounce
Thank you editor for making the screensavjez bounce in a corner at the start.
(And yep, what you mentioned is the typical Collei team)
Finally, if you already tried and failed to learn a Noelle team, this is what recommend:
1. Find the easiest to learn and high winrate team you ever seen. (I could teach you what I used in detail if you struggle with this as well. -> 2. Win a lot with it until you get bored and slowly change card by card as you win -> 3. See how the deck one day becomes your own thing with your fav characters.
💀
Commenting positively bc I want more tcg content thank you king ❤❤❤❤❤
When all the first guides came out I KNEW people were sleeping on the meat rolls.
awesome! intereted in more of this
Why are all the OP decks revolve around normal attacks, from ayamiya to ayaka freeze to noelle.
I just wanna comment how uncanny the thumbnail is.
ive been slaughtering freeze ayaka ganyu decks in co op with my diluc, fischl and sucrose. so satisfyingggg~
finally, melt ayaka
16:45 I don't think you realized, but you edited out the bread and butter of this strategy, which is Yoimiya's burst hitting the enemies after Ayaka's hit
YES IT HIT THE CORNER YES YES YES editor truly loves us
I love how Genius Invocation turned a bunch of disliked characters (i.e. Paimon, Timmie, arguably Yoimiya) into strong cards that are staples of many decks
Timmie still isnt that good
Didn't think I could encounter a cc just as loud as Tectone
I'm upset that you didn't make a thundering fury deck first lol
🌸😹It would be perfect tactic discussed by one that had endured every situation, and devised every counter measure to be had.😹🌸
I can't belive I was using this deck before this video but I wasn't using NRE which made it less consistent for round 3 and I had to go round 4 with ayaka dead Thanks Zajeff for optimising it for me also I was using yoimiya skill and then normals to burst I realised really late that normals give energy too (tho didn't come to know that here)
gambler is GOOD. currently trying out some ganyu/xingqiu/oceanid comps but damn do i need a lot of dice editing cards
i love disruptive decks, before there’s a developed counter to them, making the opponent just BURN dice is great
what is OTK?
@@debanjan8433 one turn kill. Lots of youtubers are using this tcg comp
@@the_trvlr oh thanks for helping me out
Finally tried this deck out and holy crap it fucks
Need more videos like these!
Me and the rest of the yu-gi-oh community are having such an easy time with this game XD
More vids on TCG!!!
so fucking cursed that i was like, i wont play the card game until zajef uploads about it and MINUTES later, time to blindly trust!
the best TC out there
truly one of the Genshin streamers, YEP
great video (I needed it, I'm terrible with cards)
I use xingqu, yoimiya and ayaka
Xingqu burst yoimiya skill and normal attacks and than her burst switch to ayaka and normal attack and burst
Insane combo
Zajef on the smol strim: yea chat Imma do more Scara testings tomorrow
Also Zajef in said tomorrow: does a 10:10:10 hours stream with not a single minute of Wanderers gameplay
Look, I like tcg too but cmon man 💀
At first, I thought I was gonna hate this game. But damn, I find myself playing it for hours and end
For me my favourite is still ganyu oceanid mona cause i just love freeze lol, but I'll gladly make this my goto 2nd deck
I full summons with Rhodeia, Xiangling and Collei, Hu Tao and Xiao are very rare to see.
0:50 in gotta love it
Hi zajef this is off topic but are you going to make Alhaitham pre release vid
Me waiting for him to hit the corner during the intro 🤣🤣
please make a video like this but on the glacier deck (ayaka, chongyun, xingqiu)
I would like to run specific characters that I like even if they are not meta but I don’t really know in which team I can make them most effective, so I just wanted to suggest some specific character card review and possible decks and strategies to use with them, basically like regular genshin team guide for a character but with character cards
And then you run into a Vape Yoimiya and she 1shots your Ayaka with 1 auto
